"Slow service at passport control"
N Madala (Malaysia)
✅ Trip Verified | Slow service at international counter. Domestic quite smooth but international very slow, check in counter only open 2 hours prior to flight, and it took 1 hour to check in Jetstar to Singapore with only few counters open. Slow service and staffs that I need to change to different counter to get it done. Slow service at the passport control area. Everything is slow and took more than 2 hours.

" long wait at security"
4 reviews Michael Schade (Germany)
✅ Trip Verified | Check in efficient, long wait at security, took almost an hour to get through. Boarding unorganized despite 6 gate agents. This was the first time that I was not satisfied with a Japanese airport in 40 years of flying to Japan

"a charming little airport"
19 reviews Francis Wong (Hong Kong)
Not Verified | Naha airport has undergone some renovation and expansion, it keeps improving each time I go there. Being a small airport, arrival is easy and luggage waiting time is not too long, customs are also friendly and easy to pass through. There is a major improvement in check-in areas for international flights (and some domestic). Used to be in a cramped little area, now it's a lot more spacious. There is also a big improvement in food offering (before immigration). Once passed international immigration, you will be left with very little choice. I believe they are still undergoing some major facelifts for the departure gate areas, maybe more stores will be added soon. Overall, this is a charming little regional airport which is easy to move around.

"wow so much has changed"
19 reviews Francis Wong (Hong Kong)
✅ Trip Verified | It was 2 years ago I used this airport, and wow so much has changed! The check in on 2nd level had moved to a much more spacious 3rd level! It made the experience totally different, in a positive way. No longer does it feel cramped. Staff are friendly and signage are very clear. The only thing that still need improving is the variety of shops available (air side), and food options. It is still pretty basic at this stage. With more and more airlines flying to OKA, they can be more ambitious and open up more shops and restaurants to cater for us.

"airport is very clean"
Jerry Chang (Taiwan)
Not Verified | This airport is small. Traffic is quite convenient, and the number of stores is small. The airport is very clean and tidy, and the waiter is polite.

"very limited food options"
12 reviews Russell Taylor (Japan)
✅ Verified Review | Arrived and departed as a domestic traveler between Tokyo Narita and Okinawa Naha. Small and basic area for both arrivals and departure check in with only one small shop selling some souvenirs and cold drinks and a hot coffee stand but no actual food for lunches etc. On departure the waiting area again has very limited food options with one small souvenir shop only offering some anaemic looking ham sandwiches. There was one actual food stand but the sole employee was working at such in incredibly slow pace that after 40 minutes waiting without being acknowledged that along with another 11/12 passengers I had to give up waiting still hungry as my plane was now boarding. A nice and easily navigated small airport with very friendly staff but I recommend bringing your own food with you!

"signage is clear, clean and very organised"
19 reviews Francis Wong (Hong Kong)
✅ Verified Review | The international terminal of Okinawa, compare to the domestic one, is a lot smaller. Like all other airports in Japan, signage is clear, clean and very organised. Be warned the, early birds for flights may not get the worms, what I mean is, due to its small size and limited counters available. Very often an airline will only open its counter for check in at 2 hours before the departure time. There is no benefit to arrive early, as you can't check-in yet, plus very limited number of seating and restaurants. The number of gifts shops and food stores after immigration, is also very limited to a scanty few. It is a little underwhelming, so just don't expect too much, it's nothing like Osaka or Tokyo.

"functional but small in every way"
19 reviews Francis Wong (Hong Kong)
Okinawa Naha Airport has 2 parts, International and domestic. This review refers to the international departure. The building is separate to domestic, it is relatively smaller than the domestic counter part. Very limited seating (before immigration) and small numbers of check in counter, result in carefully timed and limited use by respectively airlines. If you arrive early you often have to wait patiently for the check in counter to open. Things improved after passing immigration and security. However, very limited number of shops available for that last minute souvenir hunting. There is a small but functional lounge upstairs for use by premier customers. As an international airport, Naha is functional but small in every way.

Okinawa Naha Airport customer review
C Choi (Hong Kong)
It appears that conditions at Naha have changed somewhat in the two years since B. Walberer commented on it. While I haven't been inside the domestic terminal the international terminal was small clean and efficient. There are two restaurants in this terminal now. The number of retail establishments is still limited but that wasn't a problem. While I had to board a shuttle from the plane to the terminal upon arrival an airbridge allowed me to board the aircraft directly on the return flight. One thing Naha could improve on is the waiting time to go through immigration upon arrival.

I live here and fly regularly. New terminals are open airy and plenty of seating. Limited but appropriate shopping. Nice cafe/restaurant selection for a small airport. Security swift and courteous.
