Leeds Bradford has a dreadful and distant approach for passengers - the barriers and drop-off arrangements are some of the worst in the world. It seems to have been assumed this is a centre of terrorist attack and the precautions are ludicrous ! IDH airport of the capital of the western world actually allows drop-offs at the doors ! The Jet2 terminal looks like a temporary building and the security queues are a joke !

Excellent check in - literally two minutes. Food hall ok although limited choice. Security was quick and departure hall was clean and not overly busy - although it can be very busy Friday/Saturday. Arrival was quick - there was a queue at immigration but all desks were open and we queued for no more than five minutes. The baggage reclaim area was a breeze and no queue for baggage. I used the short stay car park - whilst its fairly expensive it is in front of the terminal and very convenient.

I found Check-in and security a breeze. Departure lounge fairly busy but plenty of seating - downside was food smell downstairs from the food outlet. On arrival back immigration fairly busy but queued no more than 5 minutes. Arrivals hall very busy - 5 flights sharing 4 carousels. However bags off and collected in 10 minutes and out out of the onsite car park 5 minutes after that.

Having moved to Germany and had to frequent LBA much more I am appalled at the security provisions ie length of wait and their attitude. I was going to ignore my last flight to Dusseldorf on 26th March with Jet 2 but it still remains with me. One screen in use 3-4 personnel hanging around passengers shouted at for their mobile ringing. Where does it say they have to be turned off? I tried to tell myself they were being so secure in their searches but the mobile phone I had lost was in my bag they missed that even though I asked them to look for it. Overseas visitors were trying to jump the queue as they were frightened of missing their flight everybody was hot bothered and stressed and surrounded by noisy youths who were not told to switch off. My flight was delayed due to security not that Jet 2 seemed bothered and the shop was empty because like me I had no time to do the shopping I wanted to do. I also had a bet with my husband which I lost over being challenged about my plastic bag for toiletries that was the first time they did not challenge what had always been acceptable in Stuttgart Amsterdam and Dusseldorf?

Pre booking car parking - if you are taking two cars you need to use two separate visa/credit/debit cards unless you will be charged again and then £10.00 refund fee for your trouble is applicable. This is after receiving E mails to confirm both bookings and instructions. Its the first time I have prebooked this service but will use alternative in future. Had to wait 6 hours for call to be returned and 7 days for a refund!

I travel every couple of months from Düsseldorf to Leeds Bradford and am grateful for the connection. I agree that the facilities leave a lot to be desired. There are too few gates and there is not enough seating for people waiting. Thank goodness Jet2 has its own check-in area. The forecourt work is a disaster. While one appreciates the need to create stand-off in front of the terminal it is made ridiculous by the fact that the extra short-term parking area is within lobbing distance of any old projectile over a wire netting fence to where the aircraft are parked. Good job I'm neither a terrorist nor a litter bug. Every time I drop someone off or get collected by kind relatives the parking situation is worse and the distance for luggage heaving longer. Oh for adequate parking a decent eaterie and more seating in the arrivals waiting area. The contrast between hand baggage checks at the respective ends of my journey (Düsseldorf and Leeds Bradford) is like day and night. In DUS they are sensible humane polite reasonable. At L/B they are officious unfriendly aggressive careless with people's property and sloppy in their personal manners. Either the equipment must be incredibly inefficient or they recruit "Jobsworths" only. Hateful experience for most travellers.

I didn't think Leeds airport could get worse but it has! The 'improvements' have to be seen to be believed. On a cold foggy night no-one knew where they could be collected. Total traffic jam in car park. I will go to any lengths to avoid this airport now but unfortunately my daughter lives in Leeds.

This airport is a shambles and disgrace to West Yorkshire. When it is not fogbound it is a traveller's nightmare with onerous walks with baggage from transport to airport (particularly if you rent a car) and chaotic check-in desks. The internal layout is very poorly planned with many bottlenecks and crazy queues in corridors to access security and too few check-in desks. Very poor.

What a shambles of an airport. I'm finding it very difficult to think of anything positive to say about this place at all. In relation to it's position as the main airport for West Yorkshire it is nothing short of an appalling. I can see there are plans to upgrade the facility that look as if they have started already. Maybe the best plan would have been to flatten it and start again. The final straw was them trying to board two flights from the same gate at the same time. My BMI flight to Heathrow was shown on the screen as boarding but when you went to the gate they were still boarding a Jet2 flight to Amsterdam. Total chaos as London passengers were being asked to step aside and eventually blocked the gate completely while the final stragglers for the Amsterdam flight were still turning up. It's not as if either plane were docked as both sets of passengers had to walk out in the wind and rain over the apron to get to their planes. Surely a quick change of gate for either one of the flights would have worked better. Anyway I digress this airport is a shambles from start to finish.

Good short stay parking is all this airport has going for it. Catering facilities are poor and inadequate. High elevated position of airport & runway results in far too many delays re-routes and cancellations due to fog / adverse weather conditions.
