"Arlanda is by far one of the worst"
R Parasakis (Greece)
✅ Trip Verified | Have travelled to and from almost every airport in the European capitals and Arlanda is by far one of the worst. They recently expanded the airport with new gates, but they seem to be unable to do that in a convenient and friendly way for the passengers. If you are unlucky enough, for your departure you have to check at terminal 5 and walk all the way to terminal 2 for your gate. If you are a person with walking difficulties or an elderly one you are screwed. Not to mention the long queues at the security, or the total unfriendliness of their staff. They have not even installed enough moving corridors so that you are forced to walk through their new shopping and eating areas. As if u are gonna shop or eat while running as crazy to get on time to your gate. The team managing the airport should check Munich or Athens to see how an extension should be made in a friendly way for the passengers

"30 minutes to get through security"
E Funk (Sweden)
Not Verified | I had high hopes for a smooth process as liquids/electronics can be left in your bag but it took 30 minutes to get through security as there were not enough security lines open at their fancy new (underused) security gates at a peak travel time (hmm if only they had some way of knowing how many flight are departing) and the staff were completely disinterested in helping to speed the process up. Terminal 5 drop off is still closed so the walk from T4 increases the time needed to get to your gate, no information about this online. This resulted in a lot of passengers running through the terminals and a stressful experience.

"Great experience departing"
Jeff O’Neill (United States)
Not Verified | Great experience departing Arlanda airport on a flight to London Heathrow. I was through security within a few minutes on a very crowded and busy day at the airport. I can recommend this airport.

"happy to use Arlanda in the future"
Gary Colburn (United Kingdom)
Not Verified | I was really dreading using this airport, but both departure and arrival was stress free, no long security queues. Airport has a reasonable amount of eateries, shops etc. Would be happy to use Arlanda in the future.

"I had to keep throwing things out"
H Reeskamp (Netherlands)
Not Verified | I travelled to Stockholm from the Netherlands with 10 x <100 ml of toiletries as is allowed internationally. But when I flew back to the Netherlands from Arlanda Airport, security made me throw away 5 items, because it didn't fit into a tiny plastic bag they provided. The bag had to be closed per se, so I had to keep throwing things out. I think it's very strange that you cannot take the same amount of toiletries back home after two days, as you travelled to Stockholm with.

"personnel were so unfriendly"
Nora Hansen (Netherlands)
Not Verified | Horrible security. The personnel were so unfriendly and rude it’s unbelievable. I was not informed (and cannot find any information online) that all liquids must fit into a tiny plastic bag (no measurements provided online) and that you’re only allowed one bag. I suggest putting this on your website as now I’ve had to throw away several items that despite being less than 100ml had to be thrown away because they were too long. Look at Schiphol airport - take inspiration from them. Liquids can just be left in the bag. The woman who scanned my body afterwards was being rude and aggressive. Honestly will avoid this airport at all costs.

"Terminal 5 drop off closed"
M Steve (Portugal)
Not Verified | Terminal 5 drop off closed. You have to walk from T4 which is difficult if you have an impairment. No notification online of this closure. Just typical of the lack of interest.

"So disappointing"
V Peters (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | Horrible waiting time upon arrival for the passport control....40 minutes in a queue, still nowhere near to get through and no toilets anywhere around. So disappointing.

"had one of my worst airport experiences"
Heikki Hyvarinen (Canada)
Not Verified | I had one of my worst airport experiences in my life at ARL today. My SAS flight from Toronto arrived a couple of minutes early and I had over 60 minutes time to transfer to my connecting SAS flight. ARL’s disorganization made me miss my connection and ending up spending 11 uncomfortable hours at the airport. There were 4 border officers working at the passport control: 2 serving EU passport holders and 2 officers for all other passports. There was only one plane of passengers being served at the time, and by far most of them were holders of non-EU passports. You would think that all 4 officers would be working to clear the line as quickly as possible, but for reasons unfathomable to me the EU passport officers were just sitting around and waiting for their non-existing clients. Passport control was done in practice only by half of the available staff and it took 40 minutes! How long would it take if the airport was actually busy? Finally we got through and I thought that now we can just quickly dash to the gate and still make it in time. Little I knew that ARL’s management in their great wisdom had decided to place on the way a security check operated by one (!) security officer. She was managing crowd control, scanning off the boarding passes, operating the x-ray machine, analysing of the x-ray scans and secondary checking by opening bags all by herself. I have never seen such an amateurish security setup anywhere in my years of travel. You call this Sweden’s flagship airport? Needles to say, this prime example of Swedish inefficiency ended up taking 40 minutes to seal the deal on me and my family missing our connection. If Arlanda’s attempt was to welcome foreign passengers to Sweden with a Soviet-style retro experience, then I congratulate you on a job well done. If your goal is to be a respectable world class airport, then you have a lot to learn.

"absolute worst managed airport"
A Bergsen (Sweden)
✅ Trip Verified | I have to say that Arlanda is among the absolute worst managed airports. Development is going in the wrong direction. Flew in June: Long time for check-in Long lines for security. Dirty especially in the toilets. Disgraceful that an airport run by a government company to top all the misery like that and they recommend to be at the miserable airport 2.5 - 2 hours before departure within the EU.
