Sunday August 24 2014 luggage conveyers at check-in not working so a half hour wait for a bag drop followed by about 5 of 25 border police control operating for a Sunday night flight rush at AF - the usual third world quality accepted as normal by Aeroport de Paris.

Flew through Paris CDG with AF from Bangkok onwards to Prague and back. Surprisingly enough the transit was less stressful than first anticipated. Landed in Terminal L and walked to terminal F. 20+ passport control booths with only one open for every one (EU or non EU passports) creating a rather long and needless line. The officer seemed more bored than interested in actually checking the passengers. Terminal F with clear skies and sun turns into a glass house and sauna with Aircon unable to cope! Toilets cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Food options limited cheap looking and expensive in prices. Internet available but not really working. Staff in general not really engaging or interested. Return flight the same experience with again only 2 passport control booths open with officers having a "private happy party" and not too bothered by the long line of people waiting. Paris has always been consistent in its lack of vision and service. A certain positive changes are seen but it is the last place I would be transferring through if given the choice.

This airport continues to be a shambles. Worst of all essentially no measures are taken to deal with the unreliable public transit to go between the airport and the center of Paris. This relies on the RER line B which has notoriously belligerent unions running the show. Last trip of course had a strike which severely impacted service. You cannot have a world class airport with third world transport to the city. Of course I avoid the airport for connections but have no choice when Paris is the destination. One simply grits ones teeth.

Departed Terminal 1 on 28 July on TG flight to BKK - 13.40 departure. Used RER Line B and shuttle to get to Terminal. Check in quick - I was in Business Class - but passport control was a shambles. TV screen at tail of queue for non EU passports said expected processing time was 6 mins - more like try 46 mins! Although there were 4 desks for passport control officers the number open varied between 2 and 4 as officers leaving for a break were not replaced - same story with queue for EU passport holders. Very officious crowd controllers directing people to desks - did they get trained by TSA? Security check at the departure gate was a pleasant surprise - polite and efficient staff. Had previously dropped off a hire car CDG T2 on 25th July. Drop off well sign-posted with plenty of signs in T2 pointing to train station. Accessing CDG is easy and quick but being "processed" is another story. Arrive early and be prepared to queue. Would I use CDG again? Probably. Would I recommend CDG? No.

I travelled through CDG on my way to South America and also during the stop over in Paris on my return. The airport and the services were seamless. The immigration control security check etc were very good. The adverse review had scared me but to my utter surprise all of that was not founded. The taxi stand was very conveniently located and the luggage also arrived very fast.

We had a transfer last month on CDG travelling from AMS to Hanoi. Although our transfer time at CDG was 4 hours they didn't manage to put our suitcases on time on the plane. Very uncomfortable!

We did CAI-CDG return. Arrived and departed terminal 2E although bags and passport control done in 2F. Train via RER B line is well connected to city. Reasonably clean and well sign posted. Queues were short. Inter-terminal shuttle came regularly. Main issue is distance of terminal 2E from main terminal buildings. Metal detectors very sensitive which meant a very invasive security check for my wife. On departure had to walk for around 20 mins to arrive at gate. Even with shuttle on arrival there was a lot of walking also.

Arrived from Brisbane via Dubai and Singapore first impressions disappointing cleared customs and collected luggage within 90 mins poor signage long walk in T2 to car hire collection. On departure different story of the 14 passport booths available only 8 open 4 of which for EU residents queued for almost an hour no aircon primitive environment for an international European airport. Will not use again.

Terminal 2D - is this the worst airport terminal in Europe? Crowded dirty terrible shops no catering and the only lounge is airside meaning that you have to leave the (admittedly poor) lounge 1 hour before the flight departs. This terminal requires immediate demolition!

Absolutely chaotic. In order to get from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2D I followed the available signage that took me right to the opposite direction. Apt staff suggested to jump on shuttle N1 so I headed at the area I was coming from. T2 is a mess! Staff were pretty kind this time but not particularly efficient. Looking for a pharmacy I went up and down following contradictory direction by information desk staff. Mind that I am fluent in French - no language gap. Gave up search for headache pills. After the gate was changed we waited in line in the tunnel for passengers to leave the EasyJet aircraft.
