Singapore Changi Airport

Terminal 1 is a mess due to construction and redevelopment. By far the busiest terminal. Not good for food choices as very limited. I would go to terminal 3 for food. Stayed at transit hotel where the beds are really small and can get expensive for longer stays. Would recommend the swimming pool - nice spot.

The airport is huge but extremely pleasant and spacious with carpeting throughout. There is free wifi but you have to get the password from one of the enquiry desks and I had to wait almost one hour as they were unstaffed (at 11pm so expected this). Changing terminals is easy using the small trains which link the terminals although it is possible to walk. I walked from one end of terminal 3 to the other - about a 15 minute walk just to look around and there are various shops and a tv viewing area with comfortable seats. At midnight I booked myself into the Ambassador Lounge (around $30 in Singapore dollars) where there were comfortable seats free wifi complimentary coffee tea soft drinks and snacks which included some hot spring rolls and rice. I slept easily and on waking the food had been changed to breakfast items including cereals with milk. Use of the shower was included with a large clean towel supplied. Then a stroll down to the boarding gate for my onward flight. An excellent experience.

It is spacious and clean. The only thing that bothered me was the Skytrains from T3 to T1. I arrived in T3 and because the airport was so busy we had to go to T1 to leave. That was a pain. But overall the airport is very good and clean and all the open windows along the corridors allow for free viewing of aircraft landing and taking off. One other time we were delayed for six hours and went to use the pool which is an excellent facility for those who are stuck in the airport for hours at a time.

Terminal 1 is currently a disaster. It seems that Changi is overloading Terminal 1 with flights (even taking into account the current upgrading work going on) while leaving Terminals 2 and 3 with much fewer flights. This of course gives Singapore Airlines a huge advantage over European competitors who have to land at Terminal 1. I recently arrived at terminal 1 and found that the passport queue was incredibly long. Luckily I was travelling with only hand luggage so I could take the Sky train to Terminal 3 and pass customs there in stead. As usual customs in Terminal 3 was deserted. Singapore authorities should remember that the majority of foreigners arrive through terminal 1 and they are therefore now getting a dreadful first impression of Singapore. Singapore Changi Airport should most certainly consider diverting flights to terminal 2 and 3 while renovations are ongoing - and possibly afterwards as well unless customs facilities are greatly increased. Singapore Changi has always been my favourite airport - and I hope it will be so again in the future: But for now: Terminals 2 and 3 are excellent. Terminal 1 poor.

This is the best airport I have been in: clean pleasant spacious and has the most to offer. I found service excellent prices reasonable (all different budgets catered for) and enjoyed the free extras like internet or wi-fi access and the cinema. The gardens are also wonderful.

I used Singapore Changi a few times earlier this month both T2 and T3. Very good experiences with both terminals. I was especially pleased with the service I received after I had accidentally left my Blackberry at T2 only realising after I had boarded my flight. I called the airport lost and found upon arrival at my destination and they had located it. It was available for pickup when I got back to Changi T2 a few days later. I was especially impressed when I was called at my hotel afterwards by one of the staff members at lost and found (who I had initially been dealing with) who was checking to see whether I had been able to retrieve my phone and whether I was happy with the service. Safe to say I was very impressed with Changi's customer service. Great airport to fly in and out of.

An excellent airport unless you use T1 which is crowded hot and in my experience immigration and security staff not very friendly. Always spotlessly clean but there are other things that are important.

MNL to San Francisco with 5-hour transit stop-over at Singapore Changi. T3 is huge and impressive. I saw plenty of high end stores and good places to eat inside T3. I went to the Ambassador Transit Lounge on the second floor after landing at Changi. It is quite difficult to locate this lounge due to the vastness of T3 - .a good place to stay if you have more than 3-4 hours transit stop at Changi. The lounge shower room was clean; buffet food more than adequate English-language newspapers were available and lounge staff attentive and friendly. My only complaint is that their internet was very slow. There was another security check at the gate with x-ray check for carry-ons. Security check orderly and done in a friendly and professional manner. The waiting area at the gate has more than enough seats.

Plenty of things to do. Once you get past customs head down to B2 lot's of cheap options to eat. Immigration was unbelievably slow. It took me and the rest of the people (around 100 ) to clear around 30 mins -only a handful of staff was clearing passengers. If you are stopping over in SIN stay at the Crowne Plaza T3 -linked directly into the lobby.

We recently had a 6 hour stop at Singapore Airport and I was so impressed. We swam at the transit hotel and showered and for £6 including a drink. The butterfly garden was worth a visit. We did find the airport very large and tricky at times to find your way around but plenty of people to help if you needed it. The toilets were splendid very clean flowers and everything worked. We enjoyed trying out the free leg/feet massagers and the free email access was welcomed.
