"going though security can take an eternity"
Chris Atkinson (Luxembourg)
✅ Verified Review | I use Findel often as I fly regularly to see my father and I usually fly Ryanair. Although many aspects of Findel airport are positive, I am very unhappy about two of them. 1) Early arrivals (50?) for Ryanair flights have their hand luggage "confiscated". This is because on full flights there is not enough space in the aircraft lockers. This I can understand but early passengers are punished (and risk missing connections at Stansted as a result) and late passengers are rewarded. This procedure should of course be the other way round. I was not impressed by an official's response that I should either fly Luxair or pay more for "priory boarding" 2) When two flights arrive at the same time, going though security can take an eternity. There are three booths - I have only once seen all three in operation. I wrote to complain when going through security took nearly twice as long as the flight. I was not impressed with the "word processed" reply I got which did not answer any of the points I raised. My low rating of "airport shopping" is because the airport (like many others) forces you to walk through glitzy shops whether you want to or not. And the 15 mins "free parking" is unacceptable because the "excess" rates are scandalously exorbitant.

"love this airport for its size and simplicity"
Etoile Brilliant (Sweden)
✅ Verified Review | I visit Luxembourg about 6 times a year. I love this airport for its size and simplicity. London City should take note on how a small city commuter airport should be run. Rarely are there queues at security or immigration. Moreover because the airport covers LuxAir's cargo operations, the ILS ensures that the single runway is open come fog or shine. Best of all is the bakery before security, where you can eat the breakfast of kings for little over €6. Forget to mention, free WiFi is hassle free, no registering email addresses or SMS codes - just login.

"staff here are rather rude"
Christopher Morgan (United Kingdom)
Ridiculous that the passport control desks at Luxembourg Airport are completely closed. Nobody in any of the booths - so everyone has to wait in line or sit on the floor. Plus unable to access the lounges which are there to wait in. Think that the staff here are rather rude and don't know the meaning of customer service.

Users of this airport should note that free parking is by now limited to a mere 15 min. This ridiculous decision implies that people picking you up might have to leave the parking area drive around the block just to get a new ticket a couple of minutes later. No additional income for the airport company just a little more traffic. Apart from that sign-posting of the gates can be somewhat confusing but as the place is fairly small nobody will get lost. Staff members are usually efficient and polite but occasionally the waiting time for the baggage claim can be long that is when two aircraft have landed at about the same time. If you are "invited" to use the business lounge be aware that it is located on the ground level after passing the security checks whereas the gates are one level down on minus 1. Even if the airport is fairly recent there is already some wear and tear especially in the restrooms.

I am picking up and dropping visitors and colleagues here on a regular basis. Excellent check-in facilities and short walks to gates. No lines to speak of when checking in or at security. The only annoying aspect is the 30 minute limit on free parking close to the terminal - everyone uses it to pick up arriving pax so why not make it 45 minutes or a very basic charge of say EUR 5 for one hour. 30 minutes is too short and there are no display signs in the car park or on the ground floor to tell you the flight is delayed. I can sit at home and check the arrivals remotely but not everyone lives near to the airport.

The airport is clean and quite new and reflects the country. The check-in area looks disorganised it's not very big and many of the airlines use dedicated check-in counters. Not visibly clear that you're actually at an airline's hub (compared to Frankfurt or London T5 2 Airlines stick out). The security check at the airport is really bad. The agents are rude and unfriendly. There are always long queues. No fast track. They don't know how to speak to customers. They speak to each other and look at passengers in a very degrading way. After security the only lounge at the airport is far away from first class standards but it offers all you need for a short coffee stop. The shops have a range of good priced articles but again the staff is not very nice. The gate area is not well signalled and announcements are just too many may be they should consider going silent just like other airports. The signs and screens with flight info are altogether unreadable.

Flew with CityJet. A nice open space with plenty of seating and very clean. A new building queues were almost nothing when I flew. Staff were quite nice and duty free was limited but nice. Gates were clean and efficient. Cafe/bar was very expensive. A very nice experience.

New airport and now triple length waiting in arrivals lounge. My question to the airport authorities is why has pick up time in arrivals gone from 5-10 minutes in the old airport to a minimum of 30 minutes in the new? Is this progress? The free parking lasts only 30 minutes which means having to get back in the car - do a circular tour around the airport and pick up a new entry ticket.

The airport is newly refurbished and very spacious almost too spacious like an empty warehouse. The counter staff are helpful and in general speak English French and German. A nice clean well-organised airport where crowding is not an issue.
