"unprofessional, untrained and incompetent"
2 reviews G Morris (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | We have been sat in Dammam airport watching aircraft (on a 3rd party app) land and take off from all surrounding airports except Dammam because apparently Dammam airport has fog. This is the second day we are facing a cancelled flight because of fog. Here is the problem, we all (7 passengers not traveling together) are all looking outside and there is no fog, not any, no patches of fog, nothing at all anywhere! So why are flights being cancelled because of fog? The airport staff here are so unprofessional, untrained and incompetent that it is a genuinely scary prospect to be flying out of here. Time to move our arrivals and departure airport to somewhere else who actually want aircraft to land and take off.

"airport is dated and run down"
2 reviews G Morris (United Kingdom)
✅ Trip Verified | Hands down one of the worst experiences of flying in just under 20 years. No accurate information for current flights, the airline website does not match the airport boards which do not match the online updated boarding tickets. The airport does not communicate current issues like delays due to weather at all in a 12 hour period of time to customers already inside the airport. The business lounge staff are unknowledgeable and unwilling to assist any customers if it involves doing anything other than swipping a boarding card. The airport is dated and run down and unable to cope with the most basic of adverse weather conditions. We have had to sit at Dammam airport watching (on the internet) flights taking off from all other airports around us but all flights remain grounded at Dammam. I am going to avoid this airport going forwards at all costs.

"old, haggard and unclean"
Jacob Thomas (New Zealand)
✅ Verified Review | This airport is old, haggard and unclean. People that work here are lazy, rude and have trouble diverting attention from there mobile phones to actually do there job. The queues were unnecessarily large as there is insufficient staff to operate the customs desks

"worn out airport"
11 reviews O Saab (Saudi Arabia)
✅ Verified Review | Worn out airport stuck in the early 90s. Used this airport for a domestic departure and was disappointed at the overall appearance of this airport. Toilets were very old and filthy. Airbridges were old, dark and depressing. The airport had some good retail outlets but it definitely needs a major overhaul in terms of infrastructure and services.

"more efficient leaving the country"
Peter Thackray (United Kingdom)
Dammam airport immigration slow and unclear which of the many queues you need to join. The whole process takes much longer than it needs to. At least luggage piled waiting for you, then all baggage (hand and hold) to be scanned before getting to arrivals. Usual selection of outlets, foreign exchange, car rentals. Outside is a taxi booth where you state your destination and get 2 tickets which are fixed price fares to your destination. Departures is on the upper level with various check-in islands (the information board is actually behind you as you get there to tell you where to check-in). Passport control is more efficient leaving the country, after which is security before arriving at the duty free wall. Big selection of perfumes, some tobacco and chocolates but no alcohol. There is a Papa John's Pizza and Starbucks coffee and a Baskin Robbins. The terminal looks out onto the runway and most gates are via air bridges.

Dammam Port Airport customer review
R Pattison (United Kingdom)
The place is awful to both fly into and depart from. Unorganised chaos poor facilities rude immigration staff. Just avoid it at all costs. I've flown into hundreds of airports all over the world and this place is the worst. I would strongly advise flying out of Bahrain.

Dammam Port Airport customer review
Zaeem Saeed (Saudi Arabia)
This airport is probably the worst airport I have visited so far. The seating area seats were very dirty the carpets were completely littered with chip wrappers. I didn't see any cleaners or airport staff cleaning the area. The bathrooms are very in poor state no hygiene whatsoever. The service was poor and unacceptable.

Dammam Port Airport customer review
Howard Baker (United Kingdom)
This airport is so below standard as to make it worthy of being a bad third world airport. Sure the building is to a good standard but what is the point when the facilities are rubbish. Immigration: 4 hours or more standing there are few seats and with the staff telling you to stand. I have visited too many airports where you would expect poor service due to it being a poor country many have made you far more welcome queues at least move people try and get you through. Words are not enough to state the lack of quality of this airport.

Dammam Port Airport customer review
Herman Maas (Saudi Arabia)
No flight information no staff who can communicate in English to clear customs for international flights will take a very long time. The lounges are below standard airports are old taxis outside do not use meters and therefore the drivers set the price. I have flown and travelled all over the world but when comparing Saudi airports in general to other international airports Saudi airports lack quality in just about every department very disappointing indeed.
