"boarding procedures take too long"
D Freitas (Portugal)
✅ Verified Review | As I was in transit I had to wait a long time at this airport. I ended up finding a less hectic spot but the wifi connection even though free was constantly breaking down. Boarding procedures take too long and are just not efficient but that, I guess, actually had more to do with the airline I was flying with. I used the drinking machine and for a bottle of water that would cost 1.5 € I spent at least 3 € as it was constantly processing the coins I introduced at a lower value than they really were. Be careful with this as it's really no coincidence.

"unable to cope with the number of passengers"
M Richards (Netherlands)
✅ Verified Review |
Terminal 2 at Lisbon airport is completely unable to cope with the number of passengers coming through. It is seriously overcrowded up to a point where I start to doubt safety. And that's on a weekday in November. I shudder to think how bad it may be during busy summer weekends.

"airport easy to navigate "
Michael Cox (United Kingdom)
✅ Verified Review | Travelling mid week but airport easy to navigate and checking, security all with no queues and helpful staff. Signage had to be looked for as main area in the terminal has both arrivals and departures which needed to be understood to progress to the gates, otherwise a very good experience.

"poor signage"
16 reviews Ralph Jones (United Kingdom)
Lisbon is a very functional airport and gates quite close together, albeit bus transport is used as well. But poor signage makes navigation not the easiest in a country that navigated the world. But many airline staff, English speaking, on hand and helpful. Boarding is well organised as well. Toilets are clean and food reasonably priced too. Aircraft queuing is minimal as well which is a bonus.

"in was going at a snail's pace"
D Vermette (Canada)
Arrived at T1 almost 3 hours before the flight. The computers were down for 2 hours, so check in was going at a snail's pace. When we finally got to the check-in desk, they went down again, and the agent at one of the four desks just up and left, and never came back. When the system came up again, we checked in, but the agent did not tell us that our checked in baggage was tagged thru to our final destination (we had a connecting flight in Toronto), so when we got to Toronto, we almost missed our connector because we were looking for our bags. We had no time to peruse the airport's facilities (which looked very nice), because the flight was already boarding. It left over 1/2 hour late because of the computer glitch. I was last at this airport 9 years ago, and don't remember the exact circumstances, but it was also a hassle.

"the worst of the many airports I've been to"
T Janssen (Netherlands)
✅ Verified Review | What a poor experience from beginning to end. From arrival (T2) you are bussed along the entire length of the T1 only to then have to walk the same distance back. I guess passing the shops is the reason for this. Then, a single counter for the busses has a queue from inside the terminal to outside. The metro station has a single counter open, and all but two tickets machines open resulting in huge queues. The wait is over one hour. This was the days in a row, not incidental. Queue for taxi about 30 min and the 'high frequency' aerobus runs every hour with people packed like sardines. T2 for departure is ok, no real problems there but expect nothing after (or before) security. Easily the worst of the many airports I've been to. No effective connectivity to the city whatsoever. Appalling.

"security took over 1.5 hours"
David Spangholm (Denmark)
The queue for security at Lisbon airport took over 1.5 hours. It seemed very unorganized. After 1 hour and 15 minutes we asked staff to help us through faster because there were only 15 minutes to our departure. They refused to help and refused to help several other people. We passed security 10 minutes after the planned departure of our plane. The airport didn't use all the scanners. The staff seemed like they didn't Care. It was not okay. We arrived at the airport 1 hour and 45 minutes before our 8:30 departure on a Saturday. You apparently need to arrive at least 2 hours before.

"incredibly inefficient"
Michael Brez (Austria)
The organization of check-in, baggage drop off and gate queuing seems incredibly inefficient. The airport homepage requires passengers arrive at the airport 90 minutes before boarding, but even this seems tight. There are numerous self-check-in terminals, however after having printed out baggage tags ourselves, it still required 60 minutes queuing before the baggage drop.

"an improved airport"
3 reviews Assis Pontes (South Africa)
My last visit to the Lisbon airport was rather disappointing a few years ago. Transit dictated Lisbon again. I was surprised, there have been upgrades, bigger spaces, better retail options, new lounges, and toilets are an improvement. WiFi offered is rather patchy. An improved airport.

"airport meets no standards"
Mohammed Qureshi (United Kingdom)
Sitting here at Lisbon Airport terminal 1. At a first glance it's a nice terminal but it's not clean. The smoking area is dirty. Ashtrays over flowing, cans and paper cups scattered on the tables. I don't think it's been cleaned for at least 4/5 hours. Toilets are unclean. The restarant is not really a restaurant yet it's called First Class. No real choice of food. When asked for something that's on their menu, I was told they don't have it. Food is badly cooked. Very difficult to find food that caters for: Vegetarians, Coeliac and Muslims. All in all, extremely disappointed. I'm supposed to be in the EU. This airport meets no standards. It's supposed to be an international airport.
