"passport chaos"
A Whittaker (United Kingdom)
This was my first experience of Canada. We followed the crowd to passport chaos, a large hall full of people, no signs as to where we should queue. Staff shouting "I'm coming through" with wheelchaired passengers. Fortunately, a fellow countryman heard us talking and yelled to us to follow him. Through the crowd and into space beyond, another few minutes and we had left all the mayhem behind.

"avoid at all costs"
Stan Sur (United States)
Toronto Pearson Airport is the worst we have ever experienced in our travels. Transiting from a flight from Munich, we had to go through another security inspection line after we had just exited the aircraft. What was the reason for that? Airport staff are rude, security personnel are rude. Avoid at all costs.

"exhausting trying to find your way"
R Peters (United States)
I usually flight from Detroit, but chose to fly out of Windsor, with Toronto Pearson as the connecting flight. This was my first experience with this airport, flying Air Canada, and it was by far the worst experience. Once you get there it is complete chaos and very unorganized. No one knows which way they need to go, and none of the employees are willing to direct you. Several times we ended up in the wrong line because no one would help us. Not to mention, the lines are never ending. Checkpoint after checkpoint, it becomes exhausting trying to find your way through. I will be avoiding this airport at all costs from now on.

"experience hectic"
1 reviews Andree Turbide (United Kingdom)
On our way from Montréal to Tampa we had to stop at Toronto Pearson and I counted no less thant 8 check points. Security lines were very long and the experience hectic. The airport design is totally impractical and most travellers we were with didn't know where to go when we came back from Tampa. When we arrived at Toronto from Tampa, we had to go through security again, even though process had all be done in Tampa. Employees were extremely rude, and there was even a guy driving an electric cart that would beep at everybody. The food was horrible too. Now, we prefer driving to Plattsburgh to take our flight than to go through Toronto.

"waste of valuable time"
R Franklin (United Kingdom)
A 45-minute wait to check a bag at the Air Canada desk in Toronto Pearson, then the wait in line to get through security was more than an hour. For those going to the UK, it's better to fly to Montreal, stopover for an hour, and then cross the pond. Avoid Terminal 1 at Pearson. It's a nightmare - understaffed, inconsiderate of the passenger's experience, and a colossal waste of valuable time.

"shocked at how awful the process is"
Michael Welch (United States)
Arrived in terminal 2 hours early, but then they put you in a bullpen and call you by flight to line up to walk over to security line. Put in first queue at 8.07 for 8.45 flight. You then walk to customs queue, security queue and then last gate in airport. Still shocked at how awful the process is. Could have arrived at airport an hour later and stood next to myself waiting for first queue.

"most unorganized and unfriendly airport"
Lori Galiz (Canada)
We went through the Toronto Airport going and coming home to and from Jamaica. This is the most unorganized and unfriendly airport that I have ever been in. The food is not great if you can even get any. Got in and everything in our area was closing.

"endless walking"
Eileen Clark (United States)
I came in to catch a connection to Ottawa. I walked so far I thought I could have walked to Ottawa faster. I had to go through so many checkpoints that I missed my flight. At customs you stop at a kiosk to submit your passport and customs form only to have to stand in line while a person reviews it again. Endless walking, elevators, escalators etc I went up and down so many times I lost count. Never again.

"Pearson was under staffed"
S Clarke (United Kingdom)
Passed through Toronto on the way back to the UK. Air Canada route was painful enough, Pearson was under staffed, soulless and the food options terrible. The Ipad ordering at the Indian restaurant (same as Italian - which are the only two food options) is painful and makes it feel really poor quality. No wonder you are asked for a gratuity before you've even placed your order. Food was average. When so many international hub airports make so much effort to make the experience a pleasant one, Toronto need to make some changes.

"line after line"
Theo Bucci (United States)
✅ Verified Review | I arrived for my flight 3.5 hours before my flight and walked onto the plane 1 minute before it was due to depart. It is the most disorganized, chaotic and unfriendly airport and I will never fly to or from there again. Plan on taking your best hiking shoes as you try to find your way through their maze - experiencing line after line with hundreds of other people. Heaven forbid you ask for assistance - every staff member employed by the airport and those employed by Air Canada are rude, dismissive and condescending.
