"never experienced anything this bad"

Not Verified | I flew into Arlanda in May. After I departed the SAS flight, I was directed to customs. The room was way to small for the volume of passengers and the AC didn’t seem to work. There wasn’t enough customs people to handle this many people. Once out of customs, my luggage was lost and I had to walk some distance to find assistance. I got my luggage days later, but after several months, I still haven’t been reimbursed. When exiting the airport, the lot was full of predatory cab drivers charging 180$ just to get into town. On the way out, I requested assistance for my disabled mother. The SAS employee was on the phone for several minutes and told us she can’t find anybody. I found the assistance lime and it wasn’t moving. I finally had to help her my self. It was painful for here. Once at the gate (again, very hit and stuffy due to little or no AC) she needed to use the restroom. The elevator didn’t work and there was only one restroom with a very long line. This is a big issue with elderly people. On the way back, they lost the luggage again. I have been to developing countries and have never experienced anything this bad. I can’t believe Sweden can to so many things right, but handles airlines and airports worse than some of the poorest and I developed countries.

"I hate this airport"

Trip Verified | After going through Paris, Oslo, and Copenhagen airport without issue, I get to Arlanda where they made me throw out 80% of my make up from my makeup bag. Their “one quart” bag is actually half the size of a quart. I was forced to throw out $300 worth of makeup and it’s never happened in my 10+ years of extensive travel. On top of that, my flight was cancelled and my makeup was in the trash and I couldn’t get it back. I hate this airport.

"Airport staff at security were rude"

Trip Verified | Airport staff at security were rude. The man at the security queue who checked my luggage made rude comments about the UK being outside of the EU and having no power anymore and therefore me having no power if I had a problem with their security practices. He questioned my 20cm x 20cm toiletries bag and another member of staff had to tell him twice that my bag was fine. After his rude comments to me he made my husband dispose of our deet mosquito spray, which was frustrating because it's expensive. I complained that there is no mention of this not being allowed in hand luggage online, but they didn't care. Beware, passport control is also at the gate, so don't leave it too late to get to the gate!

"The staff is incredibly rude"

Trip Verified | The staff at Arlanda airport is incredibly rude. If you are lost or disoriented in it, and as I know, it happens often with the travellers in this labyrinth without any staff to help you on the floor, you find yourself in a room with an information counter but no people behind it, with the exit door locked, you don’t have anyone to ask how to get a bus to take you to your gate. At the first glance, I saw a green button that I pressed, and it turned out to be a security call. It was another button that I had to press to request a bus transfer to the gate. The security woman came and started yelling at me. I apologised a few times, but she kept on yelling at me. I was afraid she would hit me. She was full of anger and hatred. Unbelievable that at the airport of a civilised country like Sweden they can keep such staff.

"had very bad experience"

Trip Verified | We flied back to Bangkok from Stockholm yesterday. We had very bad experience with this airport regarding Immigration service. The facility is OK even it was quite not big abut the check-in counters are enough for crowded passenger. The security check take some time but it is understandable. However, the Immigration counter was terrible. There were only 4 counters for both EU and non-EU passport before we went to the gate. You can imagine that there were hundreds of people waiting in the line just to get stamped out on passport. It took more than half an hour to wait and many passengers almost miss the flights. We recommend that the Swedish government should improve immigration service at Arlanda airport

"leaves me with a very bad taste"

Trip Verified | The airport staff is very rude. The escalators are broken and the elevators aren’t big enough to accommodate more than one or two passengers with luggage. And even though we are flying business, we were not allowed to enter prior to 3 hours of our flight time. This would be understandable but there is no place clean to sit and wait. The amount of seating provided is inadequate, and it is very dirty. I also do not see an available wifi. Sweden is such a wonderful country but this airport leaves me with a very bad taste. I will avoid this airport in the future.

"Three bad experiences in a month"

Not Verified | Three bad experiences in a month, one arrival and two departures. It start even before you get in, long, long walks. Then there is check to see if your departure is within 3 hours, this is before the checkin desks. The persons performimg these checks are power tripping. You Basically can not get in to get a boarding pass without a smart phone. They threat to call the police when questioned. I saw one person that had lost his phone being denied entry until the police showed up. The security check is retarded, walk up stairs, check then walk down stairs. We had a border agent that refused to handle a mix of Swedish and Canadian passports. I used to travel several times a month out of Arlanda without any problems. The two last years have been anything but pleasant.

"be avoided at any cost"

Not Verified | I flew from the USA and had to spend a long time there between connecting flights. I’ll survive in SAS gold lounge - so I thought. Well that would be the case in a civilized country. But at Arlanda on arrival I accidentally took a wrong turn and ended up exiting terminal instead of proceeding to the transfer area. (There were no airport greeters or anybody to show where to go as advertised on their website). Well, I thought not a big deal. May be anywhere else but not at this dump. The security guard didn’t allow to re-enter the airport’s terminal as “it’s not allowed earlier than 3 hrs before the flight departure ”. Simple explanations about a wrong turn, need to rest between flights because of the health condition after surgery and family waiting inside didn’t work. As a result I had to spend several hours in front of terminal with no even places to sit, don’t mention a lounge. Must be avoided at any cost.

"We queued about 5 hours"

Not Verified | This airport is an absolute joke. We queued about 5 hours, had our IDs checked 6 times, very poor signage, staff are rude and refused to help my daughter that was injured. Shockingly low standards. Everything overpriced. After 5 hours we reached the gate just to receive a text about the flight being delayed 1 hour, meaning we missed the connection flight. Total and utter shamble.

"The entire airport is a free for all maze"

Not Verified | One of the worst and most confusing airports I’ve ever been to. Nearly all the staff are rude and the entire airport is a giant maze. It appears that the entire airport staff just guesses how to navigate throughout the area and genuinely have no clue how anything works. The entire airport is a free for all maze.
