"take another route and avoid it"

(United Kingdom)

Avoid this airport immigration. 2 hours in the queue and then our luggage carousel was no longer labelled and we had to search for our bags. My advice is to take another route and avoid it. The airport used to be better but I seems to have been a victim of its success and is now outdated.

"free use of the shower"

(United States)

Had a 13 hr. layover at this airport. Sounds long but because of the airport's facilities, it didn't feel that long. I used their rest and relax area which was full of resting couches, recliner seats and massage chairs. There was a free use of the shower and no need to bring your hand carry luggage everywhere you go since there was a secured area you can check it in while waiting for your flight. The airport also have a massage and spa center, a fancy restaurant snd a transit hotel if you want your own room.

"processes in the dark ages"

(United Kingdom)

Big modern airport but with processes in the dark ages. On arrival going through immigration was a nightmare, only 4 officers operating for non-Koreans, maybe they are trying to compete with the US for slow processing of foreign nationals. On departure it was not much better during the morning rush hour, only 8 of the 10 security scanning lines security operating and few enough security points as it is. You would think that a modern international airport would have more than 8 security screening stations. It took me over 30 minutes to get through and I was told as it was a Saturday it wasn't busy. There is a fast track but it's not well signed and I was stuck in the morass which is general security screening before any body tells you. The signage is a bit odd as well there seems to be lots of signs (or people) pointing at the thing once you've arrived but no indication how to get there in the first place

"always efficient and clean"

(South Korea)

I use Incheon airport quite often for my trips from South Korea. This airport is always efficient and clean. Never had any big problems there. The restaurants are quite good and prices are not that high. Easy to find smoking rooms. Staff are really helpful.

"airport is very clean"

(South Korea)

I was on my way to Cape Town via Hong Kong from Seoul Incheon International Airport. The best part about ICN is that the free wifi is extremely fast and the duty free shopping is excellent. The airport is very clean and with facilities such as free showers, the chance to experience traditional Korean culture, kids playground, and good seating for long transit passengers which is well maintained. However, the friendliness of staff can be a bit questionable. Beside that, I will continue to use this airport.

"worst thing is passport control"

(France)

Incheon Airport is very clean and there are many restaurants, decent duty free and facilities for passengers. WiFi is very good. However the worst thing is the passport control. I travel in business class and there's no fast track lane. It's a shame as it is usually more than 1 hour each time at arrival or departure.

"consistent long waiting times"

(Singapore)

This is about the 10th time I've arrived at ICN airport and it seems that the airport makes no effort to meet passenger expectations. Again I spent 1 hour in the foreigner line to enter Korea, after walking for 30 minutes from the gate. Long walking times, consistent long waiting times at Customs. There were 10 customs lines, of which 7 were empty lines for Koreans and 3 lines for thousands of queuing foreigners. Staff confirmed to me that in the early mornings there are always long queues. When asked why no action is taken to improve a friendly smile comes. Sorry but this makes the airport user unfriendly. Add to this the very long walking distances, the 1 hour travel from Seoul city and you have a total travel time of 3-4 hours from arrival to hotel. Not really competitive.

"dazzlingly clean"

(United Kingdom)

I have to stress that Incheon airport is dazzlingly clean. Also, I was taking Lufthansa so I arrived in the concourse. This meant I had to take a train to the main terminal. There were many helpful staff to ask for information. The trains were very nice and air conditioned and in the main terminal, there are many restaurants and cafes. You do not have to wait very long for immigration and security and the toilets are very clean. There are very good links to the city Incheon and Seoul, with trains taking under 1 hr to seoul station. I am not surprised that Incheon airport is one of the best in the world. I am looking forward to going to Incheon next year.

"never fly Korean Air again"

(South Korea)

Appalling service and organisation from Korean Air at Incheon airport. My flight is due to depart at 8.25am so I ensured that I arrived at the airport with plenty of time to spare at 5.50am. I had assumed that arriving 2 and a half hours before my flight would ensure that my airport experience was relaxed and unhurried. Sadly, this is not the case. Despite having many early morning flights, no Korean Air check in desks opened until 6.10am, despite the fact that there were literally thousands of people waiting at this time. It was so crowded that it was impossible to see what line was for what area, and I spent 40 minutes before managing to speak to a member of ground staff who informed me that I was stood in the wrong line (for self check which I was unable to use as I was flying to China and needed a visa check). I then joined the right line for a woefully inadequately manned section of desks that took an additional hour and 10 minutes to clear. Of course this was then followed by additional queues for security and immigration that I then had to push my way to the front of to avoid missing my flight. Surely it was no surprise to Korean Air how many flights and passengers they were expecting at that time? Then why did the check in desks not open earlier to start processing passengers earlier? Why, when they knew there would be so many passengers, did they not have more ground staff to assist the frankly dangerous crowd situation and make it clear to passengers exactly where they needed to line up? In all the time it took me to queue to eventually check in, I only saw 2 ground staff who were looking rather harassed and say they "couldn't help me". Congratulations Korean Air - you have successfully ensured that I will never fly with you again

"airport is clean"

(United Kingdom)

Airport I visit regularly due to connections out of central Asia. Overall the airport is clean and the transfer is efficient. The departure gates are clean and WIFI is available. Facilities and restaurant options are very disappointing. Currently a new food section has been built but this involves waiting in a line for a seat. For a airport of this size they have definitely not focused on other facilities. The best option if you have a long transfer wait is to use the facilities through customs. The airport has much better options, movie theatre, restaurants etc in the train station area on the outside of the terminal. One good option to use if you have 5 hr plus wait is the free tours, I have used this before and found it a great way to pass the time if you have a long transfer.
