"Worst airport I have been to"

Not Verified | We had a connecting flight from Mallorca to Toronto via Lisbon. Worst airport I have been to. Even though it was a connecting flight we had to go through security again. Long line ups in snake queues. So many people were jumping the lines that security had to be called. At the gate we had to line up again, then a gate change and we lined up again! Bags that complied with size and weight were removed at the gate causing more delays! No consideration for elderly passengers that perhaps cannot stand for hours or families with young children. I am a patient person but people fighting and yelling in the line ups was disturbing.

"So kind, so helpful and so caring"

Trip Verified | Unfortunately on my flight I had a severe allergic reaction to the meal that was served. The flight attendants were AMAZING! This was the first time I have been very ill on a flight. The crew allowed me to stay in the bathroom for the entire 8 hour flight. I asked my friend to have the paramedics at the gate when we landed. I couldn't walk well or balance well. Well the paramedics Raquel and I can’t remember the other paramedics name. She was a nurse. There was another woman from a small island off the coast of Africa that came with a wheelchair for me. I was so worried that I would need to go to the hospital. Getting off the plane and seeing all three of them was such a blessing. These three woman saved me! When I saw them I knew I’d be ok. At that time I needed to know that I was in good hands. Not only did they save me They also Saved my trip! So kind, so helpful and so caring! I’m so grateful to have found these women and the entire flight crew that helped take care of me. So my only suggestion is to hire more employees like these three woman! Thank you for hiring these woman! I’ll be forever grateful to them and if and when I come back to Lisbon I’ll keep and eye out to thank the women that saved me!

"Tax free refund? Forget it"

Trip Verified | Tax free refund? Forget it! The machine is not accepting passport scans, there is NOBODY at the window, even though their operating time should be until 9-30 (after which they have a long break till 12-30, to relax after a long busy day), and the guy who came to check the machine did not repair it. Bravo, LIS airport, and a great scheme EU, swindling non-residents out of the money that does not belong to you in the first place. Zero stars, if possible.

"This is the worst airport"

Not Verified | This is the worst airport I’ve had the misfortune to travel through. I love Lisbon but won’t be returning because of this. Arrived super early and queued for nearly 2 hours to check in bags. Fast pass for security wouldn’t work - tried loads of times. Two officials ignored my pleas for help and shrugged and walked off. Asked a lad in the blue ‘help’ t shirt for assistance - utterly useless. Security as slow and my bag was put in another queue for extra checks. The security lady took forever and was laughing and joking with a Portuguese man who had packed 3 large papers of scissors in hand luggage. She was deliberately slow and rude and others were upset as they were also going to miss flights. Took an extra 20 mins and she didn’t even check my bag! Then the nightmare that was passport control (again) - one person on the booths in the height of summer. I ended up pushing in because my flight was 10 mins away from leaving. Had to run to the gate - have never had to do this before. Stood in queues for 3.5 hours & only got my flight because it was delayed. Utterly disgraceful and a poor representation of the Portuguese people who had been so delightful in Lisbon. I would give zero stars if possible. (My luggage got damaged too! Forgot that part!)

"Very bad customer service"

Not Verified | Very bad customer service. Immigration staff are really bad and rude. Having a Portugal passport doesn’t mean everyone everyone knows Portuguese please let your immigration staff know about really very bad staff. Secondly staff don’t communicate with the airline so customers miss the flight and they have to ending up buying new tickets due to ques at checkin and immigration. So disappointing staff at Lisbon airport

"seating area was not adequate"

Not Verified | Absolutely disgusted with the conditions offered to us. An absolutely packed flight with a waiting area that not even Ryanair passengers would expect. Children, elderly people all sat on the floor because the seating area was obviously not adequate. Being a Portuguese citizen myself, I'm embarrassed and I'm now going back to England with tremendous pain on my back because of how long I had to stay seated with my daughter on the floor. Absolutely ridiculous!

"overall experience is really bad"

Not Verified | As others have mentioned, the airport is really falling apart. The waiting lines start with waiting the buses - it’s clear on overcapacity with very few airplanes using fingers. For an intercontinental flight with more than 300 passengers, the waiting time between landing and taking the bus to the terminal was more than 30min. At the terminal, the lines for the passport control are just crazy. Luckily we had priority, otherwise we would probably have lost our next flight, that had a 2:10min connection time. Expect also queues at the food court, this is also clear under estimated. Further at the terminal, the air conditioning is just ridiculous low. On a summer day with 33C and a super crowded terminal, it was really uncomfortable. The overall experience is really bad.

"queue at passport control is FOUR hours"

Trip Verified | My international flights from Manila was on time to the minute to Lisbon airport, then the queue at passport control is FOUR hours. Blatantly keeping thousands of passengers waiting with an occupation of two or sometimes three immigration officers. That's how Portugal treats its tourists and resident holders who come in and spend so much money. Shameless.

"Very bad experience"

Not Verified | Every facet of this airport sucked. Getting your bags up the curb where the bus let us off to getting to the gate were all made difficult because of access and location of the gates. Getting thru security was a nightmare and you had to do it twice, no moving sidewalks and after waiting in one line for an hour we were told it was the wrong one and then directed to another line where we waited another hour. Very bad experience.

"worst airport I have experienced"

Not Verified | This is the worst airport I have experienced in my life. I was not alerted in advance by TAP airlines to a customs worker strike at the passport check area before accessing boarding gates. Thousands of people were in line with only a handful of agents checking passports, causing me to miss my flight to London to connect with my return flight to LAX. The airport was mass chaos and no one was helpful or even apologetic. The signage is awful and the bathrooms a mess. I could not rebook my flight until 24 hours later, costing me a rebooking fee, loss of Business Class seats, plus overnight accommodations and meals. Portugal is a beautiful country but I will likely never return because of my Lisbon airport experience.
