Shannon Airport

✅ Trip Verified | Shannon airport is my favorite airport. I use it a lot. My Ryanair flight to Faro was delayed last Sunday for nearly 2 hours. (Due to the late arrival of the incoming flight). During my stay in the departure lounge there were numerous announcements over the speaker system. The clarity of the woman announcer was appalling due to her poor diction, poor accent and speed of speech. Another passenger who was returning to Singapore from Shannon via London Heathrow complained that she could not make out any of the announcements either. Its only a small point but it needs attention.

Not Verified | I arrived yesterday morning at 6.30 am for a Ryanair flight to Faro departing at 7.20am. I had no luggage to check in. To my surprise there were hundreds queuing at the desk with one lady checking boarding cards. There were obviously a few more flights departing early yesterday. At the security check in one lady decided to take her tea break leaving one man to check all cases etc. No consideration given to passengers trying to get to the departure gates. Luckily I just made the flight and was the last one to board. Management need to monitor this situation and react when staff decide to leave their posts. Never had a problem like this before at Shannon.

Not Verified | I normally look forward to travelling from this airport, it's usually a calm quiet airport with friendly staff. However our experience going through the security check was anything but that this time around. A lady working there was very bad mannered and seemed to have a very bad attitude. I would expect that kind of attitude from staff at busier airports, but not at Shannon Airport. Felt very upset and disappointed generally. Hope this woman either changes her attitude or changes her job.

Not Verified |  I had a flight from Malaga to Manchester via Shannon, My first flight was delayed and my second was boarding when we landed. I just want to thank the staff, particularly at passport control, the lady was amazing and rushed me straight through. The security and boarding staff were excellent too. All made sure I made the 2nd flight in order to get back to home to my mother who was and still is gravely ill. Without their kind actions, I'd have missed the connecting flight. So thank you all the staff for your compassion and haste! I'll do the overall rating - but - in all honesty I was not in the right state to pay much attention.

Not Verified | Small airport in the West of Ireland. People and staff very friendly. New bathrooms in lounge. Food expensive. Duty free was very big but there are no bargains for people travelling to US as items like perfumes are actually more expensive than sites in US. We used to get bargains in duty free, but not any more.

Not Verified | Very efficient from arriving on stand, getting though immigration baggage and leaving in the hire car in less than an hour. Departure was a breeze. Only minor issue was Wi-Fi only seemed to work once you go through security. Much prefer Shannon to the chaos that is Dublin.

Not Verified | Such a comfortable and convenient airport to use. The relaxed feeling that I experienced was something you don’t normally feel in airports. Everything and everyone seemed to be at a relaxed pace and the friendliness of the immigration staff was very pleasant. The baggage arrived promptly and even the customs staff seemed very friendly as I passed by. At the exit to the car park I was asked by a couple of international visitors if I could assist them as they lost their car park ticket. I went with them to the car park and visitor reception desk and the two ladies there were very understanding and helpful. There were hand sanitising dispensers and hand towels available throughout the concourse and what is different about Shannon airport is that the sanitising foam dispensers were well stocked compared to other airports that all seem to have the dispensers but they are all empty.

Not Verified | I would like to express my extreme gratitude to staff who managed to retrieve some personal items belonging to my son & I which we left onboard plane on flight in from New York early last Wednesday morning. Due to their quick actions, we managed to reclaim these items from the plane before it headed out to Heathrow on next flight. They were extremely efficient & very friendly, two great ambassadors for Shannon airport. We are very grateful to them both for their assistance in turning what could have been a holiday disaster into a very pleasant experience with Shannon airport. They both deserve special recognition for their excellent customer skills.

Not Verified | I just booked through this airport in October on my way to Australia. It was such a dream, no queues, friendly efficient staff. Luggage scanned without having to remove Ipad, small bottles etc. It must be one of the better airports in the EU.

✅ Trip Verified | The pleasant experience of arriving and departure in Shannon Airport was above all else. Efficiency, professionalism courteous. Dublin needs to take a look and see how it’s done. Well done Shannon.
