"facilities are cute and basic"

(Australia)

Not Verified | No one checked our vaccination upon entry which raises alarm bells. Jetstar staff as usual are incredibly rude and money grabbing. The facilities are cute and basic.

"contactless payments should be free"

(Australia)

Trip Verified | The business constantly overcharge a PayPass fee even when you tell them you are going to insert your card they will automatically charge the extra amount. Very dodgy Hobart airport especially during covid when contactless payments should be free.

"disappointed with this airport"

(Australia)

Not Verified | The food and beverage selections are appalling. For a state that has some amazing wineries and craft breweries there are no options to purchase any of these great things at the airport. Come on, promote and celebrate the amazing tourist potential of this state rather than sell bland mass produced selections. Also this must be worse airport in Australia to charge your devices, there must be only 10 powerpoints hidden in really obscure places. Very disappointed with this airport.

"satisfactory experience"

(Australia)

Trip Verified | First time being in Tasmania for a business trip. I was first surprised by the tiny size of the airport. There were no boarding bridges, all you have to do is to walk across a bunch of walkways and that leads you into a corridor, where they have dogs detecting food and anything that are not allowed to bring into TAS. Then, you will see the parking lot like 10 meters ahead of you, it's that tiny. All I know if that the Latte they offered there were pretty good. There are several gift shops that sell a large variety of gifts, snacks, and books to read on your ride. Something I found interesting is that the airplanes are not being pushbacked, rather they park at sort of a 45-degree angle to the terminal, and when they are ready to depart, they simply turn out onto the taxiway on their own power. One thing I really disliked about this airport is that the wifi there are intermittent, and the speed is the type that lags even when watching videos at 144p resolution. Overall satisfactory experience and I would recommend it.

"no fresh food and no choice"

(Australia)

I think the airport itself is absolutely fine but the food choices are absolutely appalling if you are traveling after 5. We had a delay and a 4 hour wait and all that was available was one cafe selling pizza, pasta and toasted sandwiches which were exhorbitantly expensive and not very nice. There was no fresh food and no choice. A disappointing end to an absolutely brilliant 10 day road trip around that lovely state.

"can't wait for the renovations to be finished"

(Australia)

Every time on arrival from either holiday, work meetings interstate or visiting relatives in Melbourne, I feel all the renovations look great but please put the car park ticket machines near the carousel / arrival hall out of the weather. When some people pay at the gate they hold up the traffic. I travel with Virgin regularly and can't wait for the renovations to be finished.

Hobart Airport customer review

(United Kingdom)

Flew in and out and had no problems despite the fact the airport is partly under reconstruction. On arrival our plane parked close to the terminal and bags soon arrived on the single very small belt. Car Hire has moved across the road and is a short walk away. Plenty of buses and taxis were there to meet passengers. Departure check-in was quick the lounge has enough seats for flights and there are adequate cafes and shops to keep most people content. This is a small rural airport which works well and gives a flying experience like it used to be in the old days.

Hobart Airport customer review

Airports do not come much smaller than this - easy to use both inbound and outbound. Currently undergoing some expansion work but there were no difficulties because of that. Airside there are refreshments a bookshop tourist junk and internet. Landside not a lot.

Hobart Airport customer review

I've only flown into Hobart once (and out of Tasmania via Launceston) so my comments will be limited to the arrival side. Virgin Blue passengers now get to use a baggage carousel (basically a long conveyor belt) however the baggage pickup area is very small and quickly became crowded even though my Virgin Blue flight wasn't very full. It was rainy when I arrived so I wasn't too keen on the lack of jetways but it did allow my flight to empty quite quickly as we had the use of two doors. I like Hobart's on-site car rental (unlike Launceston) but the separate rental car terminal shared by several companies was very small and was too quite crowded.

Hobart Airport customer review

Hobart Airport is much more user friendly now though the terminals have not been connected so Jetstar passengers are still relegated to the old botched "international" venture built for the old Ansett. The new catering in domestic is good but. It is shameful that there is no WiFi intenet access anywhere. It would cost a few hundred dollars at the most for the Tasmanian Government to give free WiFi access at Hobart Airport and so reinforce the image it is trying to give as a progressive State. It is doubtful that a private company will ever do it and Tasmania would top all the other states in lateral thinking if it did it for free!
