"Avoid Genoa airport if you can"
Neil Harvey (United Kingdom)
Not Verified | Everything looked well as we arrived from Palermo en route to Manchester as our bags arrived within 5 minutes and checked in within 5 minutes. That’s where it started to unravel. The security was inept with 2 people checking 3 flights. It took 45 minutes to get through passport control despite Ryanair calling 6 times to get us all boarded. Even when the security guy was told the Manchester flight had priority over the Tirana flight which was an hour behind ours. We just got on board with minutes to spare. More staff needed and better communication rather than a 1970s PA system. Avoid Genoa airport if you can

"airport is small but convenient but also quite dated looking"
38 reviews H Janssen (Netherlands)
✅ Trip Verified | This airport is small but convenient but also quite dated looking. It looks like it's stuck in the 80s and seating isn't comfortable. Duty-free is readily available and there are a few small kiosks serving food and beverages. Security check is fast and efficient but also looks like how it was done 30 years ago. There are different bus services to the city center.

"unacceptable all over"
J Hansen (Denmark)
✅ Trip Verified | Flight to Amsterdam was canceled due to the weather conditions, that’s how it was and acceptable. The handling at the airport was unacceptable all over. The help desk appeared ignorant and arrogant to the affected customers. The assisting crew (only 2) at the counters were ignoring our need for help and it appeared as they picked people by names and not from the huge crowded 2 lines. Compared to other airports around the world, this incident yesterday October 11th was the worst I have ever been a part of and the airport should absolutely evaluate the lack of service provided to KLM and the customers involved. Do hope for improvement in the future matters concerned.

"a massive queue of passengers"
Roy Carpenter (Portugal)
Arrival following amended flight from Paris (see CDG report) we went to the lost luggage desk to report our loss but the operative there said we would have to wait a half hour because his computer was down. The fact that we were late for the departure our of our cruise liner did not seem to register. Eventually after help from the marvelous cabin crew from our Air Dolomiti flight he shrugged his shoulders and told us just "Go". On return we went to the same office, aided by the courteous customs and police, where a very efficient lady located our missing paperwork and we were away. Only to join a massive queue of passengers from the liner being security checked using just 2 of the 4 scanners who, in any case missed the liquids which my wife had forgotten to remove from her hand baggage. There were a lot of sweaty bodies flying out that day.

Genova Airport customer review
Fabrizio Conca (Italy)
It is a small airport no long queues or big crowds quick check-in and boarding. It has quite good services if you consider its dimensions. It is clean and comfortable. I always start my trips here when possible also for overseas flights because it has good connections with the main hubs: Rome Paris Munich London Istanbul.

Genova Airport customer review

Genoa airport compares extremely well with our huge overcrowded and understaffed London airports. It is nice and small with lovely shops and good cafes. There are no long queues at check in or security and staff are friendly and helpful. A pleasure to visit.

Genova Airport customer review
Dunai Zoltán
I have used the comfortable Cr. Colombo Airport in Genoa at least 15 times in the last 5 years. Small comfortable no crowd no queue security check is not the standard paranoia of the EU just lazy smiles. Friendly staff excellent shop excellent coffee shop (fantastic quality of espresso good grappa and beer - reasonably priced). And not to forget - it is comfortable to rent a car and drive anywhere in the Ligurian Coast easy car return - the Airport is before Genova on the road. One of my favorite airports.
