"Shameful shambles"
Rebecca Worsley (United Kingdom)
❎ Not Verified | Terrible terrible queue to get through passport control at Geneva airport on a flight from London. Unbelievable. We missed our pre-booked and Pre-paid taxi because of this. Shameful shambles. We had to queue for one hour with two young children. It was horrendous.

"irrationally inflexible and horribly rude"
W Mayor (Switzerland)
✅ Trip Verified | Every personnel I encountered has been useless, irrationally inflexible and horribly rude. I arrived for a flight 1hr30min before flight time which has always been sufficient time. Ended up in a long line at Swiss Airlines and when I asked what I should do, I was told by the staff to wait. Then by the time I got to check in they said it was too late to check in. They claimed there was an announcement which I never heard and tried to blame me by claiming that I should have arrived 3hrs before. When I got sent to get my ticket rebooked they said the only way I could leave today was to pay $2500. Multiple discussions, multiple phone calls and 2hrs later, I ended rebooking myself over the phone paying $600. Not a single person at Swiss Airlines or Geneva airport helped me. Worst airport experience of my life.

"an hour waiting to get through security"
Dewi Thomas (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | Shocking. Security on arrival of this supposedly first world country is the worst I have ever experienced anywhere in the world. And frankly the Swiss do not care a jot. At the time of writing the overall rating was 3.1 out of 10. What manager and director ignores that. People are spending typically an hour waiting to get through security at a huge cost to businesses and the economy. Shameful.

"queuing at security the worst"
Peter Sarkocy (Slovakia)
✅ Trip Verified | Queuing at security checks is the worst of all airports I’ve ever seen. Waiting 1 hour is unacceptable. I was travelling alone. But poor mothers with children. There is no flight information available at the queue

"really badly organized queuing system"
C Thomas (Belgium)
❎ Not Verified | This airport is known for its really badly organized queuing system at the security check. The system works with one long queue at which little separate queues branch of to the security scanners. If you are lucky, a member of the staff let you go into the first scanners, if you are unlucky they always send you through until the last scanner. As a result there are huge differences in queuing time between the lucky ones who get to use the first scanner and the unlucky ones which have to go to the last ones. Staff are also rude in this respect and tell you they have to follow orders. Security check itself is also slow. Airport is badly designed, and they let you walk around for no reason. Prices for food and drinks are very expensive.

"airport itself is average"
Con Murphy (Switzerland)
❎ Not Verified | The airport itself is average, but many services are horrible, duty free, restaurants. If your airline uses the local swiss handler at check in gate they are often rude. The airport management never responds to complaints. A relative of mine used the assistance service to the plane, they were asked to go and queue at check in for their airline, obviously they could not stand in a queue. Be warned do not break you leg skiing. I was told it is airport policy not to assist disabled so that they can terminate the service, this would never be accepted in an EU country.

"the most inefficient airport"
T Gibson (United Kingdom)
✅ Verified Review | Geneva is my home airport for past 5 years. It is without doubt the most inefficient airport with the rudest uncaring staff. Completely unorganised and without doubt one of the worst in the European region. You feel like its controlled by an old fashioned regime. Really wish I could avoid it.

"it only gets worse"
Clarissa Carvalho (France)
✅ Verified Review | I have been flying in and out of Geneva for over two years now and it only gets worse. Endless lines for check in, even longer lines for security checks, delays due to saturation for inbound and outbound flights. Not enough food vendors and therefore more lines, not enough and dirty bathrooms. Overall an experience to be dreaded more and more every time I have to fly anywhere.

"Staff are incredibly unfriendly"
R Jones (France)
❎ Unverified | This is one awful airport. Failed to find parking space on two occasions, missing flight both times. Staff are incredibly unfriendly with little/no exception. The toilets are disgusting and I even witnessed the cleanser pushing the happy smiley face button on the customer survey. Payment for trolleys is required, car park closes at night, no decent places to eat. Unfortunately this is all too typically Swiss, only happy when they are taking money off you and provide very poor service.

"Overall an unpleasant experience"
M Carle (Switzerland)
✅ Verified Review | 45 minutes to drop off baggage at Easyjet desk and then another 40 minutes to go through security and passport control. Staff are ignorant (Starbucks and Easyjet gate staff especially so) and toilets smell like they've not been cleaned for weeks. Very little seating airside plus they don't announce gates until around 45 to 60 minutes prior to flights in order to keep you spending money in the shops and restaurants. Overall an unpleasant experience. Would recommend if your visit Switzerland to use Zurich airport. There's little or no waiting, it's clean and it's efficient - exactly what you'd expect from a Swiss airport. Even it extends your transfer to your final deatination by an hour or two, you'll save the time at the airport and of course it's less stressful.
