"security control was extremely slow"
J Garmin (Belgium)
✅ Trip Verified | The security control at the airport was extremely slow. A female security officer had taken a role to rearrange all the items passangers had put into the plastic crates - literally organising them in the box to her liking, for no obvious reason. This meant that time per passanger was extended hugely. When finally my time came, and I had passed the control, I took my crate to the adjacent table to avoid jamming the short end of the conveyor belt: this triggered another security officer to come and inform that since I was using that table, it obliged him to do the swipe test for explosives. Alright, nothing against that. Before he finished the test, the same uber-meticulous woman came to claim the crate back (which would have been returned without her colleague intervening already long before as I had only three items in there) and then they decided to start mocking me and joking that I probably wanted to keep the crate as a souvenir. I felt completely bullied as in those situations you are on the mercy of them letting you go or keeping you behind. Mind you, during the entire security check process, I had not made any remarks, not shown any emotions or otherwise provoked them. After I was cleared, I asked a nearby police woman if she knew where the supervisor of the security control is to be found. She kindly went to get a middle-aged man from the line to me and he confirmed to me to be the supervisor but did not present his name or rank or anything. He simply stated that all the procedures in Dresden are dictated by police order, to detail, which they simply execute. He was not ready to admit anything else but the fact that "Dresden is different from all other airports". I was disturbed; an frequent traveler, I have never ever experienced anything like this.

"A small but efficiently operating airport"
38 reviews H Richards (Netherlands)
✅ Trip Verified | A small but efficiently operating airport. Arrival was smooth and fast, even when there was an additional covid document check. There are enough small shops and food and beverages available. Transportation is best done by train which will cost only 2.50 euro.

"get food before passing through security"
Steve Paul (United Kingdom)
Not Verified | Easy through security but was hoping to relax in departures with some decent choice of food. Didn’t happen. Only one cafe with a sad choice and overpriced. If you’re hungry get food before passing through security.

"bags took forever to come out"
11 reviews K Edwards (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | My flight arrived at around 6 am. The airport was dead - yet bags took forever to come out. The airport was clean though. There was minimal signage.

"A little and modest airport"
24 reviews A Hasseem (Germany)
✅ Trip Verified | A little and modest airport in the capital of Saxony. Apparently the politicians and the government members of the state of Saxony gave it the right to exist to be able to travel by plane directly to and from Dresden and avoiding using the bigger and better airport in Leipzig, one hundert of miles away. I wonder if this airport is profitable at all. Any how it is very clean and clear and it is the best way to get to Dresden from outside east part of Germany. Airport staff seems to be much more bored then engaged.

"cannot communicate in English properly"
T Sung (Thailand)
✅ Trip Verified | Most staff working at airport cannot communicate in English properly, the security check point in particular. They speak German only. Considering it is an International Airport this must be improved as a priority. Many foreigners travelling from/to here possibly have problems with them because of miscommunication. Not recommended to travel via this airport.

Dresden Airport customer review
David Griffiths
Pleasant and unmemorable for all the right reasons - no excessive queues no overcrowding just a good efficient airport doing what airports are meant to do ie. processing passengers swiftly and without hassle in an attractive environment. Some parts of DRS particularly the LH check in reminded me of a smaller version of HAM. I agree with Mr Evans that DRS is under-utilised although at least that means there is plenty of space for everyone.

Dresden Airport customer review
Mark Evans
Little expense has been spared to make DRS a spacious and state-of-the- art. An all-round highly agreeable experience with the added advantage of DRS being very close to the city centre. A half-hourly rail service connects DRS with Dresden Hautbahnof (a 25-minute journey) with several intermediate stops all for a princely EUR 1.80 one-way fare. BA has recently launched an LGW-DRS service (great views of the heart of the city on the landing approach from the starboard side) but the airport remains somewhat under-utilised.
