"Avoid if possible"

Not Verified | Rude and unprofessional staff make this airport a real disgrace. Cramped facilities, overpriced outlets and long queues add to the grim picture. Avoid if possible.

"disorganized but it works with a smile"

Trip Verified | The airport looks old and in dire need of an overhaul. It was totally crowded it was a challenge to find the way. The check -in counters were announced late and I suspect that some pax may have been late. With such crowds, the check-in counters should be announced earlier to avoid chaos. Not easy to get something to eat - long lines of people queuing. We were truly worried that we may loose the plane but here comes the positive; it works. Check-in (when it happened) was quick and friendly, same with security and actual boarding. Some people say it is like a mini-Italy; seems disorganized but it works with a smile. So, to those who want to travel via Pisa, be patient but not concerned. It works.

"way too small for so much traffic"

Trip Verified | Pisa is way too small for so much traffic! Crowded, so at times chaos, and the service from shops and restaurants are insufficient. The airport has been refurbished and the check-in and gates are little better then some years back. But its not good enough. Reduce the number of flights. Arrange enough seating at the gates. Better signs. Or Build a new airport with at least two runways.

"it was a living nightmare"

Trip Verified | The single worst airport I have been through. Flying from LHR to Pisa, two of our bags did not show up on the carousel. We knew they were there, but the handlers decided to knock off for the night. It ended up taking two weeks until BA got our bags back - which meant we had to go out and buy new clothes for our 12 day trip. Flying back from Pisa to LHR on the same trip - we are a family of 6 and were told the plane had been changed and we may not all be on the same flight. They checked in our kids, and then my wife and I were told we had been bumped off the BA flight. Our travel agent got us on an Easy Jet flight as the people in Pisa wouldn't help us. All flights were delayed 3 hours and when we were boarding, we found out our kids flight was canceled, and they were left to find their own accommodation and alternate flights! Absolutely disgusting. My advice: never, ever, ever fly through Pisa - it's a dump of an airport, the people there are rude and it was a living nightmare.

"This airport was terrible"

Not Verified | This airport was terrible. Ok it was busy but there were not enough seats before check in, people and baggage all over the floors. Once through security it was disgraceful. Crammed with passengers, two very low grade cafes with the most ridiculous system in place for ordering, which took much longer than it needed to. Poor quality food and rude staff. Tables were dirty (if you could find one) and not being cleared. Seating was insufficient, people were sitting on stairs and floors and it was unbearably hot. It was a perfect breeding ground for Covid! Organisation for boarding was awful. Cannot recommend this airport.

"beyond security check is horrible"

Not Verified | Everything before the departure lounge is okay. Cafes, bookshop, air con etc. Everything beyond security check is horrible. It’s a tiny airport with two sub standard cafes, a wine shop and that’s about it. It’s hot, flies everywhere and very crowded. We made the mistake of coming thru security with three hours before our flight and it was not a good decision. Stay back as long as you can. Or fly out from elsewhere.

Not Verified | Rude staff everywhere. Avoid if you can. Lack of luggage trolleys everywhere and they cost a non refundable 2Euros. Check on your ticket to see the actual taxes they slap onto it.

"Crowded and poorly directed"

Trip Verified | Worst airport I’ve ever been to! Even during corona times, tables simply don’t get cleaned in the “gran cafe”, and the staff only speak Italian and do not even try to understand other languages. We waited over an hour for luggage check-in to be available, with no help or directions at all. Crowded and poorly directed, with no place to be remotely comfortably seated. Unbelievable, especially for picky Italian people to be this chaotic, stubborn and plain lazy. Never again am I flying at Pisa airport.

"there is not a lot after security"

Not Verified | Can't remember any problems in arrivals, however the departures lounge is very very busy. Nobody likes being at a busy airport, hence lots of negative reviews for this airport. I think people need to be aware that there is not a lot after security. If I had realised this I would have taken my family to one of cafes before security and I’m sure we would of have a much better experience! Wouldn’t avoid this airport, would manage my time differently!
