I agree with the other reviewers. Generally a good airport. The walk from the aircraft to the arrivals area and immigration is quite long and involves quite a few stairs. It could be that it is just the budget airlines that park a long distance away. The airport is well served by public transport and the bus service is cheap and convenient. Search the net for the public transport companies web site. They have a good route planner. Buses 1 and 2 head into town and are frequent. No problems with departure. A queue at the security was a little long but moved fairly quickly.

After constructing the new modern annex building VNO became more spacious and got some contemporary airport feeling to it. Check-in is speedy and terminal is spacious with shopping snack restaurant and decent yet cheap coffee from coffee-machines. Arrivals are a little complicated and it takes forever to reach the baggage reclaim area despite the airport being small. Insufficient effort in planning I guess? Anyway other than that it's all fine. Compact and adequate airport for a nice and lovely city.

Vilnius Airport is a peculiar building. The Arrival Hall is a Soviet-era train station. The Departure/Check-in area accessed via shed-like ramps is like bus station. The Departure gates is more typical of modern airport. On arrival you first walk up to the top level for passport control then you have to walk two levels down to baggage reclaim and exit. The airport is less than 5km from the city and there is a bus service (2.50 litas) that takes you to the central train and bus stations (a short walk to the Dawn Gate in the Old Town). Small airport. Free wifi. Adequate seating. Decent food.

The airport has undergone a reconstruction a few years ago and is now much more spacious and modern than it used to be. Departures procedures typically take very little time and it's one of the quickest airports in this sense that I have used. Arrivals are ok however I cannot understand why it takes so long to get to the luggage reclaim and exit considering it's a small airport designed to carry about 3 million passengers. It takes less time to reach the arrivals area in some airports that are 10 times larger. Other than that it is a good airport with the primary advantage being its closeness to the city center ie. just about 3-4km from the downtown almost a walking distance. Unfamiliar travellers should beware taxis which are about 3-4 times more expensive than typical city taxis so it is advisable to call a taxi from a taxi company even if there is a bunch of them waiting at the entrance. There is also a rail service which takes you to the main train station of Vilnius. Buses also operate. Overall it is a good and adequate airport for a city of this size which is very close to the city and therefore very convenient.

Vilnius Airport customer review

Vilnius airport is clean and compact - arrivals and departures are a breeze - although there could be more facilities in the departure lounge. If you are arriving as a tourist do not use Martonas Taxis to get to city centre! They will grossly overcharge - in my case 80 litas for a 5 km drive to old town ( approx 10 times overcharge).

A nice airport clean and efficient. Only about $7 cab ride to town. The bar/restaurants on landside are good and cheap (like the rest of Lithuania) even if the food is a little basic. Free wifi everywhere. Security/immigration can take a while when leaving and the airside business lounge is busy at times. If you change money at the airport make sure you get lots of small notes as some of the larger denominations are a bit of an embarassment in taxis and so on!

Vilnius Airport customer review

Arrivals hall beautiful. Baggage claim is horrible and cramped. Planes don't always use skyways for some reason which is not nice in midwinter. Facilities are basic but you can be off the plane and in a taxi in about ten minutes so who cares? Outbound no need to arrive early. No long walks to the plane. City centre very close. Buses are cheap but very very basic. Buy ticket from driver with local currency only. Microbuses a bit nicer and quicker and still only 3lt or 1euro. People under 25 are more likely to speak english. WiFi available but pretty poor connection.

Vilnius Airport customer review

We were delayed at the airport for five hours and as a result were given food vouchers by Lithuanian Airlines. This allowed us to vist the main restaurant which was superb in terms of quality and service. Certainly it was better value eating there than in Stockholm! However the airport is cramped and information was patchy.

Vilnius Airport customer review

Vilnius airport is one of the smallest and unfriendliest airports I have ever been to. Its quick to get from the plane to the arrivals area which is very small dark and claustrophobic sometimes. It doesnt have any tourist information desk and lack general information about change etc... Dont try to get buses 1 or 2 from the airport to the city centre unless you know where you leave the bus at the right stop drivers and passengers don't speak any english so maybe better to take a taxi (beware of taxi dodgy drivers charging a lot.. it should cost no more than 18 to 20 Litas to the old town). Departures hall is a bit bigger but still too small for an European capital city standards. Complete lack of shops just 2 kiosks selling some souvenirs or cigarettes. Airside is also small few seats so you are lucky to get one. Duty free is very poor in quality goods or quantity.
