"what I had been expecting"
2 reviews Anselm Rayan (Australia)
As we had forward seats, we were out of the aircraft earlier than expected. At immigration was cleared promptly by a very observant immigration officer, who noticed my partner was a returning Filipina and called us back and re stamped my passport for a years stay. At the baggage claim our bags came off fine, but noticed some commotion with a local and a lot of shouting and pushing. Walked out thru green channel - nothing to declare. Watch out for touts outside, they are a menace. We had transport arrangements made so was not too stressed. Was picked up by the arrival and taken straight out. Overall I would say what it was what I had been expecting.

Travelled through T3 twice the past 2 weeks one for an international flight to HKG and another for a domestic flight to LGP. I must say that it is a major upgrade from the other terminals in terms of facilities and passenger flow but still needs some major work. Less queueing to get airside but the waiting lounges are still quite cramped especially for the international flights. I think they forgot that most of these flights involve wide body 777s or A330s and there just isn't enough room. Respectably better eating places than the other terminals but still need more choices. Shopping stalls are wanting. Toilet facilities are still severely lacking but much cleaner than T1 or T2. On arrival less queuing in the immigration area and smooth access through customs. Getting there and I hope they keep moving forward. I'd preferentially book flights out of T3 than any other terminal in MNL.

NAIA Terminal 1 Departure Hall was crowded and long queues visible. Slight noise from the on-going renovations. No queue at immigration for a change. What really surprised me was the area of the boarding gate. It has improved a lot - facilities are better the ambience is nicer the overall comfort was much better since the last time I used this airport in late January. Hopefully things will continue to improve.

"immigration takes forever"
13 reviews Michael Mejia (Philippines)
✅ Verified Review | T3 is the busiest of Manila's 4 terminals and early morning is rush hour here. With several wide body international flights (SQ, CX, DL and ANA) all departing within one hour of each other, the expected queues for departure tax payments and check in can be daunting even for those blessed with limitless patience. After check in, immigration takes forever, although one can see the efforts made by the officers to get everyone through. Security was quick and airside doesn't have the widest nor the most economical options for passengers. Air-conditioning throughout the terminal (both departure and arrival) was almost non existent. Upon arrival, one has to submit a health checklist form which, if not distributed on the plane, will cause a major backlog of passengers exiting to immigration. Immigration processing is similar to that of departure but baggage claim has improved slightly. Beyond customs is what is the definition of organized chaos. Greeters aplenty along with hotel representatives and transport touts are scattered throughout the arrival hall. Into the yellow metered taxi, one cannot help but feel exhausted after passing through this ordeal.

Manila Airport customer review
M Mejia (Philippines)
First time to fly international (actually regional) out of T3 30 July 2013. This is a definite step up from T1 and even T2. Clean uncrowded and surprisingly efficient. Got through Philippine travel tax bag drop (checked in online via 5J) terminal fee (I don't mind paying this if the facility as good as T3) customs and immigration in less than 15 minutes! Shopping and eating choices inside is limited but I didn't expect to get airside that fast so I think it contributed to the sense of lack of activity airside. I allotted 45-60 minutes for landside activity and found myself airside so fast I didn't know how to bide the time. Ended up eating lunch at one of the restaurants. Terminal was not crowded and didn't exude an air of surliness sometimes found in T1 and less often in T2. I wish some international airlines transfer to T3 so we wouldn't have to put up with T1's crowds and inefficiency.

"quite orderly and clean"
19 reviews Francis Wong (Hong Kong)
Terminal 2 in Manila is dedicated exclusively for Philippine Airlines. It is not a fancy or new looking terminal, nor one with very modern equipment, but it's still quite orderly and clean. Because of the exclusivity, the queue at the immigration is acceptable and processes people at fast enough speed. Priority check in luggage came delivered promptly. Upon departure, it's a blessing to fly in PAL business class. From check in at special counters to the use of Mabuhay lounge, it enhances the whole experience. One complaint though, the airport is not sufficiently air-conditioned, causing it to be quite hot, especially in the afternoon. Boarding arrangement is clear and orderly.

"not as bad as most of the comments here"
13 reviews Andreas Becker (Germany)
✅ Trip Verified | That airport is not as bad as most of the comments here. Used terminal 3 for my international arrival and departures and Terminal 4 for domestic. Terminal 3 is quite modern, arrival procedure was fast. From arriving the gate to leave the airport I need appr. 45 minutes which is not that bad. Departure process was also ok, I needed 30 mins from arriving check in to pass immigration and security, most of the time I needed to wait at immigration. Wifi works ok and was limited to 2 hours. Some decend shops there, but I did not see a duty free with good choice. Restaurants dont look recommendable. Smoking lounges are available but very small. Terminal 4 is more like a bus station, check in was very unefficient, after check in you need to pass to a waiting hall with several simple shops.

"had no issue navigating our way around"
H Cooper (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | My experience of Manila is only of Terminal 3, which is the newest of the four terminals at the airport. Upon arrival we had to fill out an immigration card in order to get through immigration, although we found it hard to find any blank cards as they were hardly any at the desks. However, once we had filled these out the queue for immigration was less than 10 minutes which was acceptable. The baggage reclaim area is bright and airy and the bags came through quickly. We had a five hour layover which meant we explored each and every shop in the terminal. The ground floor has a small range of shops including some high end labels and also a Starbucks, whilst the upper level has a wider selection of shops selling everything from sportswear to make up to souvenirs. There is also a good selection of eateries in this terminal, anything from fast food to a formal sit down meal. There is a small spa and an area where you can rent a bedroom if you have a longer layover although we did not use these facilities so cannot comment on what they are like. We found the toilets to be generally very clean and there are countless cleaners walking around the terminal ensuring it is kept in good order. Upon departure entry into the terminal building requires your baggage to be scanned which led to a few queues outside the building but no more than five minutes. Access to the check in areas is also controlled with only those with valid tickets for travel allowed in. Once passed security the terminal is separated into international and domestic departures and you cannot move between the two areas. We experienced both sides during our trip and as expected the international side has far more shops including a fairly extensive duty free offering. The domestic side of the departure lounge had a few eateries but mostly fast food, nothing too inspiring. Signage throughout the terminal was generally very good and we had no issue navigating our way around. There is plenty of seating both in the international and domestic departure lounges with good views of the runway and apron to one side and the Manila skyline to the other. The free Wi-Fi is only available for an hour and requires a code that is sent to you by text message so we did not use it. It is also worth mentioning that on the upper level of the terminal there is a footbridge to Resorts World where it is possible to spend a few hours browsing the shops or having a meal. It is also possible to store your luggage for free at Resorts World at either of the security desks to save you from dragging it around the shops.

Manila Airport customer review
Kay Robins (Australia)
I arrived on a flight from Ho Chi Minh travelling alone with a little 3 year old who was sick and required carrying and a 5 year old. The customs staff were excellent, attentive and showed considerable courtesy, ushering us through and providing practical assistance. The kindness the ground staff showed was very much appreciated and made my transit with a sick baby possible.

"overall quite good"
S Howard (United Kingdom)
I have heard so many horror stories about Manila Airport, anyway this is my experience, I arrived and went through passport check and straight to the luggage part of the airport, so far very good and fast and terminal 3 looked clean. However, it took over 45 minutes before I could pick up my luggage, not good. Delighted to see my friends are inside the airport unlike Cebu Airport where they are not allow inside the airport, overall quite good apart from waiting for my luggage.
