"much better than slow airport bus"

Verified Review | Flew from CKG-LHW on Sichuan Airlines, a pleasant enough flight. We used an airbridge in the older Terminal 1, while the booking hall is now closed, the baggage hall and arrivals remain the same for Terminal 1. The high speed railway has been completed, so I decided to catch the train to Lanzhou West railway station. The train station is a short walk to the left from the exit of Terminal 1, opposite Terminal 2. There was only a short queue for tickets in the Ticket hall, to the right of the station entrance, about ¥‎22 for First class on the very next train. Travel time was about 40 minutes. All in all, it was much better than slow airport bus and ¥‎200 taxi options.

Lanzhou Airport customer review

Having travelled via this airport several times before, this was the first time using the new Terminal 2. Access to the airport is still painfully long and slow from the city, with no advantage over taxi and the airport buses, however progress can be seen on the high-speed railway to cover the 70km into Lanzhou. The new terminal is light and airy and much better than the concrete lifeless box that is Terminal 1. The multitude of check-in counters are a big improvement on the old terminal. Security check is typical of China with little space actually given for the lines of people trying remove laptops and metallic objects. The choices for food and shopping has also greatly improved both on air and landside. My gate was still within the connected old Terminal 1 which required a very long walk with no travelators available. The old terminal check-in hall seems to be closed and mothballed at the moment, awaiting renovation after the opening of the newer terminal. The airport staff were fantastic, when they gave me their personal phone to call my destination hotel, after it was apparent that my flight was to be delayed. All in all, it is a much nicer experience flying through here.
