"extremely dirty"

Not Verified | Business lounge - like NY metro at rush hour. Distance from registration desk to boarding gate 25 minuts (.0.5- 1 mile) without any transportation. Everything (floor, seats, plates, silverware) extremely dirty, a lot of dust around.

"this was not what I expected"

Not Verified | I was in this airport for 6 hours and this was not what I expected. Before flying I checked reviews for this airport and expected the worst but this was the best airport I've been to so far! Everything was clean and tidy with lots of seats and shops, good food at local Russian restaurants and Burger king was ok. Toilets were clea and wifi was really fast but turned off every 1 hour for 3 minutes 'probably due to too many people using it'. This airport is nice.

"still not enough seats"

Trip Verified | We use this airport for transit purposes to China. The problem is that the very long crossing between the terminals from Terminal D to Terminal F takes a continuous walk like half an hour or more. There seems to be an improvement in Terminal F, but there are still not enough seats in Terminal D, due to the large number of shops. If you want to sit and wait for the flight you will need to go into a cafe or restaurant. Apparently this is a deliberate policy of the airport management that prefers the parking spaces over the convenience of the traveler. One of the problems is the frequent exchange of exit gates, and then you have to run from gate to gate and the distances are big. They have not yet learned the concept of comfort for passengers.

"Not enough seats and space"

Trip Verified | Terminal D has only 2 toilets. One of them was closed and the other one was a 7 minute walk away and had only 2 cabins. No toilet paper, no soap, no drinking water. There is no airport information desk in the departures area of D. Not enough seats and space. No clear signs. Wifi did not work Horrible

"woefully lacking"

Trip Verified | I wonder if anyone of the Airport Officials have read the earlier comments? Each one has graded this Airport as being very poor. When we landed at this Airport on 18 August 2018 from Budapest for transit to Delhi, the passengers were to pass through the immigration and custom check. It is absolutely ridiculous that over 200 passengers were herded past just two officials and two security check points. We had to wait for one hour and 20 minutes and that too standing. Age and medical condition did not seem to matter. We were appalled at the utter lack of consideration for the comfort of the passengers. The old Soviet style of functioning seems to be dominant. The seating for waiting passengers is as good as non-existent. It seems that the motive of the Airport authorities is to make money from the shops rather than provide adequate seats for passengers - case in point is that outside gates number 47 and 48 there are just 10 seats!!!! The water fountains were not functioning we were hunting around all over the place to get water to drink. The Staff at the Transit desk in the vicinity of these gates is impolite and lack basic sense of interacting with passengers. One of the staff at the counter was loud and disrespectful. Overall I would rate this Airport in all categories as being very poor. The administration needs to be more active and be seen around to assist passengers a not tick away time sitting insulated in some distant office and remain inaccessible to passengers. Modern management methods are woefully lacking. Overhaul your attitude.

"Shops and restaurants are crammed"

Trip Verified | Sheremetyevo may be an international airport but I've seen far better layouts and facilities in domestic terminals. Shops and restaurants are crammed next to each other with narrow corridors always crowded with travelers. Signs are not well placed and confusing. I looked up with disbelief at one sign stating it was a 20-minute walk to the next terminal. It was not an error; there were NO inter-terminal shuttles. Fortunately I had a 3-hour layover - make sure you have enough to make flight connections. Departure gates lack enclosed seating for passengers. What few seats were available were in the corridors, constricting passenger traffic even further. To top if all off, there was a 'fly-by' of several birds within the terminal. Apparently they go trapped in the corridors with no way out.

"a nightmare of an airport"

Not Verified | What a nightmare of an airport! First of all, the passport control is garbage. It took us about 90 minutes to get through immigration, and what was most shocking was that there were about two closed lanes that were fully staffed and ready to be used. Secondly, there are not enough seats. I was flying from Moscow to Hong Kong on a B77W, of which is a large plane that can easily seat over 200-300 people. But guess what? Our gate had barely enough seats to accommodate a a full CRJ700 (which is a short range jet that can seat about 75 people), let alone a 777. We had to resort to sitting down at one of the (thankfully plentiful) restaurants. Also, the terminal signs are terrible. You don't get a clear sense of direction from them - for example, the sign to the male toilet pointed towards a wall!

"signage was poor"

Trip Verified | Arrived at Sheremetyevo on an international flight, and made a connection to a domestic flight. Staff at Sheremetyevo were downright miserable, the worst I have ever experienced at any airport. Transit procedures were poorly explained before arrival, signage was poor, and staff was not willing to offer directions or give assistance whatsoever. Food and beverage options are totally inadequate for the number of passengers in the terminal, leading to very long queues for sub-standard service and poor quality food. There is no smoking area inside the terminal, however passengers just smoke their cigarettes inside the bathrooms, leading to dirty, smelly bathrooms filled with cigarette smoke. Seating is inadequate (not nearly enough seats for the number of passengers in the terminal), and boarding procedures were chaotic. Security screening was quick, but did not seem very thorough compared to other airports I've visited around the world. Overall, a terribly disappointing experience. Avoid this airport if you can!

"food department is very small"

Trip Verified | Arrival: On arrival, there was no clear indication that the inspection pass for another flight was on one side and that the departure from the airport via additional inspection points was further on the other side. The inspection posts were so secret that no one at other inspection posts could see you, each coming in and out of position and standing with mirrors so that the Inspector could tell if you were doing something suspicious during the examination and he was checking your passport to avoid fakes. After the security check, the baggage allocation stage arrives. In Terminal D, the baggage claim floor is very narrow and long, so if you want to go from one end to the other, you will have to pass 9 stations and it will take you about 3 or 4 minutes. Departure: Terminal D is so big and wide that reaching one end to the other will take you 7-8 minutes. The inspection stations are small and private, but they do provide, the security check does not require any effort other than the stressful thing when the "checker" checks the passport and stamps it as it was described on arrival. The duty-free shop is much smaller than what I know and am accustomed to (in Tel Aviv the duty free is much more than twice as much). The food department is very small, and barely one restaurant has 20 seats and you think there are more than 10 flights that leave the terminal every half hour. So how is it enough for such a big airport?

"organisation chaotic"

Not Verified | Worst experience ever. 2 hours to passport control. The signs are unclear and organisation chaotic. The staff's work terribly inefficient, and those who speak English simply do not give a clear answer or ignore passengers enquiries. This was even during the World Cup event! Ruined the whole trip!
