"Security staff very rude"
Wendy Williams (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | Check in desk queue was ridiculous flying with Tui queued for over an hour only 4 desks open for all tui flights. Security staff very rude, made joke about my appearance and the fact that I had large breast jokes made by a female staff member. The only good thing was the assistance service but they basically gave my husband a wheelchair and pointed us in the direction of passport control and the gate but they were super friendly unlike the security staff. Not my favourite airport. Toilets were dirty no toilet roll no soap or towels. Every cubicle was a mess near to gate A10 a total disgrace

“puzzled why disabled access is so far away”
Carmel O’Connell (Ireland)
Not Verified | As a disabled passenger I’m puzzled as to why disabled access is so far away from the entrance. People like me who are unable to walk far, like me will find it a struggle to get to the access and feel management need to relocate the access for disabled closer to entrance like many other airports.

“from now only visit off-season”
D Almgren (Sweden)
✅ Trip Verified | The total experience at Palma de Mallorca was next to armageddon for us! We arrived in good time 2,5h before departure, at 3:30 am. First we tried to return the car rented at Record which is at level 1 at the Parkinghouse. You would expect to follow the few signs and arrive at the rental parkinghouse level 1, where you first picked it up and where the keydrop is. NO! You will arrive at the parkinghouse see P1, P2 etc go up there just to find that entering level 1 is closed and blocked. Ok you think, and go to level 2, you can always drive down a level…noop you can not! You are shuffeld out in the wildernes again not knowing what happend. After that we arrive at the driveout. The man in the servicephone finally managed to say “exit in turnabout at the number before seven (exit at the 6th exit that is)”. This car happening took more than an hour (and not only us, about 10 others were in panic) and we realize we have to run for it, with our 20kg bags. Thankfully I hoped, since we were checked in and just had to bagdrop at Ryan Air that would be a quick story. NO! There was no bagdrop, just a line with 200-300 pers going at all directions in the world. Now we realize that we may miss the flight, but still 45-50 min we had. Finally our turn, check in is closed! But they say run, and go direct to gate, D76 as i recall, with your suitcases…oops. Well at security they got angry, bringing our suitcases, but after consulting each other in spanish they remembered that there is a security check to the very left for big suitcases. Bad for us since many thinks allowed in checked luggaga is not allowed at security. Lost quite many things there and many souvenirs, still screaming about why we did not check in below…impossible to communicate. I speak English, German and Swedish unfortunately not an expert in Spanish. Perhaps a good idea to be able to speak english when you work at an international airport? Running to gate after that and Ryanair did not wait for checked in passengers, but closed gate early instead. Never RA again! Luckily we probably got the last two tickets to Copenhagen that day from the only man able to understand our situation. We nearly missed that too but this time Norwegian Airlines kindly waited at least for the scheduled gate close and just a bit longer. At the neat sum of 950 euro well spent in this case we arrived in Copenhagen and then later Sweden. Our mistake was to underestimate the time needed at this airport. On the other hand they should reorganize their logistic. Mallorca is lovely island, but from now only visit off-season.

"Why weren't we left with a wheelchai"
Donald Macdonald (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | My wife has mobility issues in that she can't walk further than about 50 metres without resting and can't stand for long periods either. This is our second holiday in Mallorca and both times we have booked Passenger Assistance. In May 2023 we travelled through Palma Mallorca Airport and it was the most traumatic part of last years vacation. In summary, the experience is like a chain with each link being a section of your journey through the airport, however, the links don't appear to be connected or communicate with each other and so you keep getting surprised. To make matters worse we travelled home on 19th July, the day of the IT Outage. Firstly, it didn't appear as though anyone knew that she needed Passenger Assistance and so after checking our bags we had to check her Walker into a different check-in desk and that's when the disconnect started. We were asked why we were waiting when just ten minutes before we had been told to wait there. I asked to borrow a chair so my wife could sit and was told 'no' and then someone else said 'yes'. Then we were asked why we were waiting in that chair and that our name had already been called. Then we were collected and walked through to security without anyone asking whether my wife could walk that distance and without telling us where we were going or why. We were then left at Security and told that after security we would get a Buggy but that didn't happen. Our luggage got separated from us but we caught up with it and were then seated in an area after Security. About five people came and asked what we were doing and each took my wife's Boarding Pass somewhere to check something but we don't know what or why. After about twenty minutes a young lady with a wheelchair arrived and then she wheeled my wife to the departure gate and left us but taking the wheelchair with her. When boarding was called we went through the Gate and then had to stand in a corridor for about 90 minutes. Why weren't we left with a wheelchair? I did ask if we could go back into the waiting area or just borrow a wheelchair that was stood close by or a chair but was told 'no', My wife was in a lot of pain. Other people had arrived in wheelchairs and were in that passageway too but still in their wheelchairs, why not my wife too? Then she had to navigate stairs and get on a coach to the plane.

"issues put me off returning voluntarily"
3 reviews Alexander Hird (United Kingdom)
Not Verified | I've got to admit that our recent trip to Palma has been the worst airport experience I've had in a long time. Sure, high tourism makes things difficult but I much prefer UK/French airports. Arrivals was dirty and worn, essentially also resembling a half-finished construction site which it has been for years. Toilets are disgusting with uncleaned waste on the floor, and no effort of assistance from staff. Extremely long queues at border control, little organisation and very little officers working. Those working were arrogant and rude, going as slow as possible and laughing at building queues. Definitely not a great start to a vacation! Baggage reclaim is okay. Departures are just as unclean and unorganised, despite our check-in being good. Security was fast, however, I did question if their checks were thorough and an agent didn't even look at the screen while I went through the scanner, much worse than UK airports. The departure lounge is also disappointing, extremely busy and no organisation, stores shutting unexpectedly and large amounts of individuals messing around. Walk to gates also showed the age of the terminal with tiles from floor missing, making it look like out of a third world country. Despite this, the area near the gates was modern and comfortable despite little temperature control, meaning it was a relatively nice send-off. However, the airport issues have put me off returning to Majorca voluntarily, really disappointed!

"no free drinking water access"
Keith Gentleman (United Kingdom)
Not Verified | Departure zone A still has no free drinking water access. Each time I fly out of Palma I am told it is because of construction work! It is a legal requirement across the EU that free drinking water should be accessible to passenger yet for some months it has not been.

“customer service was horrible”
1 reviews S Richards (United States)
✅ Trip Verified | Upon trying to board the plane we were told that our carry on bags were too big and forced to stop and wait until the plane boarded and then pay extra to plane side check our bags. Upon booking our tickets we pre paid extra for assigned seats and for carry on bags, to then be charged more money upon boarding to check bags that are certified as carry on bags. We have flown for more than 15 years with our bags all over the world and have never been told they are too big and can not be carried on. Also the treatment, the customer service was horrible, we felt taken advantage of and robbed. We were threatened with sercurity pulling us off the flight and to top it off our daughter was with us and was scared and confused. Both the Palma airport and the airline Vueling are horrible, the gate agents should not be allowed their jobs.

"the worst airport experience"
Maureen Bysouth (United Kingdom)
Not Verified | Confusing as to where to check in. Went to EuroFlight area only to be directed to British Airways check in area. Long walk. Queued there for about 25 minutes. Bags taken and given boarding pass. Then upstairs to shops, shops and more shops had to walk through large concourses of over-lit shops selling perfumes, cosmetics and jewellery. Both aged 80+. Nowhere to sit. Our tickets allowed us to use Customer lounges, but closed. Very long and confusing walk to Area A from where our flight took off and not well signposted. Eventually reached appropriate area. British Airways Heathrow flight delayed. Sat for about an hour before boarding. Further delay over luggage loading before our flight eventually took off. Oh, dear! Have spent very many decades travelling but this was the worst airport experience ever.

“the way we were treated was disgraceful”
Gillian Jones (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | My husband has airport assistance. At 9.30am after going through security we we taken to an area and told to wait to be taken to the gate, there were no toilet facilities in this area or anywhere to get a drink. Our flight was due to take off at 11.20am. People who were on later flights than us were taken to their gates, upon asking when we would be taken the reply was you will have to wait. We eventually were taken to the gate and when we got to the lift to go down to the ambi lift the man driving the truck said oh you won’t have time to go to the toilet now and laughed, we eventually boarded the plane at 11.16am, we were totally stressed and as a result will never visit Majorca again, the way we were treated was disgraceful. On a note there were about 8 people dealing with the assisted travel it was totally disorganised and they spent most of their time standing around, there was not a lack of wheelchairs or staff.

"Highly recommend!"
2 reviews Oliver Rosik (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | Really excellent airport! I flew to and from Palma De Mallorca airport for a weeks holiday. There was absolutely no queues! But it was 2am so it was expected. But even when I arrived at about 12pm, the queues were short and went very fast. Definitely a great experience! No delays or inconvenience, except for most of the shops being closed on departure but as stated earlier, it was 2 in the morning. Highly recommend!
