Ottawa Airport

✅ Trip Verified | Ottawa is my home airport and given the population that it serves it's very convenient. It is not very large so it may not have some of the amenities larger airports will have (showers, multiple lounges, etc.), but it's fast, clean, and provides an acceptable amount of food choices. Whenever possible I like to clear customs in this airport vs. doing so in Toronto or Montreal.

✅ Trip Verified | This is an extremely clean and well maintained airport. They do updates regularly as needed. Its very easy to get to and from. Parking is pretty cheap compared to a bunch of other airports I've been to but not super cheap. They're already planning out the new rail connection to downtown that will be running by 2021. Currently there is a bus service as well as Uber and taxis if you don't have someone picking you up. (Lyft on its way to the city). Its very easy to get around and if you come in from an international destination the customs is very quick. What I do find bothersome is the lack of airport lounge in the US departures area. The only lounges in the airport are Air Canada and Porter, both on the domestic/international departures area. The food selection in the airport is pretty slim, but you wont go hungry, it's just really limited in the US departures to one so-so restaurant and a tim hortons. Shopping is even more slim in all departures areas. But does anyone really go shopping in an airport? This airport is miles (or kilometers) ahead of those in a lot of US airports I've been to despite all the drawbacks.

❎ Unverified | Ottawa Airport is one of the best airports I travelled from. The security line is fast, the airport is clean and you don't have to wait one hour just to get to your gate. Its a well made, good looking, fast and efficient airport.

Pros: - extremely clean - efficient, great signage - short wait times - never any traffic (to and from) and never any plane traffic Cons: - no lounges - not a lot of shopping, very limited food choices - things close early - a bit far outside city centre - parking can be pricey.

High marks for YOW. Transited from USA to international. There is no sterile transit area. One has to enter Canada and then go through security again, but the process was fast. I was number 2 at passport control. Service personnel uniformly nice and helpful. Reasonable number of shops and eateries for a small airport. Well done, Ottawa.

I really like this airport, it is small and not complicated. It is really clean and they have a small but nice section for kids to play. Just wish there were more restaurant for the US side. There are usually no delays. The airport is a bit far from downtown, so a bit expensive in taxi, but hey, they have Uber and lot of parking space.

A good airport to fly in and out of. Lines are not long and staff are friendly. While it is outside of the city there is OC Transpo service via busways directly to downtown. The only down side is that there aren't many food options past security.

Arrived from London and agree with other reviewers about airport size and lack of walking needed to get through immigration and baggage claim. Found immigration hostile to my wife (US citizen) but OK to me. Inane questions and suspicious attitudes are unwelcoming. Little choice of food in departures when returning to UK but interesting architecture and layout - rivals new T2 at Heathrow.

Wonderful! Right size efficient super clean reliable in all weather conditions and wonderful ergonomics.

We (2 adults 2 kids) came here about a year ago (YOW-PUJ) nothing bad but nothing good. Very clean and a lot of Sunwing! Workers are nice and there is a great viewing area for kids! But the downside is long waiting times for everything! Otherwise it was pretty good and we will be using it again on Mar 22 for a flight to London UK then Warsaw Poland and back. Will review it again then.
