"Worst transit in the entire world"

Not Verified | Worst transit in the entire world. Nobody speaks English or Spanish and workers are very rude whenever you ask them something. Terminals are very away from each other, so if you have the misfortune of having transit here be prepared to walk like 2 hours from terminals. The food is terrible, at some places they simply don't attend to you if you don't speak in Portuguese, and again, nobody speaks English or Spanish so we had to buy our food on a machine. I think this is the worst airport on the entire Americas and I don't recommend it to anyone, is better to not travel than stepping on this airport.

"Awful airport"

Trip Verified | Awful airport. Arrivals at Terminal 2 with administrative style corridors and long walks. Furthers endless uninspiring connecting walk to the terminal 3. Bathrooms fixtures inadequate or broken in many places, not mentioning the poor sanitary conditions. Domestic departure lounges crowded with inefficient boarding lines and constant gate changes, not mentioning remote location for planes, forcing passengers in overcrowded old buses without A/C. Security checks for the terminal two all funnelling toward a single entry security checks area space with constantly undermanned stations, forcing long queues.

"Sign posting is an absolute nightmare"

Not Verified | Sign posting is an absolute nightmare. Half of terminal 2 is separated from the other, no way to get to the other side unless they're nice enough to let you through some little bottleneck boarding pass scanner. In our case they weren't. We were made to go outside of the secure area, re-enter through security screening, circumnavigate the whole of terminal 3 just to end up back right where we started. With the exception of being on the right side of some plexiglass. Took us 45 minutes to accomplish this. Just to get to the spot we were literally looking at through a window. Not even 20 feet away. This journey gives you no sense of confidence in others advice because you are following signs exclusively for terminal 3. At the end of your trek across the whole airport you finally see signage for terminal 2. A couple minutes later you've arrived at your gate.

"not friendly for the elderly, sick, or incapacitated"

Not Verified | The airport is not friendly for the elderly, sick, or incapacitated. Basically if you have to be fit to power walk a marathon - you might make it to your flight as a result or teetering on the edge of racing in. The design of this airport makes it so that most terminals are extremely far and sometimes up to 1 hour away from check in point. If you speak English/Spanish people don't make a considerable effort to help. I'm guessing to much drinkee drinkee and sun bathing really gets people in such a relaxed mood they barely care about their work. This is the sense I got from almost every Brazilian I kindly encountered for directions and guidance. The card reader at the covid clinic did not accept my international visa chase card and so I was not able to have a covid antigen test that was very much needed for boarding. I went to money exchange center and they could only give me dollars for reals. So basically my funds were blocked and I could not pay for the test that I needed to board the plane. All in all a terrible experience with up to 4 people telling me to go in opposing directions.

"such a terrible travel experience"

Not Verified | I have never experienced such a terrible travel experience in my life. We traveled from Rio, connecting through Guarulhos Airport, and because of poor customer service, we missed our flight to Miami. We arrived with an hour and a half to make the connection. The process was to reclaim our bags, check them back in, then go through security and passport control. There were no directions to the new terminal, no one to guide you through and the extremely long lines guaranteed we would be pressed for time to make the connection. I repeatedly asked airport employees to move us to the front of the security and passport lines as we now had 30 minutes to make the connection. They were rude and said we had to wait like everyone else. We were connecting through, but that didn't matter. They treated us like we were starting our journey. I was so angry at their lack of customer service. Why couldn't they make a new line for everyone pressed up against a tight connection. So, we missed the connection by 15 minutes because no one there made accommodations for anyone connecting through. So many people missed their flights that night and nobody cared in the least. The airport staff are robots and don't understand customer experiences are important. And, they move so slowly with ZERO sense of urgency.

"Airport help and customer services are bad"

Not Verified | Airport help and customer services are bad. No actual details or information about things that I tried to ask. No real service and I am stuck here since the airport service screw ups. Employees don't speak anything else than Portuguese or if you are lucky Spanish (I speak only English) all the information available are as squared as an circle. It is nice to wait unknowingly how many more hours I need to sacrifice from my holiday. I hope that these problems are not daily. I’ve been here at least 1time before and had problems then as well.

"the signposting needs to be better."

Trip Verified | Please note this review is for Terminal 3. This terminal was opened 7 years so it's relatively new. Terminal looks classy with the palm trees outside it. Had a good experience at Guarulhos. Security line was quick and efficient. Passport control was also light in traffic and staff were polite as is often the case in Brazil. Not too many shops but the terminal is manageable and not huge so walking distance is good. What lets Guarulhos T3 down a bit is the signposting needs to be better. The Free WIFI was great.

"Organizational mess!"

Trip Verified | Organizational mess! Interactive signs show wrong info or not info at all. Voice information are only in Portuguese and gate service does not speak English. Near gate 226 5 buses stay all the time near the doors running inserting its fumes constantly inside the terminal. Ecology.

"Overall good experience"

Trip Verified | The new terminal 3 is finally a leap to the 21st century, e-gates for brazilians make the process stressless and quick, food and drinks limited but good options (margaritaville, starbucks, pizza hut, subway etc...). They take all cards but very expensive though. Air con is really strong, I would bring a sweater if I were you, staff are ok but only speak portuguese, foreigners be aware. They have installed electric outlets everywhere, very nice, even in european airports you struggle to find it. Overall good experience. The new metro does not arrive at airport, you have to take a bus to the terminal, it is a waiste of time, take the direct bus instead, much quicker and convenient.

"ridiculous and very uncomfortable"

Not Verified | Simesmente não ligam o arcondicoonado, mesmo em.dias extremamente quentes. Neste momento estou no terminal 3, são 20:00 e está 31C aqui ! Simplesmente ridiculo e muito desconfortável. Esperar aqui nesse calor é uma das experiencias de viagens mais irritantes que já vivenciei! They do not even turn on the air-conditioning, even in extremely hot days. Right now I'm at Terminal 3, it's 8:00 PM and it's 31C here! Simply ridiculous and very uncomfortable. Waiting here in this heat is one of the most annoying travel experiences I've ever experienced!
