"check in is quite chaotic"
Fredrik Westerdahl (Sweden)
Not Verified | Arlanda airport is around a half an hour drive away from Swedens capital Stockholm and is the biggest airport in Sweden. Arlanda has 5 terminals: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. In this review I will only cover terminal 5, the International one. The check in is quite chaotic same for the Security I will say it took around 30 minutes to get past everything. Right after security there is the Tax free or duty free or whatever. Now its a little bit overpriced but still resonable prices. After the tax free there is a huge window with a view over the ramp. There is also a lot of shops and resturants. Then if you continue forward you get to the gates where there is also a play are of kids or something. That are is quite nice where there are some windows over the ramp to see some planes. Note that there is 1 hour free WIFI at Arlanda.

"long periods of standing in line"
H Jackson (Sweden)
✅ Trip Verified | Arlanda is old fashioned, inneffective and not child friendly. Expect long periods of standing in line waiting due to understaffed check in desks or malfunctioning check in machines. If travelling with small children, do not expect any special considerations taken. No family lines and you are not allowed to bring the stroller to the gate. Sadly Arlanda Airport poorly reflects the country of Sweden.

"very confusing signage"
R Mitchell (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | This is one the most confusing and exhausting airports we have been through. We arrived on an international flight into T5 and it took us well over an hour to get to the domestic terminal (T4) having to walk what seemed like miles with very confusing signage. On our return journey home two weeks later when we arrived on our domestic flight we had to chose one of two entrances into the terminal - one for transfer flights and one for baggage. As we were transferring to an international flight we chose the first - wrong - because SAS does not have a through ticketing arrangement with Norwegian so we should have gone to the baggage entrance. Ok should’ve worked that out but it would have been helpful if the sign said only if you have baggage checked through. Having collected our bags we had to wait 15 mins for the transfer bus to T5 and were then given a choice of 3 bustops depending on which gate we wanted but we had no clue as the flight wasn’t up yet. And then having arrived at T5 we wanted to go to Sky City but were told we would have to exit T5. At no stage were we offered the option to go to Sky City instead of straight to T5.

"absolute no go"
C Dyhrberg (Denmark)
Not Verified | Only airport I go to where they do not ware gloves when searching you in security check. Very unpleasant and unhygienic. Absolute no go. I wish I could avoid this airport.

"signage is excellent"
9 reviews Catalin-Alexandru Epure (Germany)
❌ Not Verified | The best thing about flying from or through Scandinavia are the airports and Arlanda is no exception. When it comes to being efficient, clean and offer you a good experience these airports are top. The signage is excellent, waiting time at the passport controls and security checks are minimum when it comes to time spent and the waiting areas are as comfortable as they can get.

"transport options are impossible"
M Lewis (Sweden)
✅ Trip Verified | For a country supposedly leading the world in efficiency and human rights, this was unacceptable, and I am deeply unimpressed and upset by how this is allowed to occur. Flight arrived in at 00.10 from London, and there were 2, yes, only 2 customs officers checking passports for a full flight of people. Public transport options (trains and buses) stops from this airport at 01.05am. Goodness knows how everybody is going to get home or whatever they are going because with a wait over 1.5hrs transport options are impossible. Note! If you are planning on arriving on a midnight flight into Arlanda ensure you are first off the plane, or have alternative transport arranged!

"gates are nice and modern"
1 reviews Joaqim Svensson (Sweden)
❎ Not Verified | I have traveled a lot of times from Stockholm/Arn. I have both fly domestic and international from the Airport. Terminal 5 is very boring and small and the other terminals could be renovated. The Airport staff are very good and pleasent. The gates are nice and modern.

"They refused to wear gloves"
Clara Dyhrberg (Denmark)
❎ Not Verified | I have a knee prosthesis. So everywhere I go, I get special attention in security check. In some airports (such as CPH), they have machines which shows the critical areas, so that only my knee is searched. In most airports, I have to go through a full body search. The person who performs that would wear gloves. But not in Arlanda. They refused to wear gloves, so I had sweaty hands all over me. That was a disgusting experience.

"Absolute nightmare"
Vesa Tamminen (Finland)
❎ Not Verified | Absolute nightmare. 2 hours was not enough during off peak hours to get luggage out and check for connecting flight. The whole family had to book hotel and new flight since they were two different airlines and getting bags took forever. Never again via Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

"unprofessional security and service staff"
Chris Ann (Germany)
✅ Trip Verified | Nice looking shopping mall, but with its grotesquely unprofessional security and service staff not a good airport. Nobody really seems to know what they’re doing. Minimum wages may have some effect here. Security calls slightly annoyed passengers names or changes them with having "an attitude". But maybe that is because the badly paid security ladies do not have one at all.
