"the airport is very bad"
Tanner Allen (United States)
Not Verified | Turks and Caicos is a very nice place, but the airport is very bad. Coming here was bad, we had to wait over an hour to get through immigration. Place was understaffed, only three people working, and there was like 8 booths open for visitors. Baggage took 15 minutes also. Coming back from PLS was even worse. Our flight was an hour and a half delayed due to "weather", but it was because the ATC was offline for an hour, according to an American Airlines captain. To make matters worse, we had a connecting flight in Charlotte, NC (CLT) that goes on to Austin, TX (AUS). On top of that, seating was awful. There were no seats, so we sat on the disgusting ground with my kids for 2.5 hours. There was no air conditioning on an 85 degree day. We were able to make the 50 minute connection in CLT (originally had 2 hours 35 minutes) only because the second leg was 20 minutes delayed and we had to sprint from security near Terminal E to Terminal A which is on the other side of the airport. Thank the Providenciales airport & staff, because they totally caused this to happen. Also we didn't get luggage at final destination, but is on the next flight from Charlotte.
"a pitiful airport"
Mark Calafati (United States)
Not Verified | My wife and I had a great time in Turks and Caicos Islands. I was selected for a special search at the gate upon departure. My wife was ordered to board the aircraft but refused. She was informed that she would also be searched. The female employee was very rude and abrupt to her. I contacted the tourist website. I was informed via email that this is a common complaint from visitors. The gentleman wrote that he personally has been subjected to rudeness at this airport. He asked for permission to forward my communication to the TCI airport authority where it will no doubt be ignored. Turks and Caicos Islands is a beautiful place with wonderful people- and a pitiful airport.

"worst airport I have ever experienced"
M Pritchard (United States)
✅ Trip Verified | The airport at Turks and Caicos is the worst airport I have ever experienced. Turks and Caicos Islands are among the most expensive islands, the require travelers to purchase insurance policies before arrival and then pack people like sardines in an unairconditioned airport. I’ve been to this island several times but will not return until they do something about this airport. Absolutely disgusting!
"This place is unsafe and needs help"
K Stumpf (United States)
Not Verified | Totally understaffed, much too small to handle the traffic. Everyone was crammed in which is very unsafe in covid times. The staff are apathetic and rude. They are intermittently enforcing mask rules if they see someone they want to pick a fight with. Others including their own employees are left maskless no problem. Security guard has her mask on her chin and she was supposed to be the force enforcing these rules. What a joke. They don’t enforce social distancing at all. They squirt cheap cleaning fluid on your hands and think this is a safety measure. There are hundreds of people in there and one tiny restaurant to feed them all. It was over 80 degrees in July in this place. This place is unsafe and needs help. But they can’t seem to help themselves as they are so mean to the tourists bringing in the cash. I’ll not be going back.
