I have used LBA many times. The main impression this airport gives is that passengers are the least important people. Passengers have to walk the length of a football pitch with baggage from the so called drop off carpark (and get charged £2 for the privilege). Much bigger airports have not stopped passengers being dropped off outside the entrance. Add this to the longest waiting queues at passport control and for baggage. Where have all the seats in the check-in area gone? Not everyone wants to go straight through but there are only about half a dozen seats in the whole area. There used to be a taxi rank outside arrivals where there were plenty of taxis you now have to go across the football pitch and queue up in the Arrow office to book your taxi and then wait for your taxi to arrive - what a farce!

Peak time Friday in late August no queues for Jet2 check-in. Quick through security (esp comparing Liverpool or Man). Other side there were free tables by windows looking out over runway away from bar and restaurant area so quite relaxed waiting. Jet2 gate queuing area is a bit of a shed but you are not there long. Not surprised at charge for dropping off as the front areas are small and have not grown with the airport.

Cramped and over-crowded. Tatty seats if you can find one. Most space is given over to bars cafes and a 'Premier Lounge' that has to be paid for. Just to drop someone off for a flight it costs £2. Only one firm of taxis (private hire) are allowed to queue for business.

This tiny little airport charges you for everything then fails to offer any kind of customer service. To drop off passengers you are charged at least £2. Then there is the car park charge machine. £2.50 for using a credit card to pay. As for customer service I witnessed incredibly arrogant behaviour from its staff. It was appalling to see. Jet2 had failed to bring over half the customers bags back from Ibiza. No communication to the waiting families. There is no common sense or discretion. Small minded small airport rip off mentality.

The drop off charge of £2 is nothing short of extortion. I will be looking at moving my flights to/from one of the other local airports.

£2 to travel through the drop off point is a disgrace. I don't want to stop or take my time (30 mins) I just want to drop someone off. There is minimal notice until you get into the one way system by which time of course you can't legally turn back. I have never before seen such a blatantly unfair charge at an airport LBA you should be ashamed of yourselves.

The £2 charge to pass through drop off areas is outrageous. I will travel from Harrogate to Manchester airport by train door to door even though it is further and cost more. How much longer is the LBA brand going to be damaged for?

My daughter dropped me off and was astounded to have to pay £2 to pass through this area. Previously used this you could drop off passengers as long as you weren't more than 10 mins. This doesn't encourage people to use this airport.

The introduction of a £2 drop-off or pick-up charge at the nearest car park to the airport is outrageous. The free alternative is half a mile from the terminal involving a shuttle bus ride. This will lead to people parking outside the airport boundary to wait for flights and gives the airport a really bad name.

The only positive thing I can really say about LBA is that it is close to where I live. That used to be a great advantage because it meant that I could be dropped off by a relative rather than having to park or get a taxi. My father hadn't expected the charge and didn't have money with him. It was only due to someone's generosity that he was able to leave the car park. Security and passport control are overly busy with inconsistent instructions being given to people. When you eventually get to the departure lounge the toilets are dirty and there is no where to sit. Tables in the upstairs cafe are full of dirty trays and the staff struggle to cope with a queue. So many people were queuing for the shops downstairs that people could not get off the down-escalator causing a pile-up. Getting rid of the shop would make things more pleasant for people but the cynic in me thinks that would be the last thing to go. When you arrive back and want a taxi there is a strange system. What's wrong with a normal rank like every other airport. LBA used to be a good regional airport but it has seriously deteriorated in the last few years.
