"Arrival flight delayed"

Trip Verified | Arrival flight delayed, baggage delayed (2 hours), train service information was in German. No service or help provided - only a pre-recorded message. On the departure the staff seems to be in loud mode.

"queue for security was 90 minutes"

Trip Verified | A catastrophe of chaos, lack of planning, inadequate check in desks, automated baggage drop facilities and security check points. The queue for security was 90 minutes. This is the worst airport experience I have ever had. Staff can't understand English and give confusing, contradictory information. Munich Airport is a disgrace.

"out of order horizontal escalators"

Trip Verified | I was surprised to see out of order horizontal escalators in the G area. They were not working when departed July 18 and still out of order on the 25th. My gate was K so I had to go to the Subway to get to the Satellite terminal. The escalator down and waited and the standing room filled up quickly. Display said train departs in 2 minutes and then in 4 minutes but 15 minutes nothing. The poor guy with the walkie did not get any info and was not speaking well German or English. Passengers screaming my Flight is in 30 minutes ... 20 minutes ... no response. Then the display changes to "Betriebspause". No info given ... could that display not say something like "we are working to resolve the technical issue" I was sweaty and since I had time (not like others) I went back up and to the Lounge. There were still people coming down even if standing room was almost not available. The LH lounge lady told me I had to go to the Satellite Lounge, not here. I told her there is no train running right now. Her response: "That is not possible". It took 3 other passengers with the same statement to get into the lounge. I love MUC but was surprised by the lack of managing this incident or the very poor communication.

"A dreadful experience"

Trip Verified | A dreadful experience at Munich airport. Too few staff, interminable queues, check in and departure miles apart. Staff on passport control unwilling to help when passengers were desperate to board planes. It took us 3 hours to get through the airport and only made our BA flight by the skin of our teeth. We will avoid Munich at all costs in future.

"Incompetent and not service oriented"

Trip Verified | Incompetent and not service oriented, they are unable to have sufficient ground personell. 40 minutes delay because luggage was not removers and packed in plane. Time for more regulation! Avoid if possible.

"security is a mess"

Trip Verified | Great Airport but security is a mess and took forever, second time for 1+ hour in the line at 10am. MUC is looking it's good resting because of that. The Satellite terminal is maybe too much for security to handle.

“avoid this airport for overnight stays”

Trip Verified | Although the airport may offer good service for daytime passengers, it's an absolute shame for those with an overnight layover. Absolutely nothing is open and there's no meaningful service at all after 9 pm. So, for daytime passengers the airport is somewhat OK but I would definitely avoid this airport for overnight stays. I think a so-called 5-star airport should have at least a modicum of service at all hours. Much more modest airports do have that.

"At least 2 hours waiting"

Not Verified | The most disrespectful situation on arrival. Herded like sheep through endless lanes to reach passport control. My partner and I are in our 70s and 80s. We almost fainted with stress and exhaustion. Inadequate staffing, poor systems, escalators out of order. At least 2 hours waiting to get through after a long day.

“the most stressful layover ever”

Trip Verified | We were transiting thru Munich as our Hamburg to Frankfurt flight was cancelled by United. Such we had an hour to transit thru Munich which ended up being the most stressful layover ever. We are a family of four with two teenagers. We first finally arrive at the security at the international terminal only to be asked a battery of questions; “what kind of car do you drive”, “what was your favorite thing to do in Germany”….then only to have the 15 year old to be given the “SSSS” boarding pass and have to go thru additional screening. This is happening while our flight to Newark is being called “last call” and United staff are annoyed by our inability to get our son thru this process more quickly when their airline was the cause of this situation in the first place. My son finely got thru whatever process was needed and boarded the aircraft without shoes on. I have flown a lot. I have had plenty of cancelled flights, delayed flights. I’m not a newbie. I can tell you the treatment….the annoyance on faces, the battery of unnecessary questions…. I have always loved to fly but no more. As I move towards retirement I will do everything in my power NOT to take a flight. I will take a repositioning cruise, or I will take the train or bus.

"long queues everywhere"
