“it is becoming too small”
6 reviews Peter Gloor (Switzerland)
✅ Trip Verified | The main problem with this airport is that it is becoming too small for the traffic it tries to handle, especially the terminal. The positive point about the ramp area is that, without docking on a jetty, a plane can taxi off right from its parking position without the help of a tow truck. The arrival and departure halls airside and landside are too small and crowded. Check-in staff was unfriendly. No hello, no comment, no thank you nor any sort of "have a nice trip". Boarding pass scanning to get access to the departure hall took 30 minutes (I have knee trouble and had to stand in a crowded line, had to wear a face mask to stay safe bacteria-wise). The line was single file, one of two scanning positions was not staffed. A lazy employee took the boarding pass, scanned it herself (a thing that is done by the passenger normally, and takes a couple minutes) and handed it back with no thank-you. Little seating room in the waiting area, but at least there was a coffee shop. Boarding started late, and with no particular system. Everybody just tried to get thru. The employee at the gate (walk-out boarding in any weather), when asked why there was no priority boarding for business class, snapped: "First here, first go!" Unfortunately Austrian Airlines seems to have no control over the pathetic lazyness and utter indifference towards the paying customer.

"hottest airport I have ever encountered"
Michael Harris (United Kingdom)
Not Verified | This is the hottest airport I have ever encountered. I suppose a combination if poor design - too much glass and inadequate air conditioning. Today was only 17° - in Summer it would be an absolute furnace.

"destroyed the reputation of this airport"
E Keane (United States)
✅ Trip Verified | The two women who were supposed to be only scanning boarding passes have literally destroyed the reputation of this airport and even of Montenegro as a country, for anyone who has spent little time there. They created a line 50 meters long and waits of 30-45 minutes for no reason. We nearly missed our flight despite arriving with plenty of time. These woman should be instantly fired, should have their pay docked, and should have to write a handwritten apology to every passenger they delayed for absolutely no reason. Their jobs should be given to someone who actually cares and wants to exchange with society. They had one of the easiest jobs on planet earth. All they had to do was scan boarding passes and let people into the line to have their passports checked and go through security. Yet they managed to delay each person by up to several minutes, by fussing around, having long conversations and making people wait, sometimes allowing people to cut in line, other times arguing with people for a long time about cutting in line (and holding up the rest of the line), stopping to slowly drink water and take their sweater on and off, etc. There was no urgency or care to allow people to move through the line and catch their flights. In fact it appeared that they were deliberately slowing people down as much as they could so that they could miss their flights. To scan a boarding pass and let people through takes 5 seconds at any other airport. Not at Podgorica airport - there it takes several minutes per person and the line that should be the fastest is actually the slowest - 30 - 45 minutes for absolutely nothing.

"make the customer experience the worst possible"
A Kersinak (Germany)
✅ Trip Verified | Flying as a silver frequent flyer member on a full plane. One of the perks of having the membership is the promise of having hand luggage on the plane with you. Not according Podgorica staff you don't. They make their own rules. Not only that. They threaten you that if you take the hand luggage with you, that they will take it on board with no tag. Honestly, I am speechless. In the days when European airports are begging the people to travel with hand luggage seems like in Podgorica they only aim to make the customer experience the worst possible. They should all be retrained in all areas of customer service, luggage handling. Especially the supervisor who are responsible for the ground handlers.

"Staff were friendly and correct"
38 reviews H Visser (Netherlands)
✅ Trip Verified | A small airport for the tiny capital of Montenegro, so that means big queues for border control, no online check in, hardy any shops or food and beverages. Staff were friendly and correct. Best to pre-book a taxi in order to get to town, which will be around 8 euro.
