Libreville Airport

Libreville Airport is certainly not the worst airport in the region but not the best either. Staff very civil servant minded with a lot of arrogance vis a vis passengers. A good point is that on arrival luggage is quick to be on the belts. A bad one is that air conditioning is not efficient at all and we are in a tropical country.

This is a well-laid out and efficient airport. On international arrivals passport control was efficient as was the luggage claim. On international departure the various formalities (check-in immigration security) were all adequately staffed and efficient. Facilities are plenty before security though minimal after clearing immigration and security - a few duty free shops selling alcohol perfume and cigarettes and a quite limited bar. The domestic part of the airport is more or less the same though the facilities after security is even more spartan limited to a vending machine for water or soft drinks. Notably there were no restroom facilities in the waiting lounge.

ADD YOUR COMMENTS Very pleasant and open design. Arrival was easy and there was absolutely no hassle once we cleared the secure baggage area. Marked taxis were available outside. Check in was conducted in a secure area which you cannot leave once you enter so ensure you are not hungry because nothing other than a small cafe and some duty free stores are available on the gate side. Compared to other airports in the region this one is very good.
