Manila Airport customer review

(Saudi Arabia)

My first time in T3. Going through immigration is fast and quick both arriving and departing. Baggage collection and check-in is fast and quick too. The travelators were not in operation on my arrival. Duty Free needs improvement. There is not enough seating in each gate or in the food court.

"straight thru immigration"

(Australia)

Was a quick exit from the gate. Straight thru immigration. Very proficient young lady called us back to ensure we had the correct stay visa. Baggage claim took time. Straight thru customs. Watch the touts on exit. We had arranged for pick up so were assisted on exit. Traffic is horrible as expected. Its definitely a culture shock.

"Terminal 1 has finally been improved"

(Germany)

Terminal 1 has finally been improved and will be better once all constructions are finished. Terminal 2 and 3 are usually fine and the best. Terminal 4 is a horror. Similar to Metro Manila overall, there is traffic everywhere and getting to and from the airport, as well as the check-in require much patience and faith.

Manila Airport customer review

(Singapore)

I arrived at T1 at 9pm and was on a metered cab by 9.30pm. Immigration cleared in less than 5 min and I collected my baggage in about 20 mins. I think it depends on the time your flight arrives as my colleagues who arrived at 3pm had to wait an hour at immigration as there were several flights arriving at the same time. I departed via T3. Everything was smooth security was polite there is a variety of fast food choices at Level 4 a spa area some shopping. Some escalators were not working but you can take the lift instead. There are still some reno on- going but not a big deal. I used the left luggage facility to leave some stuff there for 3 days (PHP 300 per day for 1 luggage) and collected it back the day I left without any issues. Toilets were clean and wifi is strong everywhere except where the boarding gates are. I would depart via T3 again but not T1 or T2.

Manila Airport customer review

(Australia)

Terminal 1 which is currently being renovated was actually better than I expected. Arrival at 6pm on a Saturday night was a breeze. No queue at either the immigration counters or the baggage belts. I was in a taxi just 30 minutes after arrival. Departure at 5pm on a Monday was very different. Long queues everywhere (except at the Web Check In counter). Barely working air conditioning very little seating after immigration and security. The toilets were clean though and the airport staff were friendly and helpful. The cafe upstairs was quite nice with good food and drinks at reasonable prices. The boarding area was OK with lots of seats. All in all not too bad an experience. This terminal will be a lot better when the renovation is finished later this year.

"overall not bad"

(United Kingdom)

Verified Review | T3 Arrivals starts with this ridiculous health screening which, with 2 or 3 plane loads arriving at the desk simultaneously, passengers are at far greater risk of being trampled to death than contracting the Zika Virus. Immigration was a 20 minute wait at 0500hrs and at least all the Immigration booths were manned. Another 20 minutes in the Baggage Hall, unusually no queues in the taxi rank and I was departing the airport 1hr after landing which is pretty good in MNL. Departures started with a 20 minute queue just to get into T3, and a further hour at the very busy Cebu Pacific check in. I had a look at the shops upstairs but wasn't tempted with the prices - and neither was anyone else as far as I could see. All the eating places were in the fast-food / junk category, and apart from the restaurants there was hardly anywhere to sit down, and just generally noisy. Immigration was well manned (and lady'd) and Departure Security was quick and efficient. There are a few more eating places, coffee shops etc., airside, but selection isn't great with no really good bars. There is a smoking room but it's tiny and I'm not brave enough to sample the atmosphere in there. Overall not bad but passenger numbers seem to be increasing monthly in T3 and consequently pressuring the terminal.

"dramatic improvement"

(United Kingdom)

We arrived at Manila Airport Terminal 3 as an international arrival on a Cebu Pacific flight. Our arrival gate was a very long walk from immigration. The terminal was clean, mostly empty and the aircon was fine at that time. When we got to immigation after a 10 minute walk, we found about 6 passport control desks open, which for that time was excellent. There were no queues. Unfortunately the system was down, so we could not be processed. This lasted only about 5 minutes. The luggage arrived as we got to the baggage hall. Therefore a relatively straightforward arrival as we were met by family. Our next experience was from a domestic flight on Philippine Airlines. We were bussed into the terminal and it was a short walk to the baggage hall. The bags arrived in good time. No issues at all and no delays. However when we went outside to find a taxi we were met by touts. As there are major road works around the airport, I wanted a fixed price taxi. As we approached the taxi area straight out from the arrivals, there were 4 or 5 official looking people in blue uniforms. They looked official guiding passengers to waiting taxis and one of them showed us a brochure stating the fixed price to Malate was 1,800 pesos. Only last year the price was much less. Seeing the official fixed taxi price list on a pillar further along beside a taxi counter, I went to look at this. It showed a price of only 530 pesos which we accepted. It would have been very easy to take the tout rate as they looked like official operatives. Our final departure was from Terminal 1 on a Sunday. Traffic approaching the terminal was quiet. We entered the building and passed through the security in only a couple of minutes. There was no queue for our check in at Malaysia Airlines. The queue for passport control was about 5 minutes and security was a further 5 minutes. This area has been refurbished and is now bright, clean and spacious. The aircon was fine. The shopping has also been redeveloped and is much improved. However there is not much choice. We have been through the airport many times in the past. This year showed a dramatic improvement to the layout and infrastructure. Hopefully they can keep improving.

"very comfortable arrival experience"

(Philippines)

Verified Review | Very comfortable arrival experience at Manila Airport. This used to be a place that made me stressed. Not this time. Quick exit from the airplane (without the endless painful bus rides we experienced at other airports on our Europe trip). A cool climate inside the airport. Aircon units working well. Open and spacious interior (from immigration it is possible to see the outside at the other end). Impeccable and efficient immigration officers without any lines what so ever. Plenty of luggage carts neatly arranged and easily accessible. Our luggage arrived right at the beginning which was of course part of the lucky day. A quick question by customs officer and we were sent off to the what used to be the "arena" where plenty of hawkers offered various services. This time silence and friendly faces waiting to be approached if needed. Other than that total comfort. The final surprise was that we went up to the taxi stand of our choice and got named the fair price bringing us home without haggling. Even outside the airport things seemed to work better.

"immigration really frustrating"

(Australia)

Not Verified | Airport authority please review the cleanliness status on this airport terminal 3 ceiling it looks like it hasn't been clean for a year and toilet faucets almost faded already the original colour. And the lines from arrival and departure in the immigration were really frustrating to see. We travel for how many hours then we need to queue for 40 minutes to an hour. It's really disappointing that the national government hasn't upgrade yet to fully technologically method of processing of passport. You should have enough staff to cater to the needs of the travellers who want to depart and coming. It was previously really efficient now gradually turning into old habits. Long lines, no immigration forms available, and staff looks like no direction. I hope airport authority read this review and assess the degrading service in the airport.

Manila Airport customer review

(Philippines)

Terminal 3. I flew to Hong Kong via Cebu Pacific Airlines last week and came back a few days after. Line in immigration was short and fast. Place was clean but could use more restaurants and perhaps more entertainment for waiting passengers. Overall terminal 3 is a huge improvement to the very infamous and old terminal 1. I heard most of the international carriers will be moved to terminal 3.
