"small airport with limited resources"
C Johnson (United States)
Not Verified | It’s a small airport with limited resources, however I’ve flown into Medellin several times. Their international arrivals terminal has a disproportionately small immigration section, with even fewer immigration officials. It simply does not meet standards I’ve seen at other airports I’ve gone through. I would really hope they can give themselves more resources for this as Medellin continues to grow as a destination.

"the airport is very functional"
E Scott (United States)
Not Verified | There are 2 airports in Medellin - the international airport in Rio Negro, MDE, and the in-town airport, Olaya Herrera, or EOH. We arrived at MDE and left from EOH. The passport queues at arrival at MDE were not clear about which line was for foreigners, and the lines for foreigners were long. Otherwise, it was a fairly standard arrival. The EOH airport is right in town and used for some domestic flights. The look is very 50s/60s, but the airport is very functional. Oddly, they made us buy disposable masks to go through security, but otherwise there was nothing unusual. Check in and security were quick, and there are several cafes both before and after security. There are no jetbridges, and you'll walk through seems like a small botanic garden to get to your plane. I would recommend this airport for a domestic flight if possible.

"airport services were very attentive"
1 reviews Juan Zapata (Colombia)
Not Verified | The airport services were very attentive to the plane, we arrived at 3:30 local time, when we left the plane the luggage gang was already in operation and the suitcases were in very good condition.

"needs urgent remodelling"
Miguel Salcedo-Gomez (United States)
It's an airport that is showing its age and needs urgent remodelling. Immigration, security checks and customs were relatively fast, but there are certain peak times when many international flights arrive and this may cause things to slow down. I couldn't believe my ears when asked where the elevator was and they told me that it was out of order. When travelling with heavy bags this isn't what you want to hear. Wifi, provided by Airplan, was good but tends to get slow during hectic hours. Medellin has seen a recent increase in the number of passengers, international flights and could be an alternative to the nice Bogota International Airport but a lot of effort (and work) has to be done before this materialises.
