"Staff are all generally friendly"

(Iraq)

Unverified | Airport has a weird system for departure: 1) You have to go to a security check point outside the airport to be patted down (manually) by security guards while your vehicle (luggage) is sniffed by gaurd dogs. 2) Then, you are dropped off at a terminal for security check (again) this time through electronic devices where you get a special colored sticker on your luggage. 3) Afterwards, you proceed to a shuttle bus (carry your own luggage) that will take you to another terminal (about a 7 minute drive where temperatures reach 45-50 degrees Celsius in the summer). 4) At the 2nd terminal, a security check is done to ensure you have been security checked at the previous terminal (?). Now some of this can be avoided if you have a special VIP pass that skips step 2! And a VVIP that skips all steps! The check in counters are ok, about 10 of them run by Dubai's DNata. Immigration is slow and queues are long. Duty Free is small with tobacco, chocolates and alcohol available. One coffee shop available behind Duty Free. After passing immigration (but before your gate) you pass through another security check point (remove your shoes, belts, etc...) Plenty of seating at the gates plus one coffee shop (although AC is never working in the summer) and no wifi connection through out the airport. Staff are all generally friendly.

"efficient and clean"

(Italy)

I really like this modern airport. It is efficient and clean. Staff are polite and sost can speak at least a reasonable English and in case of any difficulty they would call a colleague. The general public cannot access the main terminal for security reasons. A separate building called "Meet and greet" hosts the first baggage and traveler security inspection facilities. A large free parking for private cars and taxis is available. From here, a bus every 5 minutes brings the passengers (and only them) to and from the main terminal, a few hundred meters away. In the same way, those waiting for passengers on arrival wait for them at a waiting space at the "Meet and greet" building. Only registered "VIP" vehicles (usually diplomats and high ranking officials) can access the main terminal. The terminal itself is modern, clean and spacious, and includes all the expected services. The duty free shop is not big but the choice of articles is good for a small airport. When arriving (I experienced a dozen arrivals in the past 4 years, both during the day and the night), I never had to wait more than 10 minutes for my baggage. While information is always available and efficient inside the airport, the same cannot be said for the website. Here, updates on flight status are unpredictable, sometimes wrong, sometimes late, sometimes correct and on time.
