"totally ignored my request"

Not Verified | I have mobility problems and had booked transport assistance for when my wife and I flew into Terminal 2 after a flight from Bangkok. On arrival at the gate, a surly agent told us that my 76-year-old wife would not be allowed to ride in the (6 seat) buggy with me and would have to walk to Immigration. I declined to accept the “assistance” under these unacceptable conditions and so was forced to hobble to Immigration. Just as my wife and I were starting on this journey, the disability buggy sailed past with three empty seats. I have written to Heathrow Airport asking for details of the regulation that prohibits an elderly lady from accompanying her disabled husband on an assistance buggy but they have ignored my request

"helping me make my flight"

Trip Verified | I would like to thank Sulaiman, an employee at LHR, for helping me make my flight in such short time due to late landing and short layover. This man was waiting for me at airplane gate, and literally ran with me terminals, shuttle and security in order not to miss my flight.

"like their greedy low-cost counterparts"

Trip Verified | I was travelling from Terminal 2 on Aer Lingus and on arrival, security was breeze - I especially appreciated how efficient security personnel was in directing people in a firm but friendly manner even opening up new lanes to ensure maximum efficiency and speed in getting through to airside. However my main gripe is once through security is the departure area and the amenities within it. I used to prefer travelling through Terminal 2 but it seems since covid some shops and food places have closed down and some of the remaining ones are engaging in price-gouging. Previously you could buy a bottle of water from Boots for a £1, but it seems it has been closed own airside and everywhere else wants £2-3 for a bottle of water which is obscene. Also I checked if there was a Boots still airside before travelling as I needed some medication and didn't have time to get it before I left for the airport, and it was still listed on the website as being opposite gate B, but this was no longer the case after walking around several times getting stressed trying to find it eventually asking a member of staff who confirmed it was closed. There is now a small 'Well Pharmacy' in the appallingly expensive WHSmiths which is poor quality and unsatisfactory replacement. This is a premium terminal, with premium airlines, at a premium airport, so Heathrow really need to do better and not start behaving like their greedy low-cost counterparts like Stansted or Luton.

"Horrible luggage reclaim experience"

"airport is well connected to the city"

Not Verified | Line for immigration went smoothly and the staff were multi-lingual and well equipped to deal with the early morning rush. Luggage also came out on time and the airport is well connected to the city. Only problem are the high fares for the express train to Paddington Station.

"worst service I have ever received"

Not Verified | I arrived at T2 Heathrow in plenty of time as requested by airports advise. My flight was for 6.30am and I arrived at 3.30am. I had already gone online and done check-in with the view to just dropping off my luggage. Upon my arrival there was a huge queue and lots of passengers waiting around, which staff had asked us to wait before we could go through to bag drop off. The staff were disorganised and kept telling other passengers to wait in this specific area. We had waited until 5.30am and heard announcements for our flights, staff continued to tell us to wait in the area. It was awful, so many passengers waiting and beginning to get angry and frustrated. A later announcement was our flight was boarding and we would need to run to the gate - we had to rush through security which we were denied due to the gate closing. The rep from our airline had to let security know we were due on that flight and to let all the passengers through. Heathrow need to train their staff and organise the check-in systems it was the worst service I have ever received! The staff did not know how to manage the passenger numbers, nor have the correct information and 3 members of staff arguing about the state of poor management at T2. We could not understand why we had to wait before going through? why the staff kept us there? and almost missing our flights! This experience has certainly put me off travelling from Heathrow!

"security screening is abysmally poor"

Trip Verified | Heathrow Airport's security screening is abysmally poor. I'm at terminal 4. It's 11.40am but there are 2 out if 10 security scanning queues in operation. The backlog is so bad that you have to wait 20 mins just to scan your boarding pass. Then after that it's now another wait of 35mins and counting - looking like another 30 mins to 1hr to get through. The other mean-spirited thing is that your relatives/friends are charged for dropping you off at the curbside. It's pathetic, Heathrow. Pathetic.

"Waiting times are ridiculous"

Trip Verified | Where do I start with the weather turning bad with snow had meant cancellations at London Gatwick resulting in LH had some of the back lash of flights. Our check in lady was rude and disrespectful. Told us we wouldn’t be able to take our cabin bag with us and it would be taken off us when we got onto the plane. I explained how it’s smaller than a cabin bag but she shrugged her shoulders at me which I didn’t understand as I have never had an issue with using a cabin bag in the past. Then the security took 2 hours to go through as we were all sent outside to line up in rows going up and down up and down. The staff were so so rude and disrespectful to everyone felt very un easy and unwelcome. But our cabin bag was not questioned when boarding our flight it was fine but my advice is be advised staff are very very rude and have no people skills. Waiting times are ridiculous so leave in plenty of time I’m glad we arrived early as always just in case for issues like this.

"It was a real meat grinder"

Not Verified | Went through Heathrow both ways between US and Portugal. It was a real meat grinder. Queueing up for a 10-15 minute bus ride between terminals. Then being hustled into queues to go through a second security screening. Basically 200 people, 5 screaming airline workers (that'll do pig) and one person servicing the queue. Terminal 3, the disgusting, twisting pipe of commercial shops with it's rank smell of perfume that we were forced to walk through to our boarding gate was surreal.
