✅ Trip Verified | An utterly horrible experience with the disorganized and incompetent immigration service at Taipei’s Taoyuan international airport this morning. Hundreds of foreigners including myself queuing for well over an hour while only three passport control desks were open for non-citizens. Only after I had been in the queue for 70 minutes did more immigration officers arrive and things speed up. It’s surely not difficult to staff properly to meet people coming off incoming planes given you know when they will arrive. Either the Taiwan immigration service doesn’t care about the “welcome” it gives visitors, or it is totally incompetent. This is the last time I visit.

Not Verified | Me and my travelling companion went from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to our final destination Tokyo Narita airport, with a one-time transfer in Taiwan Taipei. Unfortunately, our experience in Taipei was far from comfortable or good. The moment we were through the shafts, we were able to take a small train to the airport. Once we got there, we went through security, and unfortunately the staff there were very loud and rude. After we got through security, my travelling companion and I needed to go to the toilet. Therefore, we had approached several staff members asking where the toilet could be found; 1 of the 4 staff members could speak understandable English. Fine, toilet found, turned out to be a ladies' toilet as well as a toilet for the disabled. The men's toilet was nowhere to be seen. Then I spoke to someone else to ask where the men's toilet was, she couldn't speak a word of English, and then walked away. Finally, my travelling companion and I went looking for it ourselves and found a men's toilet after 15 minutes, 500 metres from the ladies' toilet etc, even though it was indicated that there was a men's toilet 150 metres away. Finally arriving at our gate, it was another 5-hour wait before our flight went. At our gate, forest and bird sounds could be heard every 5 seconds. It's fun, not to say, but to listen to shrill bird sounds for 5 hours straight, you were hugely over-stimulated by it. A hugely cluttered and disjointed airport. After a 13-hour flight, this is really not ideal, nor did I feel comfortable. In the future, I will opt for a transfer in another country.

✅ Trip Verified | There is a large absence of food opportunities, pathetic seating availability, and endless miles of duty-free junk. Be prepared to sit on the floor. I hope you don't want coffee or really any food at all. If you don't eat, drink, or sit, and all you require in life is Gucci, Rolex, or a $500 bottle whiskey, then this is the place for you.

✅ Trip Verified | This airport is bizarre and bizarrely bad. It largely consists of very long and narrow walkways and it takes quite a long time to get from place to place. But what is bizarrely bad is that almost all the restaurants and coffee shops are concentrated in a single place. To get food or coffee, you may well have to run down walkways for 20 minutes, then run all the way back to your terminal, passing by Lego stores and Gucci nonsense and no food in sight. This sounds (and feels) like a joke - but it is not. It is a comically badly designed and managed airport. The staff were nice though.

✅ Trip Verified | Airport has some room for improvements despite airport staff remain friendly. Some of the signages are vague and not easy to be understood. The baggage claim process was sluggish and I decided to find a place to sit and wait for the baggage; however, the seats were not comfy and some seats need to be repaired.

Not Verified | Beautiful airport. Gates for boarding passengers creates a lot of stress. Lots of bickering and words for seats. People sleeping taking up spots. Counting out the seating on round couches there's maybe 50 total. 3 single chairs. Worst gate I've ever experienced. My flight has over 250 passengers.

✅ Trip Verified | It is very comfortable and has friendly and helpful staff in general. There are lots of shops and amenities. It's world-class in my opinion. I am only removing one mark because one of the security check-in people was rude. Otherwise, this airport is a reflection of the Taiwanese people: classy and efficient!

Not Verified | I must give all staff members full marks, for the time when I almost missed my flight to Jakarta, Indonesia! When arriving to the airport, in Taipei, confusion set in, because the transit passengers were told to go left but my gate was suppose to be the other way. I read the sign, went through the security and went to the gate I thought was the correct one. The signs were small, to show which flights were what. The one flight was about almost the same time as the other one (China Airlines) to Jakarta. When I asked the flight staff member what zone was shown (not even called out) he said I was in the wrong gate (C2 when suppose to be at A1). I rushed all the way back up - still going the wrong way. I flagged-down the best cart driver that then called for customer service, that called the other members that then held the plane for me for not that long too, and STILL I got the window seat to Jakarta!! I want to say THANK YOU to ALL that day.

✅ Trip Verified | Due to COVID protocols Taipei Taoyuan airport is like a ghost town especially in terminal 1 in the early hours of the morning. Nothing open and the vending machines did not accept VISA or MasterCard. Very quick transit processing was the only positive
