Nakhon Si Thammarat Airport

This typical Thai regional airport is surprisingly busy. Perhaps also due to the presence of the Chevron offshore helicopter base. There are about 10 flights a day to-from Bangkok. Facilities are limited, so it's not an airport to linger in. That said, the land side restaurant upstairs has a nice view of the apron so you can have a beer until you see your plane landing before going through to the departure lounge, where seating is limited. The car park is always crowded, which is due to people using it as a "park n ride" when they fly to Bangkok, it being free of charge.
