"there are very limited facilities"
James Martin (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | A truly horrible airport with a makeshift immigration area that has simply sliced the departures area in half. Unfriendly security staff, and once "airside" there are very limited facilities, not to mention seating areas in abundance. The cafe and bar and shops are mostly all manned by eastern European migrants, and the actual gate areas are a relic from the 1970's, around 40 seats for 100 plus passengers. They extended and remastered this airport shortly after they culled tourism. There once was a lovely open air rooftop viewing area, which then became a glassed in lounge, now even that has gone. Couldn't wait to leave the depressing airport for the last time.

"queue to pass through the scanner took 10 minutes"
Gary Hudson (United Kingdom)
Not Verified | Efficient, frequent bus service from St Helier is a good way to get to the airport, but once there it goes downhill. The first security check (boarding pass) is quick and easy but wouldn't necessarily say friendly. The next, bags etc, despite 2 belts in operation, and at least 12 staff members that I could see, the queue to pass through the scanner took 10 minutes, even though I was number 6 in queue. Some of the staff must be either very new, or unable to cope with, what I would say not unusual circumstances, such as 3 wheelchairs passengers arriving. Even after that wait, selected for random screening (don't mind too much though, as best to be safe), but the biggest bug bear, the public (one and only) bar had sullen staff, looking like they'd rather be somewhere else (wouldn't we all), then for strange reason their bosses have decided to stop selling their best selling drink, Carling Lager, and replaced it with San Miguel at approx 70p more per pint, probably suggesting this was a more 'in' drink. If a nice tasting lager it may be, but I certainly won't be racing to that bar again, somewhere enjoyed a pre departure drink many a time. These airport bar bosses may think they're making more money by selling the more expensive drink, but I know many who will do exactly the same as me, and bypass that bar once they've realised this ridiculous change.

"totally fed up and disinterested in their job"
C Ranger (United Kingdom)
Not Verified | Bar and restaurant staff appeared to be totally fed up and disinterested in their job. Could do a lot better. Rest of the airport was fine and very clean.

"Lots of seating"
Julie Myatt (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | Lots of seating. Not enough electric plugs or charge points. WiFi was hopeless - it didn’t work. Tannoy too loud. Staff seem nice enough. Appeared clean.

"pleasant and helpful staff"
Heather Edmondson (United Kingdom)
Not Verified | Very pleasant and helpful staff. With my arm in a sling it was hard to do most things but staff were ready to help and the canteen staff were friendly and professional. Could do with more shops and a better variety.

"flights are always delayed"
P Tyler (United Kingdom)
Not Verified | I don’t know what goes on with this airport but flights are always delayed and staff do nothing to help you with it. Hardly any seating, no variety in shops or food choices. Fast queues is the only good thing.

"it was a very pleasant experience"
T Olliver (United Kingdom)
❎ Unverified | The arrivals area is pretty shabby but from disembarking the plane to getting on the bus to St Helier took less than 15 minutes. We departed from Jersey late afternoon on a Saturday when it was very quiet and so it was a very pleasant experience. The staff at security and in the shops were all helpful and charming. For the size of the airport the selection of shops and food were decent although there did seem to be a lack of seating after security, however there was plenty at the gate.

"arrivals is lifeless"
Brenda Walls (Australia)
✅ Verified Review | I travel to Jersey regularly and am rather underwhelmed with the airport. Arrivals is lifeless, however staff are very nice and even helped me take my luggage off the carousel and onto my trolley. There is also plenty of free tourist brochures and maps available if you want them. Departures is a bit odd. Check in was fast as I used the priority lane, but the security people were very thorough which is fine, except when they are rude as well. There are plenty of shops etc, particularly given the size of the airport. However, the airline lounge is after a one way door. If you want to go back to the shops you can't! I have no idea what they were thinking when they designed that part.

"need re-training in customer care"
Ronald Kempson (United Kingdom)
My partner and I had been to Jersey airport the same time last year so could compare the service. This time the check girl was not at all friendly, we travel all the time and always greet people with a greeting and a warm smile but did not get any return of a greeting. This was the same service we had with the girl at the first contact point where you go towards the security, also no greeting. I would suggest they all need re-training in customer care, or perhaps a change in vocation.

"A mixed experience at Jersey airport"
Paul Van Alsten (France)
A mixed experience at Jersey airport. Arrival is quick and straightforward: less than 10 min from deplaning until exit. However the arrival area is appallingly ugly (old terminal) - not welcoming for visitors of this lovely island. Frequent and convenient bus connection to St Helier via St Aubin: line 15 runs every 15-30 min and costs £2.00 one-way. Sit on the upper deck to enjoy scenic views of the countryside and St Aubin's Bay. Disappointing experience upon departure: cramped security area with long queue, but staff were friendly. As at most UK airports limited seating facilities in the departure area - most space occupied by shops and restaurants. Useful to know: do not proceed to the gates until your flight is called. The boarding pier is very cold and dark and it is forbidden to walk back to the shop area. There is free WiFi in the airport.
