"lots of seating"
1 reviews Thomas van Woerkom (Netherlands)
✅ Trip Verified | Upon arrival from Yangon to this airport, it was a matter of minutes to be done. A small passport control for a domestic flight (Not sure why, but it was necessary) and just a matter of minutes for our luggage to arrive on trolley as no belt is available at this small domestic airport. Few days later, we returned for a domestic flight to Nyaung-U. Departure terminal is a bit more spacious with lots of seating. Wooden kiosks to check in for your flight designated to your airline (though signs of former companies are still visible. Prior to security, you have a souvenir shop and small food shop available and was necessary to get your boarding card stamped prior to heading to security. Passing security you were left in an open room with lots of seating with a souvenir shop and two coffee shops. Door to apron was open too, so you could walk outside at any time to stand between the aircraft. Boarding was chaotic too as it was called by wooden signs when your flight was ready (no announcements) and arriving and departuring passengers were mixed when trying to board our flight as another flight was deboarding.

"Just like turning the clock back"
8 reviews Mark Ellwood (United Kingdom)
✅ Verified Review | Just like turning the clock back, small old building with one runway. Not many flights and it all seems to work very well. Arrivals was very quick just waited a few minutes for the luggage to arrive. No luggage belts but just trolleys then they are loaded onto another trolley and off to the car park.

"Very small old fashioned terminal"

Very small old fashioned terminal, nothing wrong with that as check in was a breeze. All luggage checked and weighed together then put onto a trolley. No computers, everything written out including boarding cards. Once checked in usual hand luggage screening and off into the small departure lounge. Rows of plastic seat along with a few little shops selling the usual goodies from Myanmar and snacks. A very good café with great coffee's and tea's. Usual badge so the staff know which flight you are on. All very relaxed and you can watch the flights taking off and landing. Toilets worth a miss!

"all very basic"
Peter Thackray (United Kingdom)
Flew in from Mandalay and out to Rangoon. Built by the British before independence and not much has changed. All very basic/manual with no computers in evidence. There is a Departure building which has a dozen "desks" and various weighing scales, no indicator boards or other useful information. Toilets pretty basic. All hold baggage loaded onto trolleys and put through a scanner before being wheeled out to the aircraft. Passengers scanned and into Departure Lounge where there was a bar/cafe selling drinks and a couple of quite pricey souvenir and snack sellers. Flight departures announced by someone carrying a board with the flight number. You walk over to the aircraft and board. There is nothing to stop you getting out onto the apron if you wanted to. Arrivals is in the adjacent terminal with nothing much in it. The baggage cart is wheeled in and you get your bag off and walk out. The actual airport functions well, but is very busy as all the flights are timed to arrive and depart together early in the morning and late in the evening. A step back in with but with high spec ATR aircraft!

Heho Airport customer review
W Ford (United Kingdom)
Travelled in and out of this Burmese provincial airport early last year arriving from Mandalay and leaving to Rangoon. Pretty basic but it was OK and really belonged to another age of flying. This because you could wander out onto the runway between planes arriving (there weren't many) and if you wished you could go to your hold luggage which was stacked on a trolley awaiting the plane's arrival and put things in or take things out of it. Many of the Burmese passengers availed themselves of this facility as our plane was an hour late arriving. When it's light appeared in the sky on it's approach an airport official suggested we all go back into the terminal so we did. An airport still in an age of innocence with no apparent need for security of any kind!
