Taba Airport customer review

A tip when arriving. Get to the baggage belt as quickly as possible and stand next to the baggage entry point. If you don't then you end up having to fight off the fake (they look like maintenance staff) porters who grab the bags off the belt and then demand bakshish to hand over your luggage. Departure is a real trial. As others have said there are no announcements and no departure or arrival boards. Two three or four flights depart within a short period of each other and the departure lounge is packed. You have no real idea what flight the man at the gate is calling and everyone pushes forward wondering if it's theirs.

Taba Airport customer review

Its a small airport and there is a queue when you depart but it moves quickly they seem very efficient and polite and do the best they can. Seating did get very tight just before the flights were called but the toilets were new clean and quite impressive for an Egyptian airport. Snacks were expensive but what you expect at the airport. Duty free seemed extremely cheap and I have been at many worse European airports.

Taba Airport customer review

This airport is very bad. If you fly with Thomsons they have 3 flights arriving within 20 mins of each other. Massive queues to get through the one gate. On return they have the same 3 flights Gatwick Manchester and Birmingham all checking in at the same time. Once through you are greeted with a poor departure lounge - not enough seats. You can only use local currency Refreshments are the dearest you have ever seen. Toilets a joke. Most passengers have had a long transfer before reaching this nightmare. I thought Sharm was bad but its positively luxury compared to Taba.

Taba Airport customer review

There is not enough seating if two flights are departing within a short space of time. The prices for snacks and drinks are exorbitant - more expensive than London Gatwick. The toilet facilities are appalling - hold your breath and get out quick. One outside a janitor gives a square of toilet paper and holds his hands out for a tip! Would travel through this airport again but would be a lot more prepared!

Taba Airport customer review

Small airport with arrivals and departures in this one terminal single story building. It appears to be geared towards purely charter airlines for those wishing to visit some of the nearby Egyptian resorts but is close enough to be used as an alternative to gain entry to Israel at the Taba crossing point. Very limited in regard to facilities. In departure it has two toilets one small duty free shop selling tobacco and alcohol two "snack bars" and a couple of "shops" selling typical tourist tat. Only one gate. No announcements and no boards to look for flight information. You are called forward for departure. Typical Egyptian officialdom why have two people to do a job when ten can do it ? Security checks are worrying. Big gaps that really need to be addressed which if someone was so minded could lead to a significant incident without too much effort.
