Plovdiv Airport

❎ Unverified | Unpleasant experience: the airport is small and not connected with the city centre. The staff are extremely rude and not prepared. Be ready to pay for a taxi to go to the city centre, no buses at all. Taxi drivers will try to ask you an higher price. Average price to get to the city is 10/15 Leva (5/7 eur). Be ready to get a cold and rude welcome from the police that are checking your Italian ID card. We spent 1 hour waiting for police control, even in Paris I spent less time waiting for the security check. On my way back, they stopped me because of some water in the bottle. In front of everyone they took out everything from my back, even the dirty underwear. A clear violation of my privacy and without any authorization from me. Horrible experience! When I asked to speak with the airport manager to ask for an explanation, the staff member said "Shut up, put your things in and go!" Plovdiv is a nice city and worth a visit but be prepared to pass by this airport.

Plovdiv is a small domestic airport. It doesn't have any lounges. Check-in is okay. Not many staff, so the lines are long. There are very few flights, some days even no flights. The little bar next to check in is good. However, the airport is nice.

Parking in front of terminal is not free anymore. However the first 15 minutes still are. Distance to the center of Plovdiv is about 20 km. Plovdiv taxi's are reasonably priced.

Modern clean and efficient airport. Only a few flights per week. Airside after security and passport control there is a kiosk for food and drinks and a souvenir shop. For Ryanair flights you walk between plane and terminal so the priority boarding works. Parking in front of the terminal building is free.

Stunning new terminal friendly staff pleasurable experience only thing missing was the airlines. One scheduled flight to Moscow once a week and winter charter flights is not justified hope to see the scheduled operators move in soon.
