Salt Lake City Airport

Not Verified | I had a terrible experience going through security. After standing in line I arrived to a dozen or so numbered check in points for boarding pass and ID, to the right and left. The TSA man there was visibly angry and yelled at me to “GO!” and waved his hand like he was flagging a cab. I  asked him politely which station I should go to. He became even more angry and said  “Just go, and someone will show you.” There were no other agents visible but eventually I found someone who would could direct me.  After going through the scanning procedure I went to pick up the tray with my belonging. An agent was flinging trays around so violently, he almost banged me on the head with a tray. 

Not Verified | I have had recent knee replacement and then surgery from a broken ankle. I’ve flown 3 times from SLC airport with a requested wheelchair. Getting on the plane has been great. Arriving I’ve yet to have a good experience. The first time while still on crutches they pushed me to the elevator and said I had to walk to luggage from there. The second time there was a wheelchair there so my husband pushed me. I’ve been stranded trying to get to my plane and asking for help but no one would help. Even those pushing a vacant wheelchair in my direction. Yesterday was the final straw! When I got off the plane there were no wheelchairs for the three of us who requested one. We stood outside the plane for over 20 minutes. Finally when they came to get me, another lady did not have anyone to push her so an employee pushed both of us. He asked several people to help but they said they were not allowed. Two nice passengers helped for a short time. My daughters and our ride waited for some time for us to arrive. Your system needs revamped!

Not Verified | This airport is ridiculous. There is no accommodations for people with trouble walking long distances. The “close” gates are a mile walk if you go to concourse A god forbid you have a B concourse it could be up to 4 miles. The wait for a wheelchair for my 85 yr old grandmother was over 45 minutes. The powered walk ways barely help at all. How do they plan to be more ADA accessible because this is absolutely disgusting.

✅ Trip Verified | Looks like I am not the only one who had a terrible experience. Security lines were a nightmare then a forever walk to the gate. I just barely mad my flight with my normal time allowance, this arriving at the airline check-in at 4 am. I would allow 2 hours when flying out of here.

Not Verified | What a sorry excuse for airport! The fact that Delta uses this airport as an international hub is ridiculous. There are only a few gates that can handle wide body planes, so when there was a problems because of weather, our flight to AMS was hours late because the gate ready for this wide body was being occupied by two smaller planes. Both had to leave before our plane could move to the gate. I can't believe that this airport was upgraded recently. It is a good example of how behind the US is in terms of transportation. This is a terribly designed airport which degrades the whole system. Of course, the entire Utah Congressional delegation voted against the Biden infrastructure bill. It is also ugly. There is no art or color anywhere. It is a depressing, terrible airport.

Not Verified | The new SLC airport almost killed me. I'm 55 and fit, yet entered the airport and had the very last gate for SWA. I couldn't breathe at all with the SLC altitude and the 4 mile walk! It was unbelievable! My heart was pounding loudly, sweating because it's totally over heated! Why was this TORTURE airport allowed to be designed this way? Is this a joke? The architect hates his job?, and this appalling airport was his huge "F you!!!" to skiers and tourists? Grossly understaffed. The people responsible for approving this catastrophic disaster need to all be fired! Worst airport in USA!

Not Verified | Worst carry on luggage screening system I’ve ever seen - seems designed to separate luggage from passengers and create long line on both pre-screening and post-screening sides. Long lines for tsa pre. Only airport where I must always take off shoes or belt at tsa pre. Ridiculous walk to gates from screening point. Snarky posters about how it’s “for my own good because doctors recommend 10,000 steps a day”

✅ Trip Verified | The line at the Clear TSA checkpoint was longer than the TSA checkpoint line. This alone was unusual. Then I went over to the regular TSA line guided by a TSA agent which was clearly confused by the process too, explaining that the lady directing the lines did not work for TSA, but for the Salt Lake City Airport. Then that line became congested. Curiously the other line was now going quicker? I had no less than 15 people sent in front of me. When I commented to the line director she held me back in line. That is when I finally realized what the problem was. She stated she hoped I was joking because she was handling three gates or lines. There were only two lines, the woman could not manage two lines. I think people can take turns in line without help from a power hungry, incompetent, and rude person I have come across for a long time. I hope I don’t get put on a no fly list because of my comments. I fly out of and into the airport every week. Why pay extra money for a longer line.

Not Verified | One of the worst airports. Tunnel shuttle never arrived and the long walk was awful because I'm on chemo and tire easily. No seating With chair backs before going in the tunnel.

✅ Trip Verified | Worst airport ever. If you have to catch a connecting flight make sure you have lots of time. The moving sidewalks are slow, gates are way far apart and forget it if you have to go from A to B concourse. The designers should have put more thought into moving people and less into making it a shopping mall.
