Not Verified | Most areas were closed and no one was helpful. We were transiting through the airport with the same airline. Security was closed, passport control was closed and being disabled we had organised help at the airport. We were advised because we were transiting and we had been issued our ongoing boarding passes we would be taken to departure gate via passport control negating the need to go though full security. The security area was closed for cleaning meaning we had to go through departure security again before being left in wheel chair for hours waiting for passport control to open. Take care when booking flight and requesting help at Porto as clearly they tell you one thing but do something completely different

✅ Trip Verified | Now that more and more people are getting back to the skies, I felt that I had to leave this review. Porto airport can be quiet efficient on many aspects, except for the security channel, there are like 12 positions, but every single passenger needs to catch the same line, in other words, during peak time, from 4 AM to 7 AM, 12PM to 3 PM and 5PM to 7 PM, the line and waiting time is just impossible, people shouting, panicking, fainting, it is very dramatic, and shameful for such a nice country and friendly people, I now arrive at least 3 hours before my scheduled flight, all because of Porto's airport security.

✅ Trip Verified | Almost no power outlets and none next to seats at the gate, wifi not working on both my visits here, hard uncomfortable chairs, no AC and stuffy atmosphere, limited and expensive food and restaurants that shut down around 9pm despite flights departing all the way past midnight, barely any bathrooms (few and far between, hidden in long corridors). How this place has a rating as high as it does is beyond me, easily the worst airport I've been to in any sizable European city.

"The wifi was the worst I’ve experienced in any airport recently"

✅ Trip Verified | The airport looks nice and easy to get to. However the toilets were mostly clogged or no toilet paper. It smelled terribly. Big lines inside the WC area, no one we could address to solved the problem. It was absolutely disgusting and embarrassing. The wifi was the worst I’ve experienced in any airport recently, average speed was 1Mb/s. Was impossible to do any work while waiting, same for my co-workers. We all ended up using our phones hotspot.

Not Verified | I used Porto Airport to transit between 2 Easyjet flights between France and Madeira island. They advertise this airport as "self connecting friendly airport". Understand, that if you need like me to connect between 2 low cost flights and get your luggage there and re-register for the connecting flight, they make things easier. Well, it was a fail. Both for going and return. Each time we had 2 hours to get our luggage, register it at the counter, pass security again, and go to the gate. We thought we had time to have lunch there but we were wrong. It's a base for Easyjet in Portugal, but they have only 4 counters or so for registering for all their flights. The line is terribly long and just had time to catch our ongoing flight. For return, it was way worse. The registering counter had experienced a brownout. Well, it can happen. But: no information from the airport staff for 1 hour and a half, no assistance to go through security in express, you're just on your own to catch your plane. Of course, no time to have lunch one again. Well, terrible experience both times. Otherwise, it's clean and modern. Not too much waiting time for the luggage. Embarking / disembarking is without bridge and messy.

"It was all a real mess"

✅ Trip Verified | What a mess. Personnel were super slow and inefficient, there was not enough security which made it even worse. I almost lost my flight even arriving 2 hours before departing times because they couldn’t manage to take the situation under control. To get to the security check the line was literally arriving outside the airport, without control or anything. It was all a real mess and the personnel weren’t even friendly considering the stress that we were experiencing.

Not Verified | I almost missed my outbound flight because of a problem on their system not recognizing my passport/boarding pass. I was absolutely shocked when I was told: "we are only used to dealing with Portuguese/Brazilian passports" (and I am quoting!). I do not recommend for international flights or transit. A poorly-equipped regional airport at the very best.

Not Verified | Worst airport food in Europe and over priced. Passport electronic control (departure) doesn’t recognise the ‘card’ version of the Irish passport. The building is impressive, plenty of seating and friendly staff to answer queries. The airport Metro system is superb with helpers to explain the ticketing options. Apart from the food gripe, this airport is way ahead of Lisbon.
