"overall experience is really bad"

Not Verified | As others have mentioned, the airport is really falling apart. The waiting lines start with waiting the buses - it’s clear on overcapacity with very few airplanes using fingers. For an intercontinental flight with more than 300 passengers, the waiting time between landing and taking the bus to the terminal was more than 30min. At the terminal, the lines for the passport control are just crazy. Luckily we had priority, otherwise we would probably have lost our next flight, that had a 2:10min connection time. Expect also queues at the food court, this is also clear under estimated. Further at the terminal, the air conditioning is just ridiculous low. On a summer day with 33C and a super crowded terminal, it was really uncomfortable. The overall experience is really bad.

"queue at passport control is FOUR hours"

Trip Verified | My international flights from Manila was on time to the minute to Lisbon airport, then the queue at passport control is FOUR hours. Blatantly keeping thousands of passengers waiting with an occupation of two or sometimes three immigration officers. That's how Portugal treats its tourists and resident holders who come in and spend so much money. Shameless.

"Very bad experience"

Not Verified | Every facet of this airport sucked. Getting your bags up the curb where the bus let us off to getting to the gate were all made difficult because of access and location of the gates. Getting thru security was a nightmare and you had to do it twice, no moving sidewalks and after waiting in one line for an hour we were told it was the wrong one and then directed to another line where we waited another hour. Very bad experience.

"worst airport I have experienced"

Not Verified | This is the worst airport I have experienced in my life. I was not alerted in advance by TAP airlines to a customs worker strike at the passport check area before accessing boarding gates. Thousands of people were in line with only a handful of agents checking passports, causing me to miss my flight to London to connect with my return flight to LAX. The airport was mass chaos and no one was helpful or even apologetic. The signage is awful and the bathrooms a mess. I could not rebook my flight until 24 hours later, costing me a rebooking fee, loss of Business Class seats, plus overnight accommodations and meals. Portugal is a beautiful country but I will likely never return because of my Lisbon airport experience.

"queue was huge at the check-in"

Trip Verified | The queue was huge at the check-in, and took over an hour to get through- no self-check-in machine (for Finnair) and baggage drop, another 20 mins at the security (this was ok and moved quickly), but at the queue at the tax free would have been another 30mins (not enough tills) so couldn't buy anything as I would have missed my flight (despite being there 2,5hrs earlier). Otherwise seemed to have good selection of shops, cafees and bars. Just arrive early if you want to shop!

"poor state of the restrooms"

Trip Verified | I entered the restrooms near the food court I’m terminal 1 next to the Versailles rotisserie shop. I had to hold my breath due to the smell. Maybe it was the ventilation system, but the floor was pretty wet and I did my business as fast as I could. Upon leaving, I encountered a place to rate the cleanliness of the restrooms and pushed the voting button for “poor”. I usually grade these things pretty leniently, but my wife had commented that she could smell the odor from the outside on her way to the women’s room. Anyway, after I pushed poor, a man confronted me and said “porque?” And glared at me. I pointed to my nose and said “no bueno” so he could understand that I objected to the smell. He then stared right at me and then repeatedly pushed the “excellent” button as if to cancel out my vote. I then noticed that he was an airport employee The purpose of the voting button is to get anonymous feedback which should indicate where improvements are needed. This employee seemed to be monitoring the buttons and getting defensive. So, I wasn’t surprised at the poor state of the restrooms.

"I don't understand how you can keep yelling"

Trip Verified | Everything was fine. I've gone through this airport without a hitch. Everyone is usually pleasant and accommodating. Until today. I was departing with my mom, who needed wheelchair assistance. We were going through crew security. Since my mom cannot lift anything heavy, I was the one in charge of putting her bag onto the x-ray. Once I had placed everything, I proceeded to go through the sensor machine. I was then yelled at by this woman, I was alarmed because one she wasn't at her station and was somewhere else chitchatting away. I know it was partly my fault for going through not waiting for someone's signal. She then kept repeating something in Portuguese. I did not understand her. When I told her I didn't understand she them proceeded to yell at me more and then said sorry and shrugged her shoulders. When I was getting our items off the x-ray belt she them yelled at me again in Portuguese. I was like I dont understand what you're saying. She then started yelling again. I don't understand how you can keep yelling and asking me to do something, when I said I don't understand. Other than this experience I do like this airport.

"Schengen zone is not big enough"

Not Verified | So arrived from Chicago to a bus gate. Not enough gates in Lisbon, no need to clear security. The Schengen zone in Lisbon is not big enough. Not a lot of shops not a lounge. A couple of cafes and duty free. OK if it is not a long layover. There is a lounge in the non Schengen zone, but required clearing immigration which I did not have enough time for. Departure to Israel required special screening which I went through. The airport needs some face lift. There are lines into the main hall corridor. Lots of light. Anyway at least there were no long walks. Staff courteous.

Lisbon Airport customer review

Trip Verified | Airport staff are actively provocative towards passengers. I just had the weirdest interaction with one of them: I was called outright rude for scanning my boarding pass on my own immediately which you usually do by yourself before security check and after entering the airport restricted area to passengers. There was a woman there taking and touching everyone's mobile phones to actually do the scanning. What is she doing exactly?

"lack of shops to purchase essential products"

Trip Verified | Lisbon Airport is below standard. I write in particular about the lack of shops to purchase essential products. You would think that an Airport that's catered for people would have a pharmacy. For example to pick up some paracetamol, immodium, hand sanitiser sanitary products etc. There is nothing in Terminal 2. My local newsagents caters more to the average person. Please think about the people that use your Airport as its currently not fit for purpose.
