"The conditions I found there were outrageous"
S Nowak (Poland)
✅ Trip Verified | I was there on February 28 around 2.30 pm. The conditions I found there were outrageous. I have never encountered such dirt. The tables were not cleaned after previous people. The tops had dried drink marks and were sticky. There were food marks on the couches. The floor was dirty, there were pieces of food on it. You couldn't even sit on the seats, which were very dirty. The coffee maker was in terrible condition. The coffee spout has not been cleaned for a long time. It was very dirty, with traces of dried coffee and milk. I didn't dare to drink coffee from such a machine. I spent five minutes in this lounge, mainly documenting what I found there. I was also ashamed of my traveling companion, whom I invited with me to this lounge.

"staff are not very nice"
Scott Xi (Poland)
Not Verified | Unfortunately, the airport is not good to travel from or transfer. Even though the security check was quite fast for multiple flights around the same hour, it was hard to find a seat or area to rest while waiting for the plane. And the staff are not very nice to passengers asking for directions. Toilets in and out the check-in area are dirty, and so small you can't enter with small bag when you travel alone its problematic as you can't leave the bag out with someone else. I don't recommend this airport.

"departure was atrocious"
Joe Hearn (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | The arrival at the airport was fine, but departure was atrocious. Getting through security was good but the departure lounge was bad. The kitchen had run out of burgers, which for the price were disgusting. The toilet was dirty and untidy. When called to our gate there was confusion about where to queue, when finally someone came he was a very untidy gent with a dirty shirt who was quite rude. All in all it was not a great experience. I won’t be rushing back to fly there again. My advice is to pay more and fly to Arlanda.

"small and expensive"
3 reviews Bertie Pendergast (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | This is a basic airport, very small and expensive with only a few stores both landside and airside. However, security is quick, there is seating and charging points available in the cafe. The connections to public transport are poor, you will need a taxi to take you to Nykoping railway station, or take the coach, however this is expensive and can take up to two hours. There are indoor smoking booths near the gates.

"ages to get through security"
S Vaughan (United Kingdom)
❎ Unverified | Stockholm-skavsta is an absolutely appalling airport. At least £100 to get to Stockholm. Staff are rude. Takes ages to get through security. Don't bother with the airport lounge. You are offered a bag of crisps and revolting coffee. The whole thing is a nightmare from beginning to end. Use one of the other airports!

"lack of almost all facilities"
J Fassam (Luxembourg)
Pretty poor airport. Lack of almost all facilities except a single store, ATM and toilets. There's free wifi but you only get half an hour. You can buy beer from the store but you "aren't allowed" to drink it on the seats immediately outside. Coach to Stockholm city centre is a typical tourist trap rip off - just catch the local 515 bus (27 SEK) and then a train from Nyköping (94 SEK, possibly cheaper, if booked in advance). Calling this 'Stockholm Skavsta' airport is the equivalent of a 'Birmingham London' airport. Needs to be better signposted. You may also get harrassed by border/airport security like I did if you only have hand luggage because apparently that looks suspicious. Just save yourself the effort and fly to Arlanda (main city airport) instead.

"not very convenient"
21 reviews R Arab (Poland)
The building, staff, services, and everything you see there is unlikely to be part of an international airport, especially in the northern Europe. It was undoubtedly the worst place to build a commercial airport. Very far from the city center and not very convenient to commute. More importantly, the amount of unfriendliness one experiences is beyond description. I did know that Sweden had introduced ID check even for European passengers. I was holding my passport as we entered the airport and suddenly a group pf officers appeared in front of us. One of them approached me and stood in front of me. He didn't say anything but he was only staring at me. I gave him my passport and ID. I'm sure he didn't know the difference, as he was looking at all pages and visas for a long time. Without saying a word, he gave them back after 5 minutes. Other staff were not better.

Stockholm-skavsta Airport customer review
Krister Eskali (Sweden)
This is the worst airport I have been to. Not once have I got a smile from the staff in about 100 trips. Security is super slow queue for 70mins. The "new built terminal" has steps to enter and exit making it very hard for elderly. You even have to pay if you want to stop and drop off a passenger. I have been to lots of airports but this takes the price!

Stockholm-skavsta Airport customer review
Jose Lopez (United Kingdom)
This airport is nowhere near Stockholm. I was charged 1300SEK (About £110) to get a taxi into central Stockholm as it's 105 kms away. There are no taxis available on the rank outside and calling for one on the phone on the wall took forever and when they arrive they park up across the road and it's up to you to go and ask each driver and they arrive it they are there for you. The bags did come out very quickly but this is a very small plus considering the distance the airport is from the real Stockholm. I will be flying with SAS next time as I will save a small fortune for getting to and from Stansted and to and from Stockholm airport.

Stockholm-skavsta Airport customer review
Nathan Fotheringill
As has been noted Skavsta Airport is really Nykoping airport under another name but as long as you factor in the 80 minute bus ride into central Stockholm it is a viable alternative for getting to the Swedish capital. As these 'peripheral' airports go it isn't that bad. On arrival the bags arrive fairly quickly and it was a short walk to the bus. These run frequently and apparently wait for the incoming flights which is important of you are scheduled to arrive late. Three buses an hour leave Stockholm's central bus station for the journey back to Skavsta. Returning to the airport check-in is a bit of a slap-dash affair. There are a number of check-in machines which print boarding passes and baggage tags for both Ryanair and Wizzair flights. However if you have luggage you have to join the bag drop queue which is just about as long as the conventional chaeck-in queue. Most of the machines were unservicable when we arrived anyway. There is catering both landside and airside. Remember that this is Sweden - prices are very steep. There is a small duty free shop and well that's about it really. There are five gates two of which require passing through passport control and are used by flights to the UK. There is nothing the other side apart from a few chairs so you are probably better waiting to go to your gate for as long as you are comfortable in doing so. Overall it might not win any awards but it does the job.
