"seems to function quite efficiently"

(United Kingdom)

Not Verified | A perfectly acceptable regional airport that seems to function quite efficiently. Arrival was fine, short queue at passport control and then onto the bus which takes about fifteen minutes to get to Bergamo itself. On departure the queue was slightly longer, minor delay waiting for boarding but got there in the end. Surprising amount of shops/bars after security, so no complaints on that front. There are far worse airports than Bergamo.

"angry and threatening"

(Norway)

Trip Verified | The main reason I am writing is because I have never experienced this before. The airport has a man in uniform who walks around and wakes people who tries to sleep or lie down. He is angry and threatening, and it made the whole airport experience horrible. People need to be able to stretch their bodies and the chairs here are thin metalic ones, with comfort-level -5. Its also quite dirty here.

"everything is at hand"

(Denmark)

Not Verified | Excellent airport. It helps that it's rather small so everything is at hand. Staff are friendly and helpful. Lots of facilities for food and other commodities. Way better then the chaotic Malpensa. What could be improved is the roads to get there and the parking lot (at times it can get really crowded).

"a good, smaller modern airport"

(United Kingdom)

Verified Review | A good, smaller modern airport. I really liked the individual sleeper lounges you can hire for 9 euros an hour with free device charging and work space. Queueing for security - on the 2 times I did it, it took about 15 minutes, pretty standard. Distances - everything is pretty close before and after security. Staff - most service and information staff were really helpful, a couple were informative without giving much away. Food choices before security are of the slice of pizza variety, basic but fine, good coffee, of course, being Italy. After security, there are better food choices and more shops organised in a rather interesting winding way. Wifi at the airport was free but slow at times, fine in the sleeper lounge. Bus connections to Milan (5 Euros) are just outside the terminal. Buses to Milan Malpensa airport (18 Euros) take nearly 2 hours.

"Staff are rude"

(Russian Federation)

Staff are rude. At passport control they throw you your passport without any reason. At the tax-free desk the staff member did not have the faintest idea of politeness. It was strange to find in friendly and amiable Italy so many uncultured and aggressive service staff in one place. Is it cheaper for the airport to hire such people? Comfort in terminal is low though acceptable. Directions to the gates make you go around the whole building, although all gates are right behind the security checks. Gates 'B' are downstairs. If you are short of time - look for a shortcut.

"finally a decent airport"

(Italy)

After the renovations, Milan Bergamo Airport is finally a decent airport. Queues are pretty quick but the way to line up could be improved. Decent bars airside, smooth boarding procedure. Excessive bussing. Arrivals are not up to par, toilets could use a full renovation. Buses to the city are frequent and signage is good but the ticket officers should be forbidden to get off the bus itself, which they do in order to capture more passengers.

Milan Bergamo Airport customer review

(United Kingdom)

Flew into Bergamo mid Friday evening and out Sunday early afternoon. No queues at security or passport control. Plenty of facilities -all modern and clean. On a Ryaniar flight so bussed to and from airplane even when the pane was only about 30 metres from the non-Schengen arrivals. However that is a very minor gripe. Much easier to use than Malpensa.

Milan Bergamo Airport customer review

(United Kingdom)

Transport links are not bad frequent buses to Milan and the nearest railway station. An early morning departure on Saturday though was awful. The queue to drop off bags was not long but very slow moving (I gave up and carried mine on). Queues for security very long (15-20 minutes). Once in departures it improved seating and food outlets plentiful. The toilets are another (very unpleasant) story. Bussed to the aircraft which was OK. Not appalling and a fairly typical experience when using an airport that mainly caters for low cost carriers I have known better though (and admittedly worse).

Milan Bergamo Airport customer review

(United Kingdom)

Whilst it took very little time from landing to get landside and similarly very little time from arriving at the airport to getting airside on our return journey this airport is pretty horrible and this horror (other than revolting landside toilets) is mainly encountered on your return journey. The airport is very linear which means there is considerable walking from one place to another and luggage trolleys are few and far between. The aisles to get to the security scanners are about 75m long and snake backwards and forwards 6 times before your get to them – you are not allowed to walk up the side even if there is no queue. Once airside you then start an even longer trek going up and down stairs and escalators to get to the gates. If you are travelling out of the Schengen Area you then walk even further to get to a shed with no facilities other than a few smelly toilets and an inaudible / incomprehensible tannoy system. We were bussed to our aircraft and this process took 30 minutes from getting onto the bus to getting to the aircraft because the coach just sat there waiting. The plus side of the airport is that there are plenty of cafes shops car hire companies coaches etc. The minus side is everything related to its organisation and the quality of the environment.

A reasonable airport that suffers from typical Italian problems of poor sign posting and the inability of the locals to queue! The car parking is also equally shambolic.
