Jakarta Airport

From outside Soekarno–Hatta International Airport in Jakarta you don't think you are approaching and airport, it has like a hotel roof, I liked it. Inside is average, needs improvement mainly in the bathrooms. The airport is quite warm and trolleys were not enough for everybody. Parking lot was full and is tight.

The terminal was crowded even though it was early morning, around 4am local time. General check-in queue was too long and I think it didn't have enough check-in counters to accomodate all passengers. The toilet was clean but I found it a bit smelly. Waiting room was too small and not enough seats and there were 3 or 4 flights departing from that gate (got the flight on gate F4).

The airport was not clean. There is not enough seats to sit outside the gate. The airport was very crowded. But for an old airport and an over capacity we have to understand them. They are trying to improve their standards. The crew and Staff were very kind. I think the airport needs to tell staff at the information counter to learn more about the airport, when I asked them about where a shop was they were very doubtful with their answer.

Why are there always long visa queues? Was here 2 years ago and nothing has improved! Have a legitimate 1 year multiple entry business visa but wait 30 minutes to go through immigration. Observe Changi in Singapore: World class airport for good reason(s).

Definitely one of the worst airports in the world. Arriving from Singapore on an AF flight and trying to pay the ever increasing and exorbitant $35 tax the clerk would not accept my 5 and 1 dollars bills and insisted I withdraw money from the ATM machine nearby which I refused! Went into a scuffle with this unfriendly male and after several insults from both sides I decide to move to another more friendly clerk. Left the following day for DPS on a Lion Air flight from terminal 3 and the complete lack of information is unacceptable. Once in the departure lounge there is no signage gate numbers or any kind of information regarding the departing flights! Very few signs in English no FB outlets and you always have to approach the single gate manned by exhausted (but rather friendly I must say) gates agents to find out about your flight gate and departure time plenty of announcements but they are inaudible. My real question is since Indonesia is the only Asian country (and possibly in the world) to impose a heavy tax when you arrive and again when you leave the country what is happening with the money? Why no improvement in the passengers services? I have been visiting Bali regularly for the last 26 years and I think this will be my very last time.

Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport is clean not crowded and overall is good. But I recommend avoid terminal 1.

I'm not very pleased by the airport cleanliness and I really hate the crowds. But for an old airport and an over capacity we have to understand them. They have given their best for us. They have upgraded their airport and now they have a project to enlarge their airport (Terminal 3). The airport is under construction and we have to understand them. The crew and staff are very nice so I will give another review after the airport's construction is done.

Arrived Jakarta from Singapore on 16th December. There was only 2 out 6 VOA counters that were open. took 1.5 hrs to come out of the airport. The only airport with an old structure.

I have flown from CGK quite frequently in the past few years. Having used all terminals in CGK from T1 T2 and T3 all I can say that CGK is getting better every year compared to four to five years ago. What needs to be improved is the cleanliness and airport management. It often gets very busy on arrival imagine 4-5 international flights with wide body aircraft arriving at almost the same time and the immigration gets very busy and might take you more than 30 mins to get through immigration. Some facilities are also old and aged. Toilets are also sometimes really dirty (although I know sometimes it is the people are ignorant of this situation). I think as the main gate and touch point of Indonesia CGK needs to be more attractive to show the progress Indonesia has made in the past few years. Aside from that it has a decent duty free shop but lacks of variety of restaurant.

The airport was good. There are lots of projects to improve the airport. The toilets were quite clean. There are small boarding gates Some airplanes must board from a remote stand.
