"it is unbelievably expensive"
S Davidson (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | The airport is functional and adequate for a short-ish stay. But it is unbelievably expensive. There is a simple measure for this: Terminal 2 Heathrow, The Perfectionist's Cafe (Heston Blumenthal, proud holder of a few Michelin stars, food delivered by friendly waiter etc) Burger £14.00. San Jose airport Smashburger (fast food burger in plastic tray) £12.00. And, sadly, that sums up too many experiences in Costa Rica. I spend a lot of time here and the feeling that everything is horribly overpriced just grows and grows. The airport is a good example of that feeling - they are abusing their visitors.

"lots of cool features everywhere"
11 reviews E Garman (United States)
✅ Trip Verified | SJC was a pretty cool airport. It was pretty clear that this airport was in the Silicon Valley, with lots of cool features everywhere, like a cardboard water vending machine Seating was a bit hard to find near the gate. I didn't see many restaurants. Didn't have to pass security but the line looked pretty long. Didn't have to use WiFi.

"few but good services"
8 reviews G Margoni (Italy)
✅ Trip Verified | Small airport with few but good services. Reasonable time to check in and pass passport checks. Excessively expensive duty free It offers a good free wifi service, also available outside the air side

"a serious strain on my nerves"

✅ Trip Verified | No smokers lounge in the entite airport is a serious strain on my nerves! I'm off to a 12 hour flight and having to be there 2 hours previous makes it almost unbearable.

"Too long and too unpleasant"
John Chiang (United States)
Not Verified | Too long and too unpleasant security line even on the Saturday morning. The TSA employees are rude and did not care about the passengers. Only open two check machines and there are hundreds of passengers waiting. Shame on you for making this airport look like a 3rd world country.

"airport is small and basic"
K Weicker (Canada)
✅ Verified Review | Review is for SJO airport in Costa Rica. Do not eat in food court. Huge rip-off. Find the gastropub near gate 1. Airport is small and basic. No charging stations or public computers. Clean and a few shops. Handled volcanic eruption incident relatively well, though some airlines still flew which was perplexing.

"most expensive departure"
C Macklin (United Kingdom)
The most expensive departure from any country we've ever been to. Forgetting the $29 fee just to leave the country, the food prices after security are outrageous. All pretty much fast food but we found one deli style place - a bagel, pizza slice, 2 packets of crisps and 2 small waters came to $33! I know airports are expensive but that's more than anywhere in Europe.

"signs are confusing"
4 reviews Matt James (South Africa)
Landed at San José airport at 9:55pm from ATL as scheduled, but we had to wait 45 minutes for our gate to open. Once I finally got off the plane and inside the airport, it was difficult finding the way to the parking garage because the signs are confusing. It took longer than expected to get out of the parking garage. For a small airport this place is packed. The good thing is weather-related flight delays are rare, which is what makes me prefer this airport over SFO.

San Jose Intl Airport customer review
7 reviews JAYANT BISWAS (India)
Nice terminal though no seating space at the check-in area, seems to be very congested. After security check the seating area is much better though limited options of food and shopping. The terminal itself is new and well maintained; not much walk times. The view of the runway from the terminal is good so you can pass your time quite well. Free wifi with reasonably good connectivity available. Announcements are adequate. Overall quite good.

San Jose Intl Airport customer review
M Vlahogiannis (United States)
I have been both a traveller and also a person picking up a traveller from SJC. Being a passenger the SJC airport is nice and updated. The only bad thing is the length of walk of certain terminals and terminal to baggage claim. It can be a bit far depending if you're terminal is the farthest from baggage claim. Now as a person picking up a traveller from SJC. From terminal A it is fine given departures are on the right side and pick ups from baggage is from the left side - not much of a bottle neck affect. However from terminal B it is terrible. The departures are on the right and right after is baggage claim therefore causing bottle neck affect. Did the architects not see this would happen? The baggage claim area should be further down or same as terminal A on the other side therefore not causing much traffic!
