"most rude and unprofessional employee"
V Garson (United States)
✅ Trip Verified | After a wonderful time, we encountered the most rude and unprofessional employee at the airport in St. Kitts. She clearly was unhappy with her job. Being a TSA employee, we expected a certain level of professionalism and courtesy, as we have always experienced in the past at many different airports. Since tourism is the main source of income for this island, we expected better. Her behavior would not be tolerated at my company; therefore, we shouldn’t have to tolerate a rude and unprofessional employee while on our vacation.

"rude, aggressive and unprofessional"
H Lewis (United Kingdom)
❎ Unverified | I left this airport on 15/10/2017 and was thoroughly disgusted at the way the staff behaved. They were rude, aggressive and unprofessional towards passengers who had been delayed by the tropical storm. They did not even help the situation by processing the passengers quickly, instead they wasted time arguing with them and shouting at them for being late for the flight, which was through no fault of their own. No passenger should have to endure this kind of treatment and the airport should dismiss these staff and replace them with staff who are trained in Customer Services skills. I would recommend the international community to give St Kitts a miss until they do this as generally people respond to an impact on their bottom line. St Kitts if you don't value international visitors, find another industry as tourism will not survive. Thankfully, this was not a similar experience at the hotel and within other island tourist venues but the first impressions count. The airport facilities are very limited (no ATMs or exchange facility, limited food and drink), customs is very slow and unfriendly, no special assistance for disabled and elderly passengers despite long queues. Having travelled to other Caribbean airports, this is better elsewhere e.g. Antigua, St Lucia, Barbados, Dominican Republic etc so no excuses.

Since there is no other airport that you can go through to get to this place I have to recommend it. Staff were friendly and nice. There were no long lines at departure I was taking AA flight in the afternoon and there were some people waiting for BA flight. At arrival I went through immigrations and customs with no hassle. Lady at immigration even said Welcome to St. Kitts; I never hear those pleasantries in the US! I heard they are building a new terminal. So I hope they could have more services at the new terminal.

Tiny but well kept airport different design not too many flights but departure lounge seemed chaotic. Immigration is friendly but takes a long time a few shops you need to pay attention to the counters to find out where you're going to check-in. Overall experience fair.

Arriving here is a potential nightmare especially at the weekends. They are just not geared up to handle more than one jet the size of 777 at a time. Queues at passport control can stretch almost out to the tarmac and although very friendly and courteous they are so slow. Baggage reclaim takes forever and it is just a scrum to try and get through customs. On the last trip we were in a queue for customs clearance and the officer in charge of our line just disappeared. We had to start all over again!
