"the lines are massive"

(United States)

Not Verified | Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. The airport is clean, but dark. Upon arrival you are shuffled into a small baggage claim that is dimly lit. The restrooms nearby are always occupied and never clean. Upon departure, the lines are massive. Expect a 20 minute wait time for check in. The airport has a decent amount of places to buy drinks and snacks, and there are even modern amenities such as layflat seats and charging stations. We flew out around noon and the departures lounge was packed. Only standing room as there just aren't enough seats. Vilnius is an amazing city and the country is phenomenal, but the airport leaves you hoping for more as it doesn't have the charm and character of older Soviet airports, and it doesn't have the practicality of new Western airports.

"found the staff cheerful and helpful"

(United Kingdom)

Not Verified | I’m not sure what other people experienced but I found the staff cheerful and helpful. Security and passport control was pretty quick. Seating in the domestic side of the terminal near gates A1-3 is quieter than on the other side of passport control, and it’s only a 5 minute walk to international departures. Not busy for a capital city airport I'd much rather fly from here than some of the bigger international airports I've been to.

"Never felt so confused and stressed"

(Sweden)

Not Verified | Worst employees you can find. They will treat you with disgust and disrespect - expect something similar to what you see in Hollywood movies about prison criminals and guards. You better do everything correctly when going through security, otherwise you will be shouted at! Never felt so confused and stressed, the employees were very rude, this is not the way to treat people. The airport building is small, but cozy, with some nice cheap duty-free stores. Everything would be great, but the employees create a very negative atmosphere. If you are a sensitive person or travel with kids - you would want to avoid this place, unless the airport invests in basic politeness classes for their employees.

"very disappointed"

(United States)

Not Verified | This is the worst airport I have ever been too. The way they treat the travelers is disgusting. I simply asked for directions to my gate from 3 different employees and they blew me off. They were not helpful at all. Many employees don't speak decent English at all either. I would not recommend flying to or from this dehumanizing airport. Very disappointed.

"architectural nightmare"

(United Kingdom)

Not Verified | This airport is more like a rabbit warren. It is an architectural nightmare. Arrival, given that it is small one walks through various corridors on different levels non of which make sense. Departure area not clearly marked. The business class lounge on the upper floor is bland and without natural light. It is the worst airport in Northern Europe. The architects took away the fun of flying - worst of all who approved this disaster

"a small duty free in departures"

(Sweden)

I like the old arrivals building at Vilnius airport, it's not something you see at other airports. It might be a bit complicated to find where you need to go for departures for example. There are in fact stairs and an elevator at the main entrance/arrivals hall going to the second floor which takes you straight to the departure hall. There are some kiosks and cafes, a small duty free in departures. You can reach the city by bus which stops right in front of the main entrance or by shuttle train which is a few minutes walk outside to the train stop. Free wifi.

Vilnius Airport customer review

(Netherlands)

The airport is not well designed and badly sign-posted especially if you arrive by rental car. There are no signs at all telling you where to return your rental car. After driving around for a bit we decided on a hunch to try the multi-storey car park. Just behind the entrance there is a smallish sign with the logos of the rental companies but again no sign to any designated parking spaces. So we kept on driving upwards until we saw signs indicating the reserved parking spaces for Europcar Sixt Avis etc. Again no instructions on what to do next with your keys. We then try to find our way to the departure hall. The only obvious entry is via a narrow sidewalk beside a ramp leading around the old terminal building up to the second floor of the new building. Inside no car rental office to be seen. A plan of the airport indicated that rental companies could be found on two locations inside the old terminal building that functions as departure hall at the ground level. But no indication of which rental firm is where. No signs indicating how to reach that part of the airport. It turns out you have to leave the building cross the road to the old building find a staircase downstairs. Here you find signs to car rental but pointing in two opposite directions! I tried left but found that my company was on the other side of the building. Once I found it I had to accompany the operator to the car for inspection. And after inspection back to the terminal building. Good thing we were there with good time to spare! Our flight left from gate A2. For gate A2 and A1 there were a total of 6 seats in the waiting area so waiting passengers had to spread out to rest of the A wing of the departure lounge. The airport tries to show an environmental consciousness by placing separate garbage can for paper plastics and other items. Funny thing is that cleaning staff empties the three cans into one big garbage bag!

Vilnius Airport customer review

(Germany)

A small airport which is easy to navigate. Arrived on Lufthansa which uses an airbridge so it is just a few steps down a stairway and a 50m walk to get to the baggage carousel. After a 15 minute wait baggage arrives. No border controls so a real quick way out of the airport. Busses to downtown Vilnius and central station are a good option. The train to Vilnius station is a couple of minutes walk from the terminal building. Unfortunately the timetable in the airport arrivals hall does not match the - updated - timetable which is actually in force but only on display at the station platform. So save yourself the hassle and take the airport bus which departs right in front of the terminal. Bus tickets are for sale at the newsstand in the arrivals hall (2 Lats/ride). Departure from Vilnius is very easy. Friendly check-in and security staff. Low cost travellers be aware of the measuring devices they have installed on the security conveyor belts. Quite obviously all the boardcases to be screened must fit though that frame. Also they keep announcing the WizzAir and Ryanair luggage restrictions so it is better to adhere to them from the start. Vilnius features some airside shops and coffee bars and a very quiet business lounge with various drinks sandwiches and fruit. This airport has a stress less atmosphere - a nice gateway to Lithuania.

Vilnius Airport customer review

(United States)

This airport is quite small. The tourist information office was helpful and friendly. Be aware if you rented a car from Hertz at another location and return it at the Vilnius airport you won't have the keycard necessary to enter the rental car parking lot (which is not well-signed). You will have to pay to park or park semi-illegally in front of the terminal and run in to your rental company to get the card so you can enter the lot and return your card. I assume it is the same with other rental car companies. If you had a lot of luggage you may wish to take the city bus to the train station instead of the train as you will have to go down a flight of stairs at the train station. There's no elevator. Passport control and security was quick in the early afternoon. Even though there aren't many planes at the airport if you are in a regional or smaller jet you'll have to ride a bus to the plane.
